Those central lifts were built by Schindler in the 90s, not sure about the intelligent levelling but the Whitgift didn't have any lifts when it opened in 1970 other than in the shops
+Beno yeah I find it weird they didn't have customer lifts but they did have some spinny ramps (which people messed about on) and travelators, and stairs and escalators. It used to be an open air centre but they rebuilt the section between the square and M&S in 1988, and the square and bit to Allders got rebuilt in 1995. The bit to Wellesley road got rebuilt in 1999. It will be shutting in May to rebuild the centre and will reopen in 2019
+Sam Sitar It is a controlled deceleration (using DC PWM in these Schindlers). The lift slows down perfectly as it approaches the floor. There is no leveling speed.
I was just at Whitgift today :3

+Tom Bowell I didn't know that. I had always wondered what lifts the center used to have. It seems very odd that it didn't have any passenger lifts.

+Beno Next time in Turnbridge Wells, can you ride the main glass lift?
Those main lifts at the Whitgift Centre seem really fast! 4:22
3:47 Level 3 is complete
Why Did You Film The Lifts In The Whigift Centre First
they have the same buses In Wycombe bucks but not all the busses are the same because they are new
+Beno What does it mean when you say 'Intelligent levelling', mate? :)
Slows down from full speed to a stop perfectly at the floor without levelling.
7th comment, yay! Just joking :P can't wait to see more of the Whitgift centre! :)
cool
what is intelligent leveling?

I think it is called Dashboard
Shame theonly wrightbuses have a stupid ZF which isn't squeaky (except the streetlites)
For "Wrightbus Streetlite time" you should have said "It's piece of shite time" coz they are obviously the worst bus ever made
