Yin Yoga For Tight Hips & Glutes - Deep Hip Stretching Yoga Flow | Gayatri Yoga

- Deep hip opening yin yoga flow for tight hips and glutes. Open your hips & release your emotional tension with this yin style hips opening practice. If you have very tight outer hips, hip flexors this class is your solution. In yin yoga we passively hold the poses targeting not only soft tissue but hard tissue like ligaments. It's not uncommon to feel a rush of emotions in hip-opening poses. In yogic terms there is no separation between mind, body, and spirit. The three exist as a union.
As we go through some unpleasant emotions, stress, trauma your body responds by tightening/clenching & builds up the tension that can accumulate for years.
Practicing hip opening asanas helps to relieve stress & anxiety, as well as stir some emotions & past experiences. Just let them all out, you don’t need to hold onto them.
You will fell 10 thousand times better after this practice. Just breathe & observe the emotions arising during the practice !

This was one of the best yin hip yoga practices I have found. Very well made, perfect transitions, and ample time per pose. This lady is very nice to listen to as well.
Thank you! Please share! ❤️🙏
Two weeks later and I now do this specific yin practice several times a week. It’s actually healing my posas issue. Thank you for this gift. I’ll definitely continue to share with friends.
Absolutely wonderful! Straight & crisp instructions, no unnecessary chatter , no loads of options which is all distracting, thank you so much 😊 loved it
Thank you!! Please share! ❤️
Excellent practice, I just finished it, and I feel great. Thanks Kristina. Nice day.
Thank you!! Please share!! ❤️🙏
Did this one during a lovely thunderstorm. Very relaxing
😍
Hi Kristina, I absolutely love all of your classes. Your energy, the length, your cues. The only thing is there are much forward folding and not as much balancing with the front body, and it actually hurts me if I stay on your channel alone. My quads and psoas get quite tight... I know this is not the case for everyone, so please don't change just for me. I know you have specific videos that really get in to those areas, but It would be great to get some more mixture of the front and back body poses though!! Either way, appreciate this channel beyond words !
Awesome Thank You from Vancouver Canada!❤

Thank you for the wonderful practice.

Enjoyed it but the stretches was very difficult for me such thanks such a beautiful sight at the ending
Hi adjust as needed and come out sooner to childs pose. It takes time. But for majority it is hard too. ❤️
Love yin and loved this video! Please make more!
Namaste from India. I absolutely loved these stretches today. especially right now when we are under lockdown during this Corona Virus scare, your classes are what is keeping me going. I love that you don't instruct too much, just as much as is needed. It lets us sink into the pose in a calm manner. You are doing a great job. Thank you
Thank you!!! Please share! ❤️🙏
Very nice stretching 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for this class. I have attempted it many times but could not get though the whole thing till today. My hips feel much more open. I will definitely be doing this class again and will share.
Thank you! Please share! 💜
Found this yin session very connected and using props really helped achieving the most out of it. Feel lower body very light and spacious by the end of it. It was relaxing at the same time.
Thank you!!! ❤️ please share! ✨🙏
Thank you so much for this yin practice. It was painful for me because of how tight I am. I will do more yin practices that you have prepared. I really like your style. Wishing you a wonderful evening! Namaste.
Thank you! But be careful with pain. On scale 1-10, no more than 6-7 in discomfort. But not pain. Also yin yoga should be practiced only 1-2 times a week. Not every day,
Brilliant as always! Thank you so much Christina! You are amazing!
Your description for this class was incredible. We really do hold our emotions in our muscles and certain areas, everyone's is different. I've battled with hip and low back pain, neck and shoulder for years. All the trouble spots for withholding our true feelings and emotions. Thank you for this, I love your yoga classes!, So patient, calming and informative
This is one of my most favorite yin yoga video's. I love your energy and your gentel instructions. Thank you so much for sharing your yoga practice. Namaste'
caleb7420 thank you!!! 🙏🌼
Wonderful class Kristina! It was challenging for me both mentally and physically to stay in those poses for so long and focus on just relaxing and breathing. Thank you!
Yin hip flows are hard for me too.
wow, that was challenging! My hips obviously need more of this, thank you!!
Hi Kristina, Could you please make 90 min series (10-days challenge maybe) of Yin yoga.
Many thanks in advance and Thanks for your wonderful classes.
Hi, thank you.
Yin yoga is not recommended more than 1-2 times a week. it's affecting the hard tissue and if the joints become too loose they will give you problems as you get older. Tendons and ligaments can not shrink back like muscles & fascia does. So may be 10 week 😜 challenge. I try to put longer flows for members at gayatri.yoga to be fair. I'll see what I can do.!
This was delightful. Thank you
A beautiful practice indeed. Best thing about your sessions is that they are long which gives a feeling of fulfilment and comfort. Simply love them ❤️ and want to have more yin practice from you. Thanks
aliya nafeesa thank you!!! Im looking forward to getting back to filming new classes soon, my little son still doesnt have a good napping routine and i cant find a good window to shoot a class . Hopefully it will change soon. )
Amazing practice

