Thank you for posting! You saved me a whole lot of frustration! 👍🏻
You’re welcome! Glad to hear that you found the video helpful.

Thank you so much! You've saved my sanity! I haven't seen this reason given in any other video - most of them claim it's to do with thread tension or an incorrectly threaded machine. To the people who've commented here saying they don't see the solution, moving the needle to its highest position should automatically pull the thread across in the bobbin case. My machine makes a little clunking noise when the needle reaches the top. ☺
Thanks for the feedback!
I’m actually surprised at the number of views the video has gotten. 😎
My mother always said to take needle to highest point (by turning hand wheel towards you) to remove fabric.
Good habits you learn as a child and never forget!
I’d love to know if you’ve any other tips. It’s amazing what we don’t get taught as beginners 😢
so did you solve the problem? Im sorry but I don't see any solution in ur video
Yes. I just needed to make sure that the thread rotated to the 12:00 to 3:00 position in the bobbin casing. No more tangles or snags. LOL
Thanks for asking.
😎
Same here 😂
I didnt find the solution
what if I can't see the thread, there is a metal plate?
@@stylingtips8766 Can you slide the metal plate off?
These are the details needed in the beginner sewing tutorial! Thank you!
👍😎
OMG!! You are a lifesaver I've been having this problem and I have tried any and everything thinking it's got to be something way more difficult than that. Instant fix..... Thank you so very much!!!
You’re welcome! Glad to hear that you found the video helpful. 👍😎
This happened to me too and it was quite frustrating because I didn’t know what caused the problem.
I hope the video helped.
@@HacksbyDad No did not help. What is the solution?
Thanks so much! I have had so much trouble with this yet I haven't seen any explanation!
To avoid this if your machine has need me up/down button use it. If not then key off the take up lever and not the needle. The needle will travel up and then drop ever so slightly as the takeup lever needs to hit its peak. Ps never turn you hand wheel backwards.
do how to take fabric out when needle is down?
I wish I understood what you mean 😢
You helped me solve a problem unrelated to this video. I was trying to find out how the thread was supposed to be coming off of the bobbin after threading. I noticed in the video your bobbin thread was coming over the top of the bobbin and mine was coming off on the right side of the bobbin (if any of this makes sense, LOL. Anyway I rethreaded the bobbin making sure it came off over the bobbin and my stitch was perfect. Thank you for the unintentional help.
You’re welcome! 👍😎
thank you so much
👍😎
Thank you for posting I kept having the same problem!
👍😎
saved me frustration as well haha, thanks for the short and sweet solution
👍
I'm going through this now!!😂😂😂
Thank you! Problem solved!
👍😎
I don’t understand how his video or what 3 o clock position means but this keeps happening!!
Thank you for this video I've been struggling to find the solution to this!!!
😋😎
Does this have anything with the take up lever? I had the same issue, so does that mean if the take up lever is at the highest position, it also makes it rotated to the 12 to 3 position?
I would think so, but I’m not exactly sure. I just peek into the bobbin casing to see where the top thread is and use the hand wheel to place it in the 12 to 3 position. No snags or tangles since I started doing this.
😎
Thanks ! Just got the machine and was going through the same 😅
👍😎
Thank you
Thanks man..i was going crazy
You’re welcome! I guess this is a common problem.
Thank you!
👍😎
Life saver very helpful
Glad to hear that you found the video helpful. Thanks for the feedback.

I have same machine and needle not picking up bobbin thread , please help me
I have a problem with my Quantum Stylist 9960 .. my Needleis not picking up the bottom thread bobbin .. can anyone HELP PLZ .. my machine is Brandell. I only used it twice.
Thanks
👍😎
I have also had that happen when the machine is not threaded properly. I have learned how to test to see that the machine is properly threaded. Fyi.
Please tell us 👍🏼
@paigeturner165 all I do is take a scrap piece of fabric, usually from the same fabric I am using for my project and make a seam.
When you stop sewing, manually adjust the machine for your arm to be at the very top position, then remove the fabric. Also, when you start to sew, manually adjust so you start with your needle in the fabric. Is your needle right justified? I was told to keep it center justified unless doing a zipper. Just an observation.
Actually, when it happens to me, it's because I didn't hold my thread tails.
Use the wheel, still holding threads put a stitch or two in it, then release the tail threads.
Thanks. I’ll try it the next time I sit at the sewing machine.
😎
This problem is caused by threading the machine with the presser foot in the down position. Make sure the presser foot is up.
I am going to check my pressure foot next time. I know i had the pressure foot down so I could thread the needle... How do you undo the damage that I caused with the pressure foot up while threading? TIA.
You're speaking of one revolution clearing 3 o clock. which I do a complete revolution every time I thread my bobbin. My issue occurs many stitches after the beginning. The bobbin seizes when top thread gets wound in bobbin spool. Maybe bobbin tension is too tight?
Sorry... I guess yours is a different issue.
BUT HOW DO YOU GET IT TO GO ALL THE WAY AROUND X_x
I need help
I had this exact problem today and was ready to throw my sewing machine out the window...
🤣😎
Not working for me😢
How did you make sure the top thread wont snag?
