I’ve been in sick leave due to depression for 8 months now with little progress but some lately. It’s amazing how easy you make it sound with some things I’ve been getting to lately, after all this time. And not done yet by any stretch of the imagination. I could listen to your chat for hours, hope you repeat this off topic kind of show again soon cause it’s honestly been one of the best. It’s really doing something good to know that we all got the same struggles and challenges. Thanks lads.
Superb show, enjoyed Robbo telling us about Windermere, he’s spot on about how simply being in nature makes us feel better - there are studies which have found it improves our mental health if we spend some time in nature/greenery, us humans were not meant to be looking at screens as much as we do!
One of my favourite TLC shows lads. A lot of that really struck a cord with me and where I am in my life at 42. Letting go and not giving a fuck is something I’ve been doing a lot these past 2-3 years and it’s was good to hear your thoughts on all that. Keep up the great work lads
at 42 isnt it time to grow up, lad? "nul=bock generation" is how the germans call it! ...how you would castigate people 1933-1945 during the holocaust which murdered 8 million?, well YOU are INFORMED about the MASS MURDER NOW of more than 10,000 Gaza kids, and if you look away you are just as guilty as the iDF!
Love these chats look forward to them every week 👍👍 My 3 sports football , motorbikes ,mountain biking the two wheel stuff gets me away from normal life not worn leather for 20 years but love the sport
With regards to the apathy of people towards politics etc. It was one of the fundamental points/observations made by Orwell in 1984. “The hope lies in the proles (proletariat)” “But the Proles, if only they could somehow become conscious of their own strength, would have no need to conspire. They need only to rise up and shake themselves like a horse shaking off flies. If they chose they could blow the Party to pieces tomorrow morning. Surely sooner or later it must occur to them to do it." Orwell ultimately uses the Proles to warn us off “marketisation”. “The Proles have chosen to be infantilised, fed lies, kept benign on a diet of beer, football, lottery tickets and “prolefeed” - entertainment churned out by the Party. and just go along with it. Orwell is trying to make a point about how, if we are just apathetic, we can end up losing our freedom.
Keep the faith Robbo. Footy/LFC needs people with your passion to keep the traditions we all love alive. You have a platform and therefore a voice so keep shouting. YNWA.