Thank you, Cristina! By the end of the class the pain on my right hip joint and sciatica which extended to my knee and leg was gone. I feel relieved. Good morning from Davao City, Philippines. Keep safe.

Hi Kristina, I practiced this class several months ago and again today. Practice was great and thoroughly enjoyed both times. My hips were loose enough to practice lotus mediation for a few minutes afterwards. Thanks for great class. I hope you give us some more yin classes in the future.

Thank you 🙏🏽
Just what I needed... More time focused strictly on my hips! Thanks! That was awesome. I will definitely return to this video very soon.

What a treat! Thank you, my hips feel sufficiently stretched and I feel really good overall
Thank you! Im glad you feel great!!
This took SO much patience for me. It was well worth it though. I deal with anxiety so this was a big help to breathe and feel through situations you cannot run from. I very much enjoy doing at home yoga but lately my hips are so tight and I little mobility in my hips. During a lot of the poses I also noticed I was thinking a lot about when I was a young teenager in middle (junior high) school. I am not sure why but there must be something there. Afterward I just wanted to sit in meditation. I am so relaxed I wonder how I will sleep tonight. This was a wonderful session. Thank you.
Leah Kelley thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed this practice. When we have some stressful situations, conversations, arguing, etc we tend to clench and tighten our physical bodies. It is said that most of this emotional stress is "stored" in hip area. So when we stretch the hips, visions about those situatations may arise, or certain emotions that we felt during stressfull moments. I normally feel the urge to exhale deeply through my mouth as if something, the tension the stress is leaving my body. I saw many comments here from my followers who felt anger, felt like crying, sadness during deep hip stretching. So i believe that our emotional experiences leave imprints on our physical bodies. Situations that might not have been resolved from your past might be arising first. Were you thinking about positive moments of your middle school or some unpleasant situations?
Gayatri Yoga {Kristina Matskevich}
Hi! I completely agree and have been learning so much to do with yoga and our emotions and memories. I don’t actually know for sure if I felt anger, strife or sadness during this session. Or at least could not pinpoint that. It did feel negative as I felt frustration but kept my patience and breathed through it. I just kept thinking of memories of walking through the halls of junior high or sitting in classes. I am in my late thirties and a few years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder so I am now just learning to love and tend to myself as I should have in the first place. By the time I was 13 (in junior high) I was at my final height which is 5’10” then my body finished changing. Junior high wasn’t easy as I kept to myself and it was quite an awkward time for me. I tend to imagine sometimes going back in time to guide myself to where I should be. The experience I had with this session creates curiosity for me to return to it and dig deeper.
Thank you! I feel so relaxed after that really lovely class :)
Thank you for joining me for this practice!
I feel amazing. Thank you.
Thank you a lot for what you do! ❤🤗
I am very tight in my hips and working on realising them. This is a great class for me. Love the duration of your videos. Hope you'll make more videos for psoas.
Nataliya, thank you for your feedback! It's very heartwarming to read such reviews and to know my classes are appreciated! I'll try to come up with a sequence that focuses on psoas muscles. Namaste!
First time ,I got my double pigeon ,I m so relax and happy!!!!!
Hello Kristina, I usually choose your "stronger" classes as I like to sweat a bit during practice :) But due to the fact that lately I've had my 8th tooth extracted and I should avoid any excessive physical effort I turned to this hips opening practice...and I'm stunned :) I was afraid it will be boring but I felt nothing but deep pleasure and great relaxation... Surely I will be coming back to this practice as my hips really liked it :))))) Namaste!
Katarzyna, I am glad you appreciated this yin practice. Hip openers are very releasing & doing them yin style is the most rewarding way. Did your boyfriend practice with you? Men are normally really tight in their hips. Namaste!
Kristina Matskevich As it was sunday morning my boyfriend chose to sleep rather than practice yoga with me ;)
I was searching for a practice after having 6 lucky wisdom teeth removed, this comment is the perfect sign to do this practice!!! thank you!
The class itself is awesome! I loved the succession of poses and the atmosphere you created, but... I could barely hold the postures for so long! It's almost the end of the video, I'm sitting in a forward bend and writing this comment lol I guess I'm bored. Should practice Yin yoga more often
Yay more hip opening!!
I'll do my best , thank you!! let me know how you feel about this class!
I second that request.
Loved this thank you so much it's really helped
I'm glad you feel better! ❤️🙏
Hi...u make it so easy n distressing too...
I'm 54yrs old n have too much weight esp on my waist hips thighs....hips n thighs are so tight ....I hope I can in time make my hips n tight thighs flexible....any further guidiance pls let me know.
Thanks a ton
Thank you! Keep moving, and focus on losing extra weight , it’s extra stress for your bone structure, your joints, spine. So for your health try to lose some extra weight. For flexibility just keep practicing, keep doing lighter flows until you feel more comfortable with intermediate. Flexibility is a process , focus on the journey and your health , flexibility will come as a nice side effect! ❤️✨

