Does it look tracky to you in the footage? i would say not as an opinion. but you are entitled to your own. Here is the theory behind the set ups if you are interested : wider tail base, which is basically flat on exit. and the straight up singles give you the release you need with out being excessive. especially at low speeds. then real quick lift off the bottom and out of turns so you can go again. the idea in theory is you never lose that rail therefore you never start from scratch in terms of speed. no excessive weight loading on either foot which basically aids forgivness. less to go wrong. from experience shaping in the flatter weaker waves of the uk, vee isnt good for acceleration in flat weak waves. great for transitions but that comes at a price in performance surfing in that kind of wave. you end up loading on your front foot to much and a bit of the forgiveness you may require is lost in getting back to planing. its all about finding those blends that best suit the surfer and the waves, over the years ive found this set up to work great for the weaker surf and the surfer who still wants to be aggressive.
