I just got a group of 5 Multies and 3 Fairy cichlids on Sunday. They are in a 30 gallon breeder. So far they are just hiding. Can't wait till they become more active.
hi again, love the set up.. i had told you weeks ago i was setting up a muli tank.. got 6 to start with online.. i know flex tanks come with fluval aquasky led light, i have same light on a 20L..can i ask what settings you use? (color %'s) how do you get all that shimmer from the lighting? im trying to to decide what color background to use, your thought on this for a all multi tank? also, where can i get those rocks.. by the way, i chose the same food, glad to know i chose good food!!
That fluval tank looks awesome I went with a 20 gal long for my gold ocellatus in my office I thought about the fluval flex but got scared from bad reviews 😢
These fish have been at the top of my list for most wanted for over 8 months but they never come up in my area, my wife somehow found a group of 6 for my birthday and they just came in, they in quarantine now but will be moved to a 30g in a week
I am devastated…I lost 18 of my Multi’s today. Their water was great and has been stable for over five years…breeding prolifically. My heater cooked them. I work from home and this morning when I checked on them and turned on their light all was well. Apparently at some point during the day my very Eheim heater apparently spiked and around 7 pm when I went to feed them frozen baby brine I saw all the adults and many juveniles lying at the bottom of the tank. I immediately took off the hood and felt the water…it was incredibly hot yet the light was glowing on the heater in spite of being set to 80F. - the temp of the water was 96F! i was shocked!I keep the temp at 80F and check it regularly…. I am shocked…I have 6 surviving Multi’s that are juveniles…I think they survived by staying in their shells. So upset! I’ve only lost one multi in five years until today…I am praying my 6 survive.
@@JudiAnderson-s3l thank you ♥ Interestingly enough the surviving 6 are doing well in a small 10 gallon tank I had on hand for emergencies or quarantine. They’re thriving. Like you - no more heaters for me. I was heartbroken to have lost all of these lovely entertaining little fish. Thanks again.
Not so much related to this video but I'm from England, when people say 55 gallon for an Oscar minimum is that American gallon or English gallon? I have a 300 litre tank which is 65 American or 85 English according to Google??
Be careful these multies are easy to keep and will breed like rabbits, but be careful with some types they can be very territorial especially between males

I decided to make a shell dweller/brichardi tank and have a little wave maker. Are they ok with the wave maker?
Yep should be fine
Can I use my Seachem American Cichlid salt in the African Cichild tank?
What other types of fish can exist with the shell dwellers?
hi mate whats the grain size of the sand please
How do you deal with the algae ?

It seems to be a good aquarium kit, but the curved panel with shellies is tough. a 20 gal long is ideal!
If anyone is looking for some multi shell dwellers I’ve got a bunch in two different tanks I’ll gladly sell them for super cheap
Still got some?
How many shell dwellers should I start in a 20 gallon long?

So sorry! I have removed heaters from all my tanks and just depend on room temp. Have heard WAY too many heater horror stories.

Tanks in the UK are usually measured in litres so I'd think US gallons
Where do you get the fake plants too?
I need to get some just to breed and sale
Great cichlid to do that with!
