The most I spend on this game is buying the battle pass twice a month and when there's really cheap CC sales like 16 or 17 bucks when that comes around, but I save my CC for ultra characters ONLY, and I have gogeta 4 ultra 14 stars, Gohan ultra 14 stars, Vegito blue ultra 14 stars, its not hard to play this game and either not spend money or spend lightly and still be successful, its just people want every new character, and waste all their cc every month and when really busted characters come out you have no CC, it takes about 50k to 14 star an ultra for me so I always have that much just lying around on my game no matter what the Meta is, because at any given moment the devs could release something super busted and you're stuck, now is the game toxic? Yup with terrible lag and Terrible game matching, matches become unplayable at times but you don't have to spend a ton of money to enjoy legends, just save your cc and summon for characters that benefit your play style, or just go after fusion Ultras or hybrid Ultras because they are always going to be busted🤷🏿♂️
