Maybe not a priest. Probably John the disciple Jesus loved and the 3 Marys. John wrote the Gospel of John and wrote Revelation from the island of Patmos. He was the only male to remain at the crucifixtion
A beautiful cemetery and looks big. Glad you had great weather after a 3 hour drive...That awesome stone is I agree the best one I've seen also. What a mystery? Thanx Sue for a wonderful tour. I so enjoyed it. Have a blessed St. Patrick's Day❤😊❤😊
Awesome headstone! Nice finding a Mulholland. Probably a relative to the namesake of Mulholland Drive. The Los Angeles Mulholland was originally from Antrim. I am still looking for where my dad's Irish roots came from. Have you ever came across a Highland or Hyland. Supposedly from kingdom of Thomond and related to Mulholland. Enjoyed the vid!
Great Video thank you to for doing it great history y'all have done to documented this wonderful cemetery, Also happy st patrick's day we will be celebrating it with an Amercan meal corn beef and cabbage done in genesee beer remeber you cook it and all the alcohol is gone this time I going to rost the potatoes and carrots separate in a roasting pan The cornbeef with onion and celery and beer
Look at you with 30K subs. Woohoo 🎉🎉.Amazing walkabout Sue. I did some digging on that magnificent stone, you know me!! Anywho, it's an ornamental screen from behind a church altar in Kilkerley. During transport a wheel broke on the cart and the movers found it more convenient to stand it on a nearby unmarked grave. (I think we used the same site for research, lol.). The stonemason must have been one of the best in the business at the time. So glad you didn't have any mishaps up in the boggy section. Take care please. Deb of Oz XXX
Oh I'm glad it wasn't broken and how nice they chose an unmarked grave to place this on. That makes me feel better. Imagine all that work it took to chisel this by hand
I always enjoy you videos. Your beautiful Irish accent, your love of history, along with your respectful narration, always seems to calm my over thinking mind. Thank you so much my lovely xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
Hello Sue, hope you’re keeping well. You’re so right about that beautiful Grave Stone with the Cherubs+Our Lord on it, but that skull was so creepy+its teeth were even more creepy!!! But how beautiful is it, the workmanship that’s gone into it is just amazing, they don’t make them like this any more!!! I love the house of Patrick Pirate+the story behind it…!!! Beautiful Graveyard, but very uneven by looks of it!!! A lovely explore…!!! Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s haunted…Aren’t most (if not all) haunted!!! You+GV take care+I look forward to your next adventure!!! X❤️🙃👻
Greetings, Serenity Sue & G.V. that was an amazing headstone, the craftsmanship of the stonemason was intricate, the skull was creepy though. I like the tiny church that had the Celtic cross embedded in the wall, very gorgeous. It was on the right near the end of the video, but I seen a small Celtic cross grave with small stone pillars. If that cemetery is rumored to be haunted, it would be cool to do a Night investigation. Thanks for showing us these amazing places, I like the castles in the background as well. God Bless You Both!!! -Brian.
Another great video Sue and GV ! That stone of the crucifixion is magnificent ! So much detail! I wish it had a date on it. It is a beautiful cemetery ! Thanks !
What a beautiful graveyard!🥰 This is probably something you already know, but just as a reminder, Sue, please be careful walking near gravestones that lean heavily. They have been known to fall, and folks have been seriously injured. I would hate for either of you to be hurt!😕 Take care!
Absolutely Stunning!! Such History!!! And Sue you are braver then I !! I could never walk around a Cemetery that old, I would be splayed out on my back!! 😂 Bless You and GV!! Love Your Channels!! And Greetings from NY.❤️🪦🪬🪦❤️
One very beautiful headstone 🪦 Very interesting graveyard, looks like someone is trying to take care of it, to some degree. As far as that story about the skull 💀 is concerned, there may be some truth to it. One thing I have learned in my readings; You do not screw around with someone's grave. You may be inviting a very bad response. Thank you very much Sue and GV, for another interesting video. Take care. 😊
Hi sue just viewed your stream. Sorry about being a little late, one of my friends died of a heart attack haveing a pint. What away to go. Anyway another superb video, that headstone was exstrodany I've never seen anything like that. Also the pirate place a bit strange, perhaps it was robbed, people might have thought there was treasure in there. Nice one sue. Happy paddies day to you both.
BEAUTIFUL headstone Sue 😮 Well worth the 3 hours travel..Definitely believe all graveyards must be haunted maybe you and GV will visit here again at night 😮😊❤
Great depiction of the solar crossing. Sun of god. all sun worship. Sun is in the ground (below horizon) from Dec 23 to Dec 26 every year. Congratulations on your interpretation.
The grave stone with the skull and the three Mary’s is truly a work of art. Hopefully it doesn’t fall and the work that went into it, because the work was engraved so deeply it will last a few more centuries for sure. I wonder how long it took to carve all that out and I bet it cost a pretty penny. Thanks for the adventure!
I can't imagine the time it took to make, hammer and chisel, I wonder was there more than one stone mason working on it to get the job done. Crazy to think of
That marker is so beautiful unlike any i have ever seen. I wonder if the man with the 3 women could possibly be John whom Our Lord charged with caring The Blessed Virgin his mother. It is sad there is no name there. All the stones that are too eroded to read & the unmarked graves always make me sad. I enjoyed this video very much
My farther took me to visit here when I was a child. Skulls and bones were sitting outside of the graves. Also, you missed a table top grave for a person killed in the San Francisco earthquake.
@31:51 Look at the head stones and notice the lean in the back ground, And even this monument looks tilted the same, Yes I know perspective is everything but the ones in the back aren't, In collage I seconded in Geology my Major was Paleontology. I just love see times effects on objects.
Sad about the young ones😢But they are in Heaven😇The headstone was amazing❤ Great craftsmanship❤Details were so awesome His toes were so detailed❤I wish they would put a roof to protect it❤ Its starting to wear away😢 Great video❤ Stay warm❤
All of the above I would say, especially decoration as we see so many different types, from the simple chain to the more decorative rails. I do wonder too if it marked their family plot too
14:36 I’m thoroughly confused…..could Jane have been John’s stepmother? Because according to my math(and please correct me if I’m wrong) Jane would have been about 4 years old when John was born…..Jane was born in 1789, and John was born in 1793.

