She chose this song as a tribute to her young nephew who had passed away, this was played at his funeral if I remember right. But I remember in one video that was out for a while that I can't find anymore, she asked the producer specifically if she could please sing it in her accent. her brother and sister in law were there for the final recording, she had a picture of her nephew in the booth with her and the whole family was crying. It was so beautifully touching.

She was great. Perhaps the series was a bit of a slow burner, rather than a barnstormer, but a few of the episodes were as good as any Doctor Who ever. It really laid a good foundation for more to come. I hope Jodie gets a good run.

I didn't know the original version of Yellow so the first time I heard it it was Jodies version and it might just be because I happened to listen to her cover of Yellow before hearing Coldplays song but I prefer the cover. Jodie has such a lovely voice, it's soft, calming and soothing, that you just feel like someone who really cares about you and loves you for who you are is hugging you and just making you feel like everything is going to be okay. Yeah I think there is a lot of promis for Jodie, but I really didn't like how she was written, or the lack there of in series 11. Next series looks promising though! Hope she has more to do.

I also believe that the future of the show is perfectly safe. It brings in far too many financial benefits for the BBC. I'm not saying that the show won't have a rest from time to time, but Doctor Who is here to stay.

I cried at Jodi’s last episode. She is my favorite doctor of all time. I’ve been watching Doctor Who for since before the reboot with Eccleston. She was phenomenal, I loved everything about her doctor. Watching this I started to tear up again. She doesn’t deserve the vitriol that people have said about her. She’s not arrogant at all. She said she didn’t want to be influenced by the other doctors and their acting so she didn’t watch many other episodes. I commend her for that because even though people are trying to compare, she did not copy any other Doctor. But she said she did the deep dive into the Doctor Who lore to get a greater understanding of it. I will forever miss her and I feel sad for the people who choose to hate her and say negative things about her or people who support her. I feel that they are definitely not true Who fans because the Doctor would never say something so negative and hurtful about other people.

I think I’m the most recent comment, by the way I’m in year 6 now and I’ve almost finished the whole series of Doctor Who which has actually changed my perspective of the world and everything, so I thank all the actors in all series of Doctor Who and all the producers and editors including Chris Chibnall. And when I heard that Jodie Whittaker had her own version of the song “Yellow” I watched it straight away and it’s my favourite song now. If I didn’t ever watch Doctor Who or it wasn’t a thing i don’t know how I would think things of the world. So thank you Jodie Whittaker, all the actors in all seasons of Doctor Who (even the old ones), Chris Chibnall and all the editors and producers, I don’t know what I would’ve done without you all and especially your show, I owe you❤️😊🙏😊❤️

