    For everyone criticizing the barber, the whole message of this video went over their heads. How can you all talk about money and loss, when all the sadhus where talking about values and selflessness. That guy has three children and 'a wife' to feed, and Rs. 200 ( a very small amount for most of us watching) must have surely made his day. We easily pay Rs. 200 for a burger in McDonalds but paying a bit extra for a man who is working to feed his family is too much?! I am disappointed

    All Sadhus are saying listen to your heart,mind, father, mother, teacher for peace happiness and well being. Nobody says follow my religion.
    Compare this with other religion -All will say follow my religion and convert to this that.

      People who watch too much bollywood movies, will always criticize a baba or a sadhu. According to them sadhus should be in a jungle or in a cave, he should not take part in poilitcs. He should not be practical.

      Dharm means kartavya not religion. & Now a days there is no value of dharm like kshatriya dharm. Dharm is divided on the basis of karm not by in which caste family u r born

    • @bharathbhagavatar6111
      @bharathbhagavatar6111 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @Rishi Singh first you should get educated. Dharma means, not religion, but duty and righteousness. For example, Ahimso paramo dharma- meaning non-violence (Ahimsa) is our first (param) duty (dharma).

    • @bharathbhagavatar6111
      @bharathbhagavatar6111 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Rishi Singh Dharma is not just some word which can be explained with one word or a small phrase. It's a subject by itself. But, I tried to explain it in one word. I know I didn't do my best. I just wanted to give a glimpse of it. Most people misunderstand dharma as religion. I just wanted to counter that. Coming to what my friend over here said. What is the right way to live? Isn't it by following dharm? If yes, then doesn't it mean dharma is a right way of living? The definition of dharma doesn't stop there. It starts from here. Then, what is dharm? Yes, you need to read bhagavad gita for that. I have read it. Before reading it, I read mahabharata also. I have not just read it, I have lived and cried along with that story and understood bhagavad gita in that context. But, everyone cant do this. Hence, I will make it simple for you my friend. Any decision you take, it should be out of love for humanity. If anything which stops you from doing it, may it be your love for your loved ones, your duty, your promises, your well being, fear, attachment, age old traditions or anything, you have to denounce it. This is what happened during the event of that inhuman act with draupadi. Nobody spoke or acted against it, except vidura. They were bound by one or any combination of the above things. So, they all were part of this adharm.
      Bhishma- duty, promise and traditions.
      Drona- attachment for his son.
      Karna- duty and promise towards his friend.
      Pandavas- they lost themselves to kauravas
      They all thought what stopped them was their dharma, which was not.
      Ashwattama and kauravas- they enjoyed it, didn't care any. Had no dharma in them.
      And so on...
      Think about it. If all you want is to win the argument, you won bro. I am not here to win the argument. Consider that it was my dharma to tell you (I am not always this humble. Speaking of dharma, it just reminded me to be humble).
      And one more thing my friend, there was lot of anger and hatred in your comment. Work on it. It's not gonna get you anywhere.

    The Sadhu at 1:35 is Baba Sura Giri. I sat with him at his dhuni several times in the past few weeks. Originally from Rajasthan, he has been a sadhu since he was a child. He's generous and kind and, like most Nagas, is partial to the chillum.

      @shrreyyaa I hung out with him when I revisited Varanasi last year. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of sadhus there after the Kumbh Mela and he popped out of the crowd and handed me a rudraksh necklase. I saw him the next day and he invited me to sit with him. He introduced me to a few other babas and he had a young assistant whose English was good. India never fails to surprise me.

      it's crazy how Sadhu's in India have many overlapping traits both mentally and physically with the Sufi malangs/Darvesh/Fakirs over in Pakistan. They also have this "get rid of material possesions" vibe and are partial to the chillum too. In fact sometimes it can be hard to tell them apart. I never knew this overlap was so noticeable.

      That's why 2 guys kept saying "$10, Ten Dollars", while the massage was going on, it was even put up on the screen by Bernardo who posted this video. My impression is once they saw he didn't blink at being charged 200 rupees for a beard trim (not shave), the guy decided to go ahead and do the massage with his friend helping and 2 guys were standing there saying "Ten dollars". I also get the feeling this is an ongoing technique as it is obviously not the first time those guys stood there and said "$10, Ten Dollars". They looked disappointed they did not collect $10.....anyway, it's understandable, and from all the travel videos in India I have watched, it seems to me that it is up to the "traveler" to get wise as to the importance of bargaining for just about everything as just a normal way of doing business, as a foreign tourist.
