Thank you for making this video. Mixing engineer here! I have forwarded this video along to many clients for file delivery instructions , and it’s been so helpful to make sure I get what I need.
Thank you for this video! I am a performer/composer mainly and cannot keep up with all the updates in new software. Your speaking pace and clarity makes this process very easy to follow!
you included one very important step that none of the other videos on this subject did. Making sure the time stamps all line up when importing into the new DAW. Thanks.Guess most people dont listen with their ears anymore:)
Thank you, brother. You saved me so much time. I was looking for a way to export, starting at Bar 0. I didn't know I could select the cycle range. Lesson learned: open my eyes.
Friend, Logic is full of options, i started with Logic 9 and until today i'm learning things, like workarounds and such. Keep it going this sofware is awesome.
I actually was able to follow what you were saying you are definitely a natural. I'm very new at this. I use Studio One but it doesn't seen to different. Thank's again. If you could send me a link or if you have another video have another video that shows the next step of sending the stem I'd greatly appreciate it.
What about Aux channels and sends. Let's say you have an instrument that sends to an Aux with a delay.... when you get the stem for that channel is the delay mia? Can you bounce stems of Aux channels as a whole....like say you have reverb aux...can you bounce a stem of the whole reverb return for the track as a whole?. Or what about if you're using and Aux for something like parallel compression.? I feel like you're routing can get complex now especially with folder stacks too....
RE: getting the busses exported- does creating an arrangement track for the mix bus and then following this process cover it, or are there more steps? I'd love to see a video on this process!
Thanks for this. I'm exporting some vocals to send to a mix engineer. I have Melodyne as an effect, so I plan to export with that, but should I export with EQ or Compression effects, or delete those effects?
Hi Adam. Do you usually stem out only as STEREO files? What about Mono Instruments? Doing it like in your Video would mean Basses and Vocals would be Stereo.
Extremely helpful video, thank you. Question though. Is there a way to preserve the color coding done, as well as the groupings created via track stacks so that when I import the project, it lookss exactly like my MIDI project with color coding and organization all in tact? Thanks a million!
Hey, I thought "stems" were stereo groups of (usually) like tracks (drums / guitars / vocals) and the individual track exports are "trackouts?" Is this wrong?
You are absolutely correct. He is bouncing multitracks NOT stems. Everyone watching this video now thinks multitracks are called stems. Isn't that just fantastic?
None of my files are the same length and I’m not sure why. I followed your steps correctly but say a guitar started 30 seconds into the song, the exported audio file doesn’t add the 30 seconds of silence, it just plays right away
I had an awful workaround but needed to submit stems so I did it anyway. Essentially for each channel/instrument, I found a small clip of my audio that had no sound/wavelength, trimmed it (commmand T), moved the empty audio clip to the very start of the track (ensuring they are all starting at the same place) and then used command J to join the clip at the start to your actual audio. This is definitely not the most efficient way but I was desperate.
I download alot of drum sounds from everywhere they always come super compressed how can I use them without it clipping or tuning down the volume to the point I can't hear them properly 🤔
can someone tell me why my audio files are exporting as just the beat of the song ? like my chorus and verses are the beat when I export them for some reason
Hey I’m struggling to find a way to share my music on logic to my phone but with the best quality I can get. Could you show how you can do that if that’s a possibility?
I can't tell you how many times I've recieved stems that are all out of order because of the trim silence tick. That is the biggest deal of this entire video hahaha

I wouldn't mind seeing how you would do it with busses, if you don't mind!
Honestly came here excited to learn how to export with the bus 🥲
Yea that’d be huge
Facts
Yes BUSSES!!
any idea how??

I really needed that info. Thanks Adam
Glad I can help 🙏
could u do one with bus routings? not rlly understanding that system how it is affecting gain staging etc.

Thank you for doing this video I found it very helpful:)
Dude. Amazingly helpful. Thanks for this.
I’ve been waiting for this one

Trim file length! Thats what the problem was! Was driving me nuts. Thanks dude. 🙏🏽
Great video! What about the volume levels, is there a way to export it at the original level?

Best explanation. Will send it to a client right away. Thanks
Thanks. Well organized and presented. Very helpful.

Did you solve this issue? Having the same problem here

@@MicahGoode-lz6fm Thanks dude, this actually helped big time. Not sure what bug is causing this issue
THAT WAS HELPFULL THANKS
when using this method i often have issues that some stems come out with some of the processing missing (e.g. LFO Tool) - anyone else have this issue?
I have just updated to sonoma and I cant export stems to project length. Anyone having the same problem?

I think you might need to look for higher quality samples, I personally use Splice.
@@b00gzzz even Decaps stuff clips i use splice tho

This was really helpful - cheers! Do you have a link to how you export stems with the bus tracks?

Great Tutorial! Thanks!
I always have issues with exporting Mono files in Logic. They tend to all be to the left if I do.
Amazing tutorial, thank you
Hey man really appreciated your tutorial thank you 👍

Thank you this is great!!
THNX for the vid.
Question: Do you dial the pan of all tracks to 0 before exporting ??

Very useful 👌🏻
This just saved me hours of extra work! Seems I work backwards
Thank you so much Adam I was really bouncing out each track individually 🤦
Great video! I like to name sections of my tracks is there a way to keep the names of each individual section of the tracks?
What’s the difference between export and bounce?
Maybe I’ll find out by the end of the video, but don’t want to forget to ask either 😂
Bounce is a your stereo master file. Export tracks is if you want to export single tracks
@@imamusicmogul thanks man!