Before pulling the threads, use the hand wheel to turn the top thread to the 3 o’clock position in the bobbin case. That worked for me. 😎
I have this problem currently. I tried everything to fix it. I don't fully understand how to fix it- could you explain please? Im so sorry to ask
Sure! Just make sure that the top thread is between the 12 to 3 o’clock positions before pulling it out. That should stop the tangling. It works for me.
Hey ty,that was happening to me too, many times! Now I know what to do…. BUT I have a different problem now: the top thread is not catching the bobbin thread, instead it is getting tangled, showing the thread going in a very similar way than in your video. Any advice??
Sorry... I haven't experienced that problem. Not sure how to solve it unless I see it. 🤷🏻♂
Wish I could be more help.
Mee too, did u find a solution??
Your machine is out of time. Or out of clock. There other videos showing how to adjust the timing. Mine does same thing.
Mine just won’t clear the casing at all, even without me touching the bobbin thread to pull it through. I’m ready to give up. Sewing machines are too much hassle
Sorry to hear that. Are you sure that the bobbin casing is properly seated?
@@HacksbyDad It sure seemed like it was. It sorta righted itself when I held it taught, so I just have to mindfully hold the thread to get it started. Haven't tossed the machine yet lol
@@MsPoliteRants 👍😎
I tried it and still not fixing it 😢
Sorry… something else could be wrong. 🤷🏻♂️
This is happening when I'm trying to catch the bobbin thread. Please some one explain in simple terms how to fix it. I really want to get back to sewing and I've spend 2 days trying to fix it
Did u find a solution? Struggling here
@@bestyourubeman2177 No, I didn't. I would recommend cleaning your machine and making sure your bobbin thread is hooked properly. It was a temporary fix but it helped
I have this issue! I end up with 2 top threads. What is the point of showing it fixed after the issue if you don’t show how you fixed it.
The fix is to remove the top thread only when it is between the 12 and 3 o’clock positions in the bobbin casing. Hope that helps.
😎
@@HacksbyDad Thanks for replying. That works at that time but the issue keeps happening every time I sew after a few inches, it happens while I sew, causing a jam, not while removing the fabric.
@@SparkyOne549 OK, that's a different problem. The troubleshooting guide in the user/owner's manual might have the answer. I would start by adjusting and experimenting with the tension. Sorry that I couldn't be more help.
😕
@@HacksbyDad It doesn’t have any mention of this issue at all. My machine is an entry level mechanical. I will switch to using my trusty old 1970’s machine that’s more heavy duty than todays heavy duties. Thanks anyways, take care!
@@HacksbyDad I found out the issue. Tried everything first. Last resort was using it for parts. Lol I realized my machine has a panel under the feed dogs. I removed the panel, saw the issue, it was a 4” piece of thread jammed between 2 gears, after turning manually, I was able to remove it. Put it all together and sewed without an issue, so far lol
So the singer machines are trash then?
Needle not catching thread from bobbin how can solve it ?
Sorry, I haven't experienced that problem.
make sure when inserting the bobbin that you are inserting the bobbin in a P shape and not a 9 shape: meaning the thread should come off to the left.
once i its inserted into the case, you need to run the thread through the guide. the guide in in the bobbin case, its a little notch on the left side.
then once you being to turn the knob, the top thread should sweep over and catch the bobbin thread, continue to turn slowly and then grab the loop, or "catch the fish" and now both threads are prepared to sew.
@@Shanaynay1010 yes but then the top thread does what his thread is doing in the video. Ending up with two top threads.
@@DoomsdayApparatus honestly i stopped my learning process bc i cant figure out how to avoid that! smh teririble i know
Ok....I did that...& it's Still jamming- Bad underneath. What is Going on?!?!?! I just wanna sew a cute outfit for my daughter & this machine & I are at Odds-All Jammed Up!!! 🤔🙄😒😬🤗 Dang It!!
Sorry… I don’t know. 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe adjusting the tension will help?
I followed online user manual instructions for tension settings at 4 and exactly how to thread upper spool and bobbin. And make sure my upper guide arm is in UP position before removing material and wallah!
Pls. If you can explain it in Spanish. Need help im frustrated. 😢😢
Ok but how do u fix it‼️ need a visual demonstration 😂
Before pulling the threads… make sure the top thread is in the 3 o’clock position. That’s what worked for me and got rid of my frustration. No mechanical fix was needed.
It’s a timing issue
so you was just pulling on the thread. not what causes the top thread to not latch
i cant find any infermation about TAOTA sewing machines why is this so
🤷🏻♂️
1300 pm wtf dose that mean ding dong
1300 pm? What video were you watching? LOL
Please how to fix this problème?
Turn the wheel until the top thread in the bobbin casing is in between the 12 and 3 o’clock position.
😎
@@HacksbyDad i’ll tray , thanks 😊
@@gacem.hassina 👍
Wrong bobbin, the bobbin you have in there is to tall.
I’m intrigued. I’m a newbie. Is it VITAL only to use Janome bobbins in a Janome machine (I just bought a Janome) I’d love your advice ❤
Just throw it in the garbage.
How to fix the machine if the cloth doesns't move.
Sorry, I haven't run across that problem... yet.
Put your feed dogs up
