From what i know wollof women have been dressing like this for many centuries.....perhaps your women have also dressed like this for long but what is important is that we should respect each other's culture and stop hating each other. We are all beautiful in the eyes of God and it doesn't matter who started what first.....PEACE LOVE AND UNITY TO AFRICA AND TO MANKIND!

@ Yahael Camara-Onono >>>> Aṣọ Ẹbi does not mean "uniform". Aṣọ Ẹbi means "Family Attire". The celebrant(s) will select an attire for an occasion. Though it is optional, many well wishers will buy from the "selection" to demonstrate their love for the occasion. That is AṢỌ ẸBI

i never wanted to invove in this cultural arguement as we r all Aricans almost d same. but im tired of people trying to claim other people's cultural tradition, clothing dishes, etc. especially Nigerians who tink dat anyting fr W Africa dats very appeall to d rest of d world coms fr them. i a wolof man everyting u c in this video culture wise, we started it others copy. we r pace setter wen it coms to fashion, dat is doccumented.

To settle this debate. The head-tie is a very WEST AFRICAN THING. we all wear it From Senegal to Nigeria we are all one people!! The Large starched head tie IS a very Nigerian thing like Aso-Ebi (uniform) is which many countries have adopted and is from the Yoruba people. but then again before the white people came, there was no borders!! we are all one and people attack me, Im senegalese and Nigerian
    Diam ak kheweul rekk
