From some concerts in 2002 and 2007 you see big difference in his look.I was watching him here as one old man who is full with energy still,as a great teacher of life,as a human being which is ready to give all the best of himself until the end no matter what is going to happen'.Born great, died great! Our teacher of life, not just of music!!!
RIP
Totally well said, man. My son is called Josef, for istance, is it enough?
What a bass player , incredible.
Zawinul is the best not only with Weather Report but with anybody who play good fussion jazz.what a talent! to bad he is gone but his music is still part of my life!

The best band I have ever seen including weather report
@AlexKalicinski From Mauritius.. :p currently one of the best bassit in the world.. Linley Marthe. Really proud being a Mauritian because of people like him..!! he is a god of the bass..!!!
I always come back to Zawinul...the greatest musician/visionary since Miles....no one since.....everything is retro since....
Thank you Joe Zawinul. You gave us beautiful music that knew no boundaries. It embraced our planet and fused its many colours into a vibrant energy of pure joy.
he has to be the most modest prodigy ever. that performance was amazing and he hardly seems satisfied. if that was me performing i would be crowd surfing with champagne after that song.
thank you joe. you were simply wonderful man. RIP
Yeah I feel you there. I was lucky enough to see him at a NAMM show performance in 89 in Anaheim in 89 with Scott Henderson on guitar which was a life changing experience and later in roughly 2004 at the Hollywood Bowl which was sooo damn good that I was actually crying!!! For real! He was an amazing player and MD!
Thanks Joe for everything!
Peace
Badia is such a beautiful song! I just love the Ndugu singing part!!!
GREAT-BIG RESPECT to the ZAWINUL SYNDICATE
RIP Joe what a gift you gave us.
Dear Mr. Joe ! It;s a magic for me
It is evident in Mr.Zawinul face the disease he was facing however he has the courage to play as always. Wonderful music

Im a drummer over 45 years, The other JZ has been part of my molecular structor (my soul)since 1978
I was there, amazing concert...zawinul rocked.
God I loved this man's playing!
Zawinul / Zappa. Last aliens left the planet... From A to Z!
Two of my favorites.
Sadly you are right. Almost. Check out Tigran Hamasyan. Same level and many special turns you never heard before. He is in his 30ies...!!
he is my all time fav musician-and i play BASS.
Great! The title was BADIA/BOOGIE WOOGIE WALTZ. Great to hear two of his Weather Report classics. I am slightly worried though by his frail appearance. I saw him only recently (about a year ago) and he looked much more healthy than at this concert. Hopefully he`s OK.
So long, Joe ...
Another Eagle has flown ... Hope to see you in the City of Music ... the City of Jazz ...
I heard the Eagle's call, I heard the Eagle's Cry, across the Sky
a charming story...
peace
That bassist....damn
Joe really knows who to pick
yes, the master was already in treatment at the late '90;s, when I met him in an interview. What a creative mind... This song is originally from the "Tale spinning ' LP
best music, completely free
BAD ASS! RIP Joe.
The body is ill; but soul still alive and high ! R.I.P.

Really REALLY IMPRESSIVE>>> sounds completely different from what i've ever heard...
Joe was supposedly hospitalized as soon as he returned from this tour. If he's sick, it sure as hell doesn't show.
hey Joe
I Was Here!
According to the Associated Press, he was admitted to a Vienna hospital last Sunday (5 August) with an undisclosed illness.
Linley meilleur que bona
Foundations from Mystirious Traveller
bass player is bad ass
@AlexKalicinski The whole band, man... The whole band...
Copy cats? is that some kind of criticism? Joe WAS Weather Report - this is HIS tune! How can he be copying himself???? The Syndicate versions of this tune totally kick ass and after seeing WR 7 times, I would rather see this line up play this tune than anyone in the past.
very good music though
Is there any video of "Nubian Sundance"? Id so, where?
when I posted that I didnt know that that was joe in this video I thought it was someone trying to look like him that is why I said copy-cat, but now I know. You should be more respectful and try not to judge without knowing the full story :-)
Jerusalema
No começo toca berimbau!!!
Sim... o brasileiro Alegre Correa que também toca guitarra!
what is your problem wadiallahsalim i have only know about weather report for a few weeks, im not going to memorize what they look like and what all there names are.
Compare this to the junk people listen to no comparison.
75, two weeks to live, arthritis.....What's our excuse?
this is great! but why does JZ use that awful fucking brass synth preset instead of the real thing, it just sucks so bad.
Weather report copy-cats
