American fans came to see KT exclusively! Note how the stands behind the band are packed! I watched the LA All-Star 605 band that followed. The stands were practically empty! KT should have been scheduled last.
There were 3 Bandfest shows. One on Sunday and two on Monday. Show number 3 (the one Tachibana was in) was the only one that got sold out. There were still people trying to get in but the fire department wouldn’t allow it because the stadium can’t handle that many people. Yes, it’s a fact that so many people (myself included) only came for Tachibana. I made the 5 hour trip from Northern California just to see them. But that’s nothing compare to the thousands coming in from out of state and overseas just to experience Tachibana live in the Bandfest and the Rose Parade. After Tachibana there were still 2 marching bands left that have yet to perform...the LAUSD All District High School Honor Band and the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band (a college marching band). And you are right. After Tachibana performed, many people (myself included) left or started leaving. I understand that it looks disrespectful and some people think it’s downright disrespectful to do that but I wasn’t being disrespectful or have any intention to be disrespectful in any way. All the bands worked really hard and they are all very good bands but I really do just come for Tachibana.

Loved seeing them, in person, for the very first time and get to see them up close tomorrow at Disneyland. Just they wish they would’ve played Down by the Riverside
186 was what they said at the benefit concert. As the Tachibanas were heading back to their buses for their rides to the hotel, I saw one girl limping badly, probably injured doing Sing Sing Sing. Maybe the number is down to 185 for the RB parade!
@@demef758I've posted in a blog few years back that KT is probably the only marching band where injuries to its members regularly occurs due to their strenous choreo and athleticsm. Hope she recovers fast.

As one who was there today, I can attest to how the crowds in the stands reacted to the Tachibana: they were quite sedate for the 3 earlier bands, but then the crowds came to life when the Tachibanas hit the field. Of course, they exploded when Sing Sing Sing started.
@@demef758I'm an Italian expatriate whose house is 15 minutes drive away from their school. My children, all 4 of them, have watched almost all KT performances in person. Been a KT fan since 2010 and I'm the proud discoverer of KT Orange Fever Virus 14344 that spread all over the world in 2018🤠

Honestly, I’m so disappointed I waited years and this performance was boring and lackluster, the crowds are quiet unlike 2018 where people are standing and clapping. And the setlist was short as heck. 2012-2018 will still be Tachibana’s peak.
@@koji.s1256 I saw in another video of Tachibana’s pass in review and the crowds are all sitting and only a few are clapping :(( I’m not expecting this year to surpassed their seniors but I hoped they’ll nevertheless put a good show. 2017-2018 are still my favorite year of Tachibana, I rewatched so many videos that I recognized most of their faces already! Their rendition of Cantina and their performance at Kennedy HS 2018 are my favorite!

パーカッションの音が、現役だけの時の演奏に比べて随分分厚いなと思ったら、行進で確認すると、男子が現役だけの時より多い。

ローズパレード参加人数が、197名前後と聞いているけど、全員参加しているのかな🤔一部OGとOBが、本番に備えて参加していない感じかな🤔本番のローズパレードの映像を、楽しみに待っていますので、宜しく✌️

私は、ハイスクール・ミュージカルの演目 気に入りました。凄くリズミカルでオレンジの悪魔にピッタリだと思います。
もう少し長めにアレンジすればファイヤボールに匹敵すると思う。あれだけ動きがあれば十分だと思う。
噂のよると、著作権の問題で以前(2018年)の様にファイヤボール、ハッピーなどの楽曲が使用出来ないらしく ちょっと苦戦しているみたい。
なんか、オレンジの悪魔封じみたいだけど、著作権料 数千万ドル支払えないもんなぁ。ＬＡ大谷選手に頼むか........。

２０１８年を観たとき鳥肌が立つような感動を覚えたものだ。
そして生き生きと伸び伸びと楽しそうに演奏している姿は観客を魅了して、観客たちをも楽しませていたように見えた。
なんだっこじんまりとして楽しさや生き生きとした観客を魅了していくものが失われてしまっている。プログラムに疑問が残るし、シング一つとってみても改悪されているように見える。
日本の宝の一つともいえる京都橘高校も指導者が変わると魅力が失われてしまっている。２０１２，２０１８と観て来た来た者にとってはとってもさみしい。
こんなに感じるのは私だけなのだろうか？