Great! Thank you for your quick and kind reply!
Have a lovely day!
Namaste!
I started practicing yoga about a month. My goal was to not let my emotions control me, I get upset very easily. I did this hip opening practice and I felt like I had a breakthrough, I didnt feel the negative emotions, I felt free from the bondage. I went to work today and had a moment with my manager and I was so upset and anxious I couldn't eat. What is it that I am doing incorrectly I want the moment and feeling that I felt after the video.
Such a beautiful class. This is my first class with you and looking forward to trying some intense classes.I have a question: how often shall i combine yin with power yoga if I am looking to lose weight n build strength?
Also which classes of your shall i focus on for losing weight n inches.
From today you are my official yoga teacher 💕💕
Hi! Im glad you like the con ent! Yin targets hard joint tissues. So it’s not recommended to practice too often, once a week is enough. As for power observe your body.
If you are new may be start with every other day. If you feel like more you can transition to daily practice . But you can mix in lighter flows inbetween the harder ones for better recovery. 🙏
Would you recommend this for my first time ever doing yin yoga?
Entavlaw hi, thank you for checking this class. Yin yoga does not require any muscular activation. We just hold the poses trying to let go of muscle control. This class might be too long for a first time, but it also depends on your fitness level. May be it will be perfect even for a first time. Give it a try. Modify if you need to, if the holds are too long for you, leave the pose sooner & take a child’s pose to rest. Remember that this is your practice. Nobody will judge if you cant do it perfect, or cant finish the whole class. Just breathe, observe how your body is responding . Holding the poses for a long time are very challenging for the mind. So observe the thoughts. start without any expectation, may be you wont even notice how the whole 80 min of the class fly by. NAMASTE!!! 🙏 let me know how it goes ☝️
Gayatri Yoga {Kristina Matskevich} I’m very muscular but super tight. I was able to hold the full duration of the stretches but not able to get into the full positions. Everything felt great just on a couple of stretches I’m feeling numbness in my foot which I don’t think is good. Today my hips feel a little sore. After I was done I felt so tired haha & just took a nap
That’s all ok, focus on propping yourself with blocks, blankes so that you could stay in poses longer. The full expression of the pose will come with regular practice, once the body opens up. I also am sore after each practice, you are stretching the muscles. If you are sore it means it worked ☝️. In yin yoga you are stretching the muscles and ligaments. It’s not recommended to do yin to often. Once-twice a week is enough. Try vinyasa yoga classes that focus on movement as well as flexibility other days of the week. It’s very meditative 🙂 you will see your gym/athletic performance improve once you start practicing regularly.
Gayatri Yoga {Kristina Matskevich} okay, I will try vinyasa yoga! Thank you so much! You’re awesome 👊🏻. Yin yoga has really helped! Namaste
Share my classes with your muscular friends 😜! Namaste!
can beginners try this?
Hi, i think it is safe to do this class. You are not supposed to push yourself into poses. Take is slowly, listen to your body, and modify if needed. I hope you enjoy this class! Namaste!
