Kinda late,I know,but the converter converts everything into midi, including the voices,so the midi is trying to play the song and the lyrics at the same time,and since your brain realizes that it has a 99% chance to be that song,it just fills in the lyrics with what it knows,that's why you can hear it in some parts, but soem you can't
@@spaghtti It's the harmonics combining and your brain actually interprets it as differrent vowel sounds: A E I O U. When you sing a single note. That note is actually an entire infinite series of over tones that you perceive as a single frequency. Because of this, The midi converter basically interprets the voice as a bunch of notes. Also the voice isn't always perfectly in tune and slides up and down seemlessly, which is what causes the all the chromatic spaghetti sounding stuff. The thing is though is that these chromatic pitches are actually inside the notes in differrent degrees of strength and normally you just can't directly perceive them. Different instruments sound different, because of variations in the strength of the pitches, of the harmonic series inside of each individual note they produce. The voice is addmitedly actually way more complicated and diverse then any instrument. There is a lot of harmonics in your voice. In conclusion the vowels sounds: A E I O U are directly correlated to certain configurations of harmonics and if there is enough of it in the music, you hear vowel sounds. Wah wah pedals are a good example of this effect being taken advantage of. You can hold your speaker to your mouth with simple instrumental music and get it to sound like it has words in it or rather the music will sound like words. TBH, though most of these if not all videos are fake and it just has the recording impeded in it. So it's the midi converted mess with the song playing very quietly and muffled. That's why there isn't tons of examples of these and honestly there's no way midi can produce the sound of drums with a bunch of chromatic notes. That's just not real. This one is actually really convincing though, because I can't hear drums in it.

Voice is really just a series of sounds, so it can be somewhat replicated through means other than vocal cords. It's a similar idea to using Japanese Ronald McDonald to recreate Undertale songs.
its an illusion created by your brain since the midi file makes the right frequencies of a voice and your brain thinks it’s hearing a voice and just corrects it.
honestly it does a pretty good job of artificially recreating the words

I feel like this is less a midi maker and more "distort and add a cat walking across a piano." It's entertaining as hell, but every song I've put in sounds like a faded version of the tune under a drunk person trying to be Chopin.
The reason you hear the lyrics is because the singers are trying to get out, but the Skeletons' spook power is just too strong

I think I know what's happening with the vocals. The converter seems to be generating the notes based off the wavelengths of the instruments. Of course, it can't distinguish instruments and vocals. The synth notes are recreating the speech sounds in the same way that a speaker does! That is *horribly* disturbing.
maybe, if the maximum amount of channels was increased, then this could actually be a viable sound compression method?
Viable? Probably.
Pleasant? No.
The converter probably applies a Fourier transform to the audio and then transposes that to MIDI. This form of compression is already used by lossy audio formats (mp3, ogg), so technically this process has already been invented.

I think I used to do something similar on my 3DS using the 8-bit filter. When it worked JUST RIGHT, you could make out the words.
