  • Welcome to lesson 1. This is where we explore the basics of polymer clay cutter (or cookie cutter) making and design with Fusion 360. We will go through the basics of creating a simple circle cutter and the different ways.
We will explore the sketch tool, offset, extrude x2, thicken and more.
Let me know what else you would like to see.
I would love to know what else you want to learn about Fusion 360/clay cutter design. Feel free to look at my designs in my cults3d shop below to let me know if there are any you would like me to recreate.
If you would like to visit what clay/cookie cutter stls I have for sale, you can find them here: cults3d.com/en...

Love Love love your videos!! so clear and useful!! Once you make the design, what do you have to do to pass it to the printer? can you maybe do a video with a full process? thanks!!

With the saved .stl file, you have to open it in a slicer program, there are several available, my preference is Cura. This program then slices the files into g-code which is what the 3d printer needs to print it. This g-code file is then saved to an SD card, this then goes into the printer and you print that file. Slicer software can look initidimating as there are a lot of settings that control your printer but there are loads of videos available to help with understanding what these settings do, plus in cura if you hover over the setting it pops up a window that explains what that setting does x

Such a well explained way to get designing with! We own a 3D printer and I have been wanting to design my own clay cutters to print but didn't know where to start. Thank you for posting this vid and I'll keep watching this series :)

fusion 360 is expensive but they will often offer discounts on membership over the year and also you can look into applying for a start up licence, if successful they will grant you a free year of full fusion 360 that you can renew on application 2 more times to have upto max 3 years free if successful.
