Well done John for exploring your Greek roots. As a Greek Historian, I can say that the judicial system hasn’t changed much and your great grand mother was a strong woman to sell her farm and deal with this tragedy during that period.
John, keep going with your family journey, You are very Honorable. I met Your Lovely Mother at Pachanga when You and The Beach Boys played there together. I told her how proud I was of you and you continued kindness towards others. I took have family from Greece, and my DNA studies have shown me that my Ancestors come from all over the world. God bless you and your family.
As an interesting off the record side note, may I add that there was a historian named John Koliopoulos who worked with a Historian who is still around and who is considered by many as a Judas for tampering with Greek History so to make Greeks look bad or not feel proud, obviously there are foreign interests in this and it’s not uncommon. I wouldn’t be surprised if Koliopoulos was related, despite it being a common surname, he was also a John Koliopoulos
Pretty much sums up every greek family's history. The country and its people have gone through A LOT. Do you know Greece suffered the biggest financial destruction after WWII, even worse than defeated Germany? And yet, had to come back with no war reparations and somehow other countries are shocked it didn't thrive like northern European countries 🤡
John, we had family members killed in a land dispute in Greece around that time. My great grandfather, Yeorgios was killed by the German Paratroopers in the Pelaponese Mountains. The city of widows. Greeks are strong people.
Αt least both in rita s wilson story but also in john stamos story we saw that greece is not a tropical country as tourists think in the usa but actually it snows in winter and rains in autumn spring and sometimes summer
Maybe it was a vendeta thing. Many families have dislocated in Greece for that reason, because it can last up to 3 generations. I hope Stamos doesn't get any ideas of revenging this
People were separated in Venizelos vs King Constantine supporters and killed each other for politics. So politics is something you should keep in mind, till 1974 when we end up with kings.
In 1905? NahhhVenizelos wasn't even in Greece yet it was probably an honor thing, it was very common in the period, people could lose their lives for the slightest insults - ESPECIALLY in southern Greece
No, it is still early for the feuds between Venizelos and King supporters. This must have been of a personal nature and don’t forget, this “Judas” had a reputation.
I've never understood that logic oh I didn't have any love or affection from a male father figure and understand that yet rather than making sure your own offspring don't experience the same pain that's the so called justified reason why you don't show your own kids love? TF?
lol people make me laugh. As he gets the news his thoughts run to 'who murdered my grandfather?' he wants to unlock that but completely minimises the fact of 'your family was one of the heaviest gangsta mobs in the area' lol.. I'd be like really? tell me more!

Stamos still looks D amazing!
Koliopoulos and Stamatopoulos are still common surnames in Peloponnese
This is a great series, I like finding out about celebrities family histories.
More handsome now than young
I agree!
So many men are, including my husband 😊
He is handsome but when he was young , I think, he was gorgeous

My Greek great-grandfathers siblings were all killed by the Turks (genocide) then my grandfather was shot and left for dead by Germans in WW2

Τούρκοι και Γερμανοί πάντα σύμμαχοι εναντίον του Ελληνισμού
Heartbreaking
What an important journey to go through
The Gods are crying… very nice John Stamos!
I had no business having a crush on him like 30 years ago.. hahaha but he still looks so young and wow! 😂❤

Very interesting series , many thanks!
That is cool to know about your history when you come from and things❤
I finished the Merchant Naval Academy. My roomate's family name is Kakouris. I wonder if there's a connection. Great video.
Really!!? Cut it off in the most exciting moment? 😔
This is just a snippet. The whole story is later. But you can see if it’s out already.
And they left us at a cliff hanger? : /
Αt least both in rita s wilson story but also in john stamos story we saw that greece is not a tropical country as tourists think in the usa but actually it snows in winter and rains in autumn spring and sometimes summer
He is aging in reverse

How sad.
My grandparents from Greece had a farm in Kakouri, Greece
I visited there once when I was 3 years old
Judas is someone that is a snitch or a trader

Vendeta probably. Southern Greece, Peloponissos. Villages were even bombing each other with canons in late 19th century 😂😂

It is stated that the murderer’s family (Koliopoulos) was known to be gangsters, not Stamos’ family (Stamatopoulos).
@@locatina2241 oh i must have misheard. Mind you I'm interested in hearing about the 'crime of passion'
@@thevocalcroneAs we all are 😅
@@thevocalcrone It was not crime of passion. It was a crime in the heat of the moment. A term to describe that it was not pre meditated.
@@locatina2241 That is probably why they left Greece. Lot of Vendetta going on at that time. Even today in Crete.