自分も2012年からのファンですが、思っていても過去との違いをあえて述べる必要ないのでは。今の橘も音色は格段に良くなり、しっとりとした曲もこなせる奥ゆかしさが身についたと自分は解釈しています。今後この上に以前の元気いっぱいな感じが戻って来れば最強なんじゃないか…なんて妄想しています(*¯︶¯♥)
貴方の気持ちは解ります。 2018のローズは2012を踏襲して２００人体制、３人DM、fire ballにStar wars 等アメリカ人に受けそうな選曲やパンチの効いたダンスがありました。
しかし、時代は流れコンプライアンスとか、○○ハラスメントとか、多様性とか…世間の考え方や風潮が変わってきている中、現役部員の皆が置かれている状況の中で橘の歴史や伝統を受け継ぎ、今、自分達にできることは何か？ 目標にしている先輩方の演奏より少しでも進化した橘を作るにはどうするか？
そんな位置にいる彼らを温かく応援してくれませんか？
実際に4年続で全国マーコンで金賞を受賞し、今回初めてオールAという評価を勝ち取っています。
先輩方も喜んでくれているはずです。 名実ともに日本一のバンドとして新たな出発がここから始まっているのです。
先輩方の努力や実力、後輩たちへの指導や援助があるからこその偉業達成だと思います。
時代時代に合わせて変化、進化する橘っ子達を応援しましょう。
私も推しの世代は卒業生になってしまってますが、現役生の活躍を信じて橘スタイルを昇華させてくれるように期待して見守って行きたいと思っているひとりです。

学生世代の子どもが2人います。吹奏楽ではないですが、コロナ禍あり、教員の働き方改革あり、夏の猛暑の影響等々、3年違いで同じ学校の同じ球技の部に所属した息子達ですが、長男に比べたら次男は半分も活動できなかった感覚です。
次男は高3なのでまさに同じ世代。
大勢に期待される中でこれだけのパフォーマンスを成し遂げるのは並大抵の努力ではなかったろうと、胸が熱くなっています！
そもそも私は楽器の演奏が苦手なので、自分が出来ない事を出来る人には無条件で尊敬なのです😅
強烈に同感です。素晴らしいのだけれど、らしくない。物足りない。
卒業されたＯＧの方々の顔も見えますね。応援で参加されたのでしょうね。

117期のペンギン隊がN部長、Sメインドラムしかいない？
パズドラちゃん、シンバルちゃん、木琴ちゃんがいない
ビートの効いたジャズ曲のマーチングヘのアレンジ。それをダンス振りの中で演奏する。が、橘の真骨頂だと思うのですが、SWING,SWING,SWING 一曲しかなかった？ 原曲の使用料などで足枷があったやに聞きますが、パフォーマンス的には残念です。もっと飛び跳ねて吹き上げ、叩く姿を見たかったです。それでも、橘は素敵でした。ファンは やめられません。
動きが激しく、元気にダンスして演奏するのは京都橘高校だけですね。
こんな大編成の悪魔たち。スーザ１４本⁉️ コレを生で観られる人って、🎯宝くじに当たったのと同じだ‼️
もし自分が橘の後の出演だったらめっちゃ嫌やなぁ・・笑
Honestly, I’m so disappointed I waited years and this performance was boring and lackluster, the crowds are quiet unlike 2018 where people are standing and clapping. And the setlist was short as heck. 2012-2018 will still be Tachibana’s peak.

私も2018年がピークと思いますよ。
著作権料を請求されたので、演奏が制限されたのです。アメリカの有名曲は今後は演奏されません。

I’m not expecting this year to surpassed their seniors but I hoped they’ll nevertheless put a good show. 2017-2018 are still my favorite year of Tachibana, I rewatched so many videos that I recognized most of their faces already! Their rendition of Cantina and their performance at Kennedy HS 2018 are my favorite!

HBCUスタイルだけど、『踊るドラムメジャー』ジャスティン・ハイデマンのいるジェファーソンデイビス高校なんかは日本人でも驚きますね。
