    Chinmaya Sisters, Uma and Radhika were taught Carnatic music by their mother Bhavani Natesan and rigorous musical training began right from their childhood, initially from Isai Peroli Neyveli Sri R. Santhanagopalan and later on from Padma Bhushan Awardee, Sangitha Kalanidhi, Madurai T N Seshagoplan and they continue to remain under their able guidance even now. The duo come from a family of ardent devotees of Swami Chinmayananda. Having received his blessings they have been named Chinmaya Sisters by their Guru. They recall with pride, meeting Swami Chinmayananda and seeking his blessings to begin their musical journey as “Chinmaya Sisters”. Now the sisters teach the younger generation and Radhika takes Skype lessons for students abroad.

    The krithi is a prayer for liberation (Moksha), where the devotee pleads for the blessing of never being born again. Even if born, the devotee seeks the boon of never forgetting the divine feet of the Lord. The krithi praises Lord Shiva as the compassionate savior of devotees, the beloved of Parvati, and the one who removes past karma and worldly attachments.

    Meaning:
    O gracious and mighty lord, please grant me the boon of not to be born again.
    Grant me this boon and in case there is another birth at least grant me the boon of not ever forgetting you in my thoughts in this land.
    You are the consort of goddess Parvati and the friend of your devotees. Please remove my attachment to mundane affairs but keep the bondage between you and me forever. My sins of previous births and my current worries must vanish so that I can seek shelter at your lotus feet.