Thank you for putting this together. After all the negative rubbish about how bad this series was, it's lovely to have this beautiful compilation to go with this beautiful song, beautifully sung.
The series *has* been awful but Jodie W is the reason it's survived. The BBC, the producers, show runners and writers have failed her - deliberately. They set out to try to make her tenure fail. The scripts have been rubbish and cowardly. they bottled out of the relationship between the Doc and Yaz thus disappointing millions of people who wanted to see them happy. Whittaker should be staying while the writers, producers and directors should be out on their arses.
I would have been interested in this regardless of the song she chose just bc it was Jodie, but it means so so much to me that one of her favorite songs is a song that I also love so much and such a unique, perhaps underrated one
Look you can think whatever of Jodie but she did this song to honour her nephew you ever find the video of her practicing you can see in her eyes how much it means and you can hear it in her voice hear
I can just picture this image so clearly: Yellow is on the TARDIS radio, Dan is sat on those hexagon seats with his eyes closed and the doctor and yaz are at the controls. The doctor starts singing it under her breath, yaz notices but the doctor doesn't realize that she's singing. She bursts into song and dan opens his eyes and watches as yaz turns down the radio volume so she can better hear the doctors singing. The doc is so engulfed in the song that she doesn't notice. Yaz sits on the TARDIS floor and looks up at the doctor and then back at Dan. Dan smiles and raises his eyebrows. Yaz joins in singing, still sat on the floor and the doctor realises what's happened, she looks down at yaz and extends a hand to help her up. Yaz takes her hand and they duet the last chorus of the song, still holding hands and a single year rolling down the doctors cheek. The song ends and Dan claps and whoops and whistles. Yaz looks up at the doctor and steps closer. The doctor continues to hold yaz's hand as she steps closer. Yaz, raising herself onto her tiptoes, softly kisses the doctor. The doc is shocked, she can't remember the last time she felt affection like this. She closes her eyes and kisses yaz back. Behind her eyelids she sees flashbacks of her favourite moments with yaz. Yaz pulls her hand away from the doctors and raises it up to the docs face. She wipes away a tear from the docs cheek with her thumb. Yaz slips her hand into the doctors hair and runs her fingers through it. The doctor doesn't know what to do. She hesitantly moves her hands around yaz's waist, entwining her own hands. As the doctors wrists touch yaz's lower back, she (the doctor) flinches, she doesn't want yaz to get hurt like the others did. Yaz senses this and breaks the kiss, looking up at the doc again. Yaz steps back, thinking she's upset the doctor. "I'm so sorry...I didn't mean to..." "Yaz..." "Yes doctor?" The doctor smiles softly "Stay" The doctor pulls yaz into a tight hug, kissing her hair. "I will" Yaz's voice is muffled as her head is burried in the doctors shoulder. "Promise?" "I promise, doctor" Dan is still sat watching this awkwardly. The doctor peers over at him and gestures for him to join the hug without taking her arms off of yaz. Dan walks over shyly, not wanting to spoil the moment. The doctor offers an arm and Dan joins the hug, one arm around the doctor and one around yaz. Life is good
All these actors are really talented. All the actors playing the Doctor have been talented. But what struck me for the first time in this video is how very, very expressive Jodie's face is. More so than anyone else I can think of. That gives her a layer of credibility as The Doctor -- you believe she is REALLY experiencing all these things and emotions. I'm really enjoying riding with her in the TARDIS.

The actors were all amazing most of all Jodie who to me was a perfect incarnation of The Doctor. I just wish the writing hadn't been so awful, it really didn't do her character justice.

Watched the BBC Documentary 'Got It Covered' last night and again this morning.Jodie comes across so well and although always a fan of the original version I think Jodie brings that bit extra to it,perhaps it's the wistfulness in her voice.So moving and Jodie is lovely.

@Kamakaze YT I'm afraid I don't agree. Jodie is a very talented actress, comedy or serious drama. I will accept some of the writing in her first season wasn't good, but much of it was. I also believe that the future of the show is perfectly safe. It brings in far too many financial benefits for the BBC. I'm not saying that the show won't have a rest from time to time, but Doctor Who is here to stay.

I cried at Jodi’s last episode. She is my favorite doctor of all time. I’ve been watching Doctor Who for since before the reboot with Eccleston. She was phenomenal, I loved everything about her doctor. Watching this I started to tear up again. She doesn’t deserve the vitriol that people have said about her. She’s not arrogant at all. She said she didn’t want to be influenced by the other doctors and their acting so she didn’t watch many other episodes. I commend her for that because even though people are trying to compare, she did not copy any other Doctor. But she said she did the deep dive into the Doctor Who lore to get a greater understanding of it. I will forever miss her and I feel sad for the people who choose to hate her and say negative things about her or people who support her. I feel that they are definitely not true Who fans because the Doctor would never say something so negative and hurtful about other people.
What a talented actor, her voice is sensational and what is she doing acting?? She better be working on an album cos I'll be buying it for sure

I think I’m the most recent comment, by the way I’m in year 6 now and I’ve almost finished the whole series of Doctor Who which has actually changed my perspective of the world and everything, so I thank all the actors in all series of Doctor Who and all the producers and editors including Chris Chibnall. And when I heard that Jodie Whittaker had her own version of the song “Yellow” I watched it straight away and it’s my favourite song now. If I didn’t ever watch Doctor Who or it wasn’t a thing i don’t know how I would think things of the world.

