- In this video, i show you how to fix a cut coaxial cable. It is a simple F connector repair tutorial. If you have a coaxial cable that is running from one place to another, and the coax cable is cut, you can try to fix it rather than running an entirely new one. It is a really simple process, and I show you how to do it with the appropriate tools, but you can use regular tools if you want to and still get the job done, it just might be a little bit harder, but it is still completely possible.

This tool kits is expensive, but it gets job done in 5 minutes. I broke my internet coaxial cable when I was working in my backyard, I got everything fixed by following the video, thanks!
Where did you buy the tools ?
Lol I’m in the same boat.
I found a whole kit on amazon for $30
This dude sounds like Saul Goodman
Damn spot on
Frfr lol
Its a hybrid of saul and badger
I can't unhear it now 😂
Annoying in the beginning especially when you're having a bad day, then hear that ""
Hell yeah thanks Saul if you got a diy better call Saul! Way 2 go mate
😂😂😂
The only thing is people won't commonly have the crimping tool.
Good show.
Thank you very much. You make it very simple.
where's the link to Amazon for the tool?????????
Can u ad a link to we’re to buy the tools you used
This is really helpful! Verizon technician cut my coaxial cable without my knowledge, and it is causing a problem now that I might want to switch.
Your description mentions being able to repair this using more standard tools. Can you show how that is done?
Well if you don't have the striping tool your fucked. And what ends? Not very helpful.
What was that tool you used for that?
Yeah, but who has those type of tools hanging around?!
Seriously!
I wanted to find how to fix the tiny coaxial cable for my car antennae. Not this. And I wanted to use simple tools and simple crap any typical guy would have in his toolbox.
I got the same issue I’m trying to fix. Did you have any luck finding out how to do it?
30 bucks at home Depot. Comes as a kit. Super easy
It would be nice to describe those individual tools and connectors a bit more…where to buy, how much it costs, etc.
I’m guessing none of us out here have all these parts and tools in our garage…
what if its not just cur and its kind of chewed up by a lawnmower
Why do baby talk us like we are infants??
I actually needed it 🤣
Can you list the items used in this video? Like the tools
Just get a kit, they should come with the coax stripper, coax crimper and the type f connectors. From what I've been seeing, there isn't much point to buying them separately unless you've already got some of the gear.
My technician didn't even primp it. No wonder my shit is shit.
thank you so much, just fixed my coaxial cable without calling someone out to do it
So I can replace the cable without calling the service provider?
will this work on outdoor RG6 satellite cable? or will weather effect it?
Landlord cut it after i told him its illegal lol. I know how to do it the gheto way just curious how the pros do it lol.
Used to be I couldn’t sleep at night!! How stupid is that!?
1- You have to fold the metal braid back
2- The amount of stinger sticking out is irrelevant. You want the white dielectric part to be flush with the little hole it comes through. The frequencies for cable, internet, or satellite travel in that dielectric. If it’s not done right, you’ll have issues.
You’re welcome
You are a dumby mcdumb face.
The center conductor length is important, as is the stripping technique. You need a solid connection from the body of the connector to the shielding of the cable to prevent ingress/egress, and the correct amount of center conductor exposed for the equipment it's being connected to. Luckily F connectors have standards and that standard is 1/4" shielding exposed, 1/4" dielectric exposed, 1/4" center conductor exposed.
The dielectric does not carry any signal (or frequencies as you called it). The signal travels on the outermost portion of the center conductor thanks to the skin effect. The dielectric IS important because it maintains the distance between the center conductor and the shielding, which is what determines the impedance of the cable. In the case of cable companies, that impedance is 75 ohms.
You are right though, the braid should be folded prior to installing the f connector.
Why does this guy sound a lot like Brennen Mulligan? 😂
Thanks! Short, sweet and to the point. Accidentally cut a cable and was able to fix it within 5 min (and an hour round trip to the big box store) thanks to this video. Great content!
BTW, we didn't need the crimping tool because we bought the screw on pieces. Still got the job done, and saved $$.
Seriously annoying voice on this guy.
Where do you get that tool and the connectors?
Please begin all of your videos just like this one 😬
Pls do playback singing😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks, I has to do this with only a box cutter/scissors to strip and cut the wire and it wasn't too bad
I just want to say thank you for this video. I just bought a house recently and have been encountering Internet issues so I was able to cut off parts that were frayed and get it back together with your help. Much appreciated 🙏
Some videos show them folding back the silver wire strands. Does this have to be done, or can you just leave it like you did?
What if my coaxial is not broken?
Then rip it and follow this video, duh!
My mother cut the internet cable by accident, I went to ace bought the parts and fixed it!!!!! Ty my wifi is back!!!
I’m not buying a crimping tool
Lol. Well buy a new Cable
@@BobbsVegine-eg3xz lmao I fixed it the same day with new cable. Even painted it my own color 😂
Where do you find that yellow tool?
It's a coax cable stripper and you should be able to find it at most larger hardware stores. Or just pick one up off of ebay, that's what I'm doing. You're going to need the crimper and the rest of it anyways.
Lol😂, i cut it too. Try to get my kids to get off Roblox and TH-cam. 😅 Now trying to fix it.
Lol serves you right. I guess they have figured out how to reset the Router.
Quick, straightforward… niiiicccceee
Thank you, I couldn't figure out what to buy by just browsing lowe's/home depot
Thanks great video, your voice sounds like a mix of Doug demero and Saul Goodman
Thank you
That was very helpful
Mr do it all👍🏾
I had no idea how simple that would be
Every time you splice any cables, you will lose some signal. If you have enough cable, just replace the connector or best yet, replace the entire cable. Adding new connectors in splice area is good as well
Signal loss for cable modem too?
Saved my ass THANKS
Thank you so much!
I wanna meet you over some coffee. I live in Mississauga.
Saul,
Does adding a coax coupler like this reduce cable internet speeds?
No, maybe if you have like 10 of them in the line then perhaps. But if it's just 1 or 2 you won't notice any impact.
Thanks i fixed my brand new earphones
Thanks bro. I knew this was going to be simple but it it still helps to have your tutorial.
Honestly great video that helped me fix my coaxial cable
Thank you
Thank You!
Can this be done inside the wall connector
Yes it can, you just need to make sure that there is enough wire to pull out of the wall.
Doh. Double check before you cut. Otherwise, this video is excellent tutorial for how to fix mistakes
Where can U buy the tools to use to fix cut cable
That doesn't help me I need to know how to connect without the ends and your voice is very annoying.
Flex tape
Rude much?
You've not made it clear what the silver bits to gonon the end are called as I need to buy them along with that so called crimping tool
BUT WHAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A CRIMPING TOOL ?