Correct. Three Mary’s at the foot of the cross while Martha was at home doing all the work for the Repast!
That carved gravestone is simply a work of art... It's just beautiful and so different.. great video Sue ❤
I totally agree!
That grave stone is the most intricate one I have ever seen. Thanks for taking the long drive and sharing all of this with us.

Lovely blue sky.. Beautiful headstone.Pity there is no date or name..🙏
The beautiful Christ headstone must have cost a fortune. Any idea how much hand carved stones cost at that time?
Thank you Abigail ❤️
I couldn't even guess
I am moved by the fact that the stone depiction of the crucifixion is blood red.
Such a beautiful stone
Just found yesteerdays,lovely cemetery

Hi Sue just wondering what it said on the symbol on the grave Rose Murphy? Was it Victoria??
Which one was that, can you time stamp it please
26.25 the one that had the vines cleaned off it! Thank you
Gloria in excelsis Deo" is a Christian hymn known also as the Greater Doxology and the Angelic Hymn/Hymn of the Angels.
My farther took me to visit here when I was a child. Skulls and bones were sitting outside of the graves. Also, you missed a table top grave for a person killed in the

No way, wonder where they came from
So sorry I missed the live feed today. I was tied up in a meeting. Will be there next time. 😥
No worries Yada, see you soon, thank you ❤️
the 1800's seems so far away i can't relate
It does
cherubs always creep me out a bit there always on the old spooky head stone
I love them

Beautiful head stone so stunning. That one with the snake round it could be a medical symbol but also you can see a skull next to it
Oh yes, it could be, thanks Denise
I think the man next to Jesus mother was the Apostle John. The cross around his neck was a bit early in history. This cemetery is incredible!
Thank you ❤️
Why do some people put the iron rails around the graves and some dont? Are they put up for a reason? Decoration or stopping thieves or something
All of the above I would say, especially decoration as we see so many different types, from the simple chain to the more decorative rails. I do wonder too if it marked their family plot too
