Dead Space was hinted towards Space Odyssey and Lovecraftian cosmic horror. Though it makes sense why the series shifted to a horror game to an action was needed. The problem with alot of people who love horror is that they just want to shit heir pants instead of actually understanding the lore. It was inevitable that the Unitologists would repent against EarthGov. Their hatred for them was hinted ever since DS1 (but more in DS Salvage) EarthGov also started losing power after Titan Staton was destroyed, thus losing to the Unitologists. It focuses more on gameplay rather than story that the game is basically a rip off of FEAR and Silent Hill. Just take a look at the past REs and then that one. Dead Space 3's story actually makes sense. Action was inevitable.
