The totems instead of playing actual cards made me cringe!
This is the most frustrating thing I've seen Trump do. He passed up every late game card that would've been infinitely better yet trades until turn 7+, which he has nothing for.
8:00 - He played Arena Fanatic and Bogslosher to get Fungalmancer value, instead of just evolving fungal and chain gang into 8 drops.

@@WeeklyMusicalShitposts It's a classic Trump play. I recall an arena run from a year or two ago that has stuck with me. He was Rogue and amassed a pretty high attack weapon with multiple durabilities but every turn he would use it to kill a weak minion like a 1/2 instead of going face. He threw that game so hard.
For those who are confused about the intro: Trump is talking about the draft changes from January 9th, but Jens showed the patch notes from December. If you listen to what Trump says you'll see it aligns with the brief notes from the 9th.

@@sora8711 Trump's position: Bloodlust seems like a total waste if you trade everything. Everyone else: WELL DUH.
Skipped bloodlust, skipped commander fully knowing he has no catch up or enough card draws for cycle, he keep making these silly decisions I'm actually seriously reconsider if he's actually any good at HS, none of the other streamers I've watched, even the lower ranked ones makes even remotely the same amount of mistakes or just straight up dumb decisions per video/stream than Trump does.
Nico Trump isn't the best at aggro decks, but he's still good at other hearthstone.

Hi, if you actually watched the video you would see that the Lightforge rates Bloodlust higher and Hearth Arena rates the Shard higher. You would have also noticed Trumps saying he does not like bloodlust. You are allowed to not like a card even if it is statistically better. Its not about me being smarter than Trump its about trusting people who exclusively play arena. Funny lol
pwnmasteh he says in the beginning that ratings don’t matter. I think you are also being too literal. When Trump says he doesn’t like, I assumed he means that he thinks the card is worse in this deck. I assume that because Trump is smart.

jesus that 3-2 game was terrible. I know he doesn't do arena but too many noobs wait for unstable and spend their whole turn on it. Doing just 1-4 evolutions on fungle mancer is insane tempo and is often game winning if the board is even.
Yeah I woulda get that fungal so high mana like you said 4 evo on it and he woulda won probably. Still fun to watch.

Oh my god yeah, this turn made me yell at my screen. This is the most anti-tempo play he could make, and then a turn after he goes "after all, this deck is about tempo"... infuriating.
Paused the video and scrolled straight to the comments after that turn. So many ways to win if he goes face and unstables. So bad for his deck if he trades. Just terrible.

With so little board clears and catchup cards, I'm not really surprised at the result. Painful to watch some of those games though. _Never lucky._
rather than nerfing the saronite chain gang's ability to use hand buffs to take down shudderwock, they should have changed the battlecry to "Summon a saronite chain gang with the same stats as this one." That might actually still be bad in shudderwock because it summons a 6/6, (iirc), but debuffing a generally good card just because of an OP AF card so that OP AF card is weaker is sucky.
They could have even made it "with the same enchantments" so Val'Anyr and similar cards could work. But no :D
I completely agree. Saronite Chain Gang was an extremely good addition to hand buff decks and the fact that it got hit so badly just because Shudderwock exists was a dumb bad call from Blizzard.
Changing the text to summoning another Saronite Chain Gang with the same stats as the summoned minion would have been enough. True, it would make the Shudderwock combo get a big board but they wouldn't be able to go infinite, just get a hand/board with a bunch of saronites (also if the Grumble effect goes almost last or last the board would not even be threatening)

Trump gets these ideas that he's building an arena Deck with some theme, except the theme is terrible (tempo, no big cards!) and he doesn't actually follow it (loot hoarder, menacing nimbus, and dire wolf alpha are not tempo 2-drops)
The theme wasn't that terrible imo, he could've drafted a really sick deck if he changed couple of picks. He drafted bad and also played bad.
Theme was there, but he played it control and value...
I haven't watched one of his arena runs for years, and I'm so surprised how bad he is.

You gotta draft mid-range shaman my man. I've been doing arenas all week and mid-range shaman is the way to go, and unstable evolution is literally the best card you can get. So far I'm 8-3 8-3 8-3 3-3 and 9-3 and have a current run at 3-0.
Also Dragonslayer is a must pick imo. Still lots of warriors with dragons roar.

With a deck full of low cost cards, an Earth Elemental or two would have been nice. The overload means less if you have low cards.

I think the real problem is that it is a control heavy meta right now so tempo decks don't really work in the current meta. Too many cheap taunts, board clears, and ways to punish full boards, like tar creeper, mass hysteria, spreading plague, drywhisker armorer, warpath, duskbreaker, defile, etc etc etc.
All cheap and effective ways to just crush the swarm strategies. That's all by turn 6 or before.
Also going 2nd is mostly just an instant loss for your deck.

I’ve recently installed hearthstone on my computer and when i play it on my 2nd account (I can’t get my main) a weird colour glitch happens where all blues are orange and visversa and red is purple and it’s not just hearthstone It also happens on WoW but I can’t find any solutions when I look it up and it’s not my account because it happens on 3rd account I made so I think it’s the battle net app do u know what this is (it may also have to do with the fact i the game a couple times I think because I just got my first laptop)
for both applications go to the actual exe files for the games and right click it, go to properties and then to compatibility and put a checkmark next to "disable full screen optimizations". has to be the hearthstone/wow exe file, not the blizzard launcher

Your use of unstable evolution is questionable at best. Round 3, full board of potential vs taunts. Just hit 10 Mana. Easy evolution targets like fungalmancer? Nope! Ram everything into the face of taunts and wipe my whole board!
There are plenty more episodes of bad UE use in the earlier games too

You mean his arena draft assist tool? deck trackers only show cards you have in your deck.
Besides, Standalone cards are really good in arena, I usually look for good stats rather than synergy. Synergy gets me fucked in Arena most of the time because you wont meet the condition for your synergy.

Trump, the one popular HS streamer who still think he's good at this game.
People who have been playing this game for years now are actually getting better, but for some reason, Trump's getting worse and worse at HS it's mind boggling. Very questionable decision making on picks, playing a deck archetype the wrong way. I'm almost certain that most your viewers can actually play the game better than you do Trump. It's usually amusing to watch your fallout and making fun of your dumb plays, but it's getting old now, and it actually kind of sad. Jens talents are the only reason why I've kept watching, but even those are far and between now. Unsubbing...
You're right, I don't know why I keep watching this garbage.
I prefer watching him play for fun than playing to win all the time.
