- As the Ram Temple in Ayodhya readies for “pran prathishthan” or consecration on 22 January, Jist News visited the quarries from where the pink sandstone for the temple was sourced. The pink sandstone measuring almost 5 lakh cubic feet has come from Bansi Paharpur in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district. The rather rare pink stone is found sandwiched between layers of abundantly found red sand stone. The lease for the mines was cleared by the Ashok Gehlot government in 2022. In the recently concluded Rajasthan assembly election Bharatpur region didn’t witness much ground swell over ram temple. But legalising of earlier illegal mines impacted the poll outcome in at least two assembly seats.

@@AnshGoyalll before The purchase order from Ram Mandir Trust... Who insisted on proper GST billing for the stones... All orders were from traders who bribes locals to smuggle the same out .. only after proper purchase orders and tenders were issued... Local business applied for tender using proper documentation... Which not only forced the local government to issue permits by proper tender process... But also forced them to remove the licence raj... So yes .. if you want me to State the word it's because of BJP government this was possible.... And also to add to the information... Because the Ram Mandir Trust provide bank guarantees to the supplier they were able to raise funds from the banks to upscale themselves to invest to be capable to supply..
Please visit ALL the states... ALL OF THE STATES have contributed to the Temple... Each one is a unique story!

At some point when more and more buildings use sandstone, we should learn to use concrete core and only clad the buildings in sandstone slabs rather than making core structures using stone. That's what all the western nations did with marble.