Thank you for putting this together. After all the negative rubbish about how bad this series was, it's lovely to have this beautiful compilation to go with this beautiful song, beautifully sung.
The series *has* been awful but Jodie W is the reason it's survived. The BBC, the producers, show runners and writers have failed her - deliberately. They set out to try to make her tenure fail. The scripts have been rubbish and cowardly. they bottled out of the relationship between the Doc and Yaz thus disappointing millions of people who wanted to see them happy.
Whittaker should be staying while the writers, producers and directors should be out on their arses.

She will always be my favorite doctor. I loved the others but there was something special about her time as the doctor that connected with me
I can just picture this image so clearly: Yellow is on the TARDIS radio, Dan is sat on those hexagon seats with his eyes closed and the doctor and yaz are at the controls. The doctor starts singing it under her breath, yaz notices but the doctor doesn't realize that she's singing. She bursts into song and dan opens his eyes and watches as yaz turns down the radio volume so she can better hear the doctors singing. The doc is so engulfed in the song that she doesn't notice. Yaz sits on the TARDIS floor and looks up at the doctor and then back at Dan. Dan smiles and raises his eyebrows. Yaz joins in singing, still sat on the floor and the doctor realises what's happened, she looks down at yaz and extends a hand to help her up. Yaz takes her hand and they duet the last chorus of the song, still holding hands and a single year rolling down the doctors cheek. The song ends and Dan claps and whoops and whistles. Yaz looks up at the doctor and steps closer. The doctor continues to hold yaz's hand as she steps closer. Yaz, raising herself onto her tiptoes, softly kisses the doctor. The doc is shocked, she can't remember the last time she felt affection like this. She closes her eyes and kisses yaz back. Behind her eyelids she sees flashbacks of her favourite moments with yaz. Yaz pulls her hand away from the doctors and raises it up to the docs face. She wipes away a tear from the docs cheek with her thumb. Yaz slips her hand into the doctors hair and runs her fingers through it. The doctor doesn't know what to do. She hesitantly moves her hands around yaz's waist, entwining her own hands. As the doctors wrists touch yaz's lower back, she (the doctor) flinches, she doesn't want yaz to get hurt like the others did. Yaz senses this and breaks the kiss, looking up at the doc again. Yaz steps back, thinking she's upset the doctor.
"I'm so sorry...I didn't mean to..."
"Yaz..."
"Yes doctor?"
The doctor smiles softly
"Stay"
The doctor pulls yaz into a tight hug, kissing her hair.
"I will" Yaz's voice is muffled as her head is burried in the doctors shoulder.
"Promise?"
"I promise, doctor"
Dan is still sat watching this awkwardly. The doctor peers over at him and gestures for him to join the hug without taking her arms off of yaz. Dan walks over shyly, not wanting to spoil the moment. The doctor offers an arm and Dan joins the hug, one arm around the doctor and one around yaz.

All these actors are really talented. All the actors playing the Doctor have been talented. But what struck me for the first time in this video is how very, very expressive Jodie's face is. More so than anyone else I can think of. That gives her a layer of credibility as The Doctor -- you believe she is REALLY experiencing all these things and emotions. I'm really enjoying riding with her in the TARDIS.

The actors were all amazing most of all Jodie who to me was a perfect incarnation of The Doctor. I just wish the writing hadn't been so awful, it really didn't do her character justice.

Watched the BBC Documentary 'Got It Covered' last night and again this morning.Jodie comes across so well and although always a fan of the original version I think Jodie brings that bit extra to it,perhaps it's the wistfulness in her voice.So moving and Jodie is lovely.