I have a nice little home theater in my basement and in Jan 2020 I decided to stop scrolling and youtubing so much and to watch more movies. Signed up for a letterboxd account and now I average at least 10 movies per week.
Boss "69" Stormy would've been proud of lads ! Don't need the gym Robbo ! Few press-ups, few dips, Monkey bar out in the back garden. When you've "nailed" all the Plague Island Peaks there's always the Pyrenees & Alps :) Stay clear of Everest, LFC Mega-store at 28,000 ft 🗻
I used to lead 3 Peaks Challenges (National and Yorkshire), if you need any tips or advice let me know. Wild camping is my Zen, camped on top of a mountain, sunsets, sunrises, beer.
Another thing kloop hinted at which I don't think anyone noticed was when he said leauge matches being moved to other countries. I think it in one of his last pressers. Probably knows it's on the way.
Gareth, do Kinder Scout from Edale, go up the Pennine Way to Jacob's Ladder then north along to The Wool Packs and Crowden Tower, then down via Grindsbrook Clough back to Edale. I prefer the other side of the valley though, The Great Ridge (Lose Hill to Mam Tor from Edale. I can sort you routes out mate.
Real talk: I would love to have a TLC book club. As someone who is terrible about starting books and never finishing them but still has a desire to read, I think the idea of listening listening to you guys discuss it and getting your insight (considering I'd be listening to whatever you guys are chatting about anyway) would be really nice.
Seen a few people have said this already, but Kinder Scout is an incline, but not a massive one. Mam Tor is another similar one. Agreed with a lot of what youse discussed today, used to run (quite) seriously and been coming up with excuses to not restart for months! Also, the Sky Sports News loop 😂 This was a killer when I was a stoner at uni in the earlier phase of that channel.
Hi guys, I absolutely love your show and I hope you carry on during the boring summer period. it would be hard to take with no football and no quality contented chat shows on here. so please keep it up. YWNA
Great show chaps, great call for Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The issue with making everyone rich in our current capitalist system is the price of a loaf would just rise as supply drives demand and the market sets the price, if you can charge 50 quid for a loaf and someone pays 50 quid then a loaf costs 50 quid, its happening with UK property prices, the worth of a house is what someone will pay gor it, in London an empty block of luxury apartments is worth more than an occupied block because you can sell it on easier hence its values rises quicker, madness but true, what a world Up the Reds
I was sad when Robbo left TAW but watching him Copey doing their own thing now makes me glad he moved on. Love TLC podcast and the chemistry these two lads have
Having felt we all need a good break from it for the summer, I was in two minds but was glad I watched. I’m 47 in November and despite feeling the exact same about many things in life as I did when I was 18, I’ve felt increasingly detached and finally let the ST go at the end of last season. I’m still made up for them when they win and disappointed to lose - I did the Derby away as a one off! - but there’s so much that feels wrong about it now that it doesn’t look or feel anywhere near the same thing as it was, as it should be - if that makes sense? The toxic fan culture, negligent ticket distribution for local support to get access to their own team, increasing prices and greater influence of Americanised broadcasting plus VAR have just come all at once and it feels like it’s something else now. I don’t want Liverpool to become what they’ve become.
Kinder Scout is a fantastic walk, mildly challenging, but fundamentally doable for most I reckon. You should check out the Derbyshire Three Peak Challenge (Kinder Scout is a part of it). I did it when I was 30 with next to no training. I aint fit, but I still dragged myself around it.
I did get out! I still watch every single LFC match ( not live of course) and don't pay a penny but I had to move to the other side of the world to do it ... madness! 🤷♀
You made a podcast called TLC and now you’re asking for recommendations for nature walks? Don’t go chasing waterfalls lad; just stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re used to.
Power Corruption and Lies New Order 1983 yada. I heard something recently that its not so much that wealth and power that corrupts; rather it is that often there is a type of problematic (skilled) personality that can live that life.
What I think would work better than a walk-out is a shut-up. The 'twelfth man' has helped us win countless games, and when we're having bad periods during games, silence from our supporters has undoubtedly helped our opponents, so I think the psychological impact of supporters being there but staying silent would hopefully say more than other words or actions.
I was in Manchester on Sunday, regrettably during manCHEATER city’s parade. I saw probably 200 fans loitering about by where the bus passed by😂 absolutely laughable support, joke of a club proven time and time again.
Mate there is a few utub channel ppl who do hikes up all the big mountains and explains quite a lot for beginners. 1 lad done the 3 big peaks in uk barefoot for charity. U should watch a couple. Hazey outdoors is the 1 i watched and he pretty well informed on it all.
Eh lads. If you listen to the football ramble at all, today's ep just partly mirrored yours weirdly. Talking about season ticket prices and fans being the priduct, fortuna dusseldorf and then one of them signed off with "Namaste". Listened to it directly after yours and was a bit odd tbh
Dunno! Was just presented with a few options by the studio lads and went for that for the very reasons you mention. Saw Verve supporting Ride at the Royal Court when I was still in school!
As much as I like Liverpool chat nice to have some other stuff. Kinder Scout is pretty tame, it is an incline though. Classic Paul just thinking there is such a thing that is just news, no news is without biases, not that simple I'm afraid.
34:25 u guys underestimate the influence footballers have on the public. Have you forgotten how Beckham had half of the blokes in Manchester wearing skirts.
Hi mate, the Patreon video option essentially takes you to an unlisted TH-cam video as I understand it, so not sure if that can be downloaded from there.
Incessant Sky Sports news example: genuine 10 minute segment on how Celtic could increase their chances of success next season. Bloke at Celtic Park desperately rummaging for nuance. Grim.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is a classic. I enjoyed the chat, guys. Cheers!
Great show lads. Love the non-footy nonsense. Off to Scarfell Pike and Snowdonia next weekend. Looking forward to non phone time. YNWA.
Keep the faith Robbo. Footy/LFC needs people with your passion to keep the traditions we all love alive. You have a platform and therefore a voice so keep shouting. YNWA.

Each morning, we are born again. What we do today is what matters most.
Sound as always.

Top episode lads. Love it.
Loved this guys. Found myself nodding away during it. Looking forward to more during the summer
Love the lfc chat but glad we've got some of the random chat back, have missed it, been laughing me head off. 50/50 is the way forward lads! 👍

Enjoyed that chat, much better than scrolling the Netflix contents page (I haven’t got Netflix- just saying). Keep up the great work!

Great show guys. Keep up the good work 👏
Talking about life… love it!! By the way spot on your thoughts about the Biker “thing”, i can relate 100%.
Keep them coming!
Cheers
Spot on about the gym I've just thought the something 😂

Really enjoyed that, lads. Fuck all to do with football like, and that's good sometimes.
I was sad when Robbo left TAW but watching him Copey doing their own thing now makes me glad he moved on. Love TLC podcast and the chemistry these two lads have
Boss that lads.
Boss chat !! Reminds me of vintage TAW. Gareth and Craig talking about crisps 😅
Brilliant lads!! 🤣🤣
1hr 12mins of talking absolute shite and man stuff..... Loved it... Do some more 🤣🤣🤣
Walk from Town to Huyton, that used to make me knackered.
Haha have done that a few times 😂
I got back into Mountain biking to help me enjoy exercising and the outdoors!
This ep is my daily inner monologue 🤙
Another great show lads. Well done

Excellent 👌👌 as ever
excellent as usual guys
Quality pod lads, loved it
And rocking up to the local with Dungarees on would definitely raise a few eyebrows
27 mins in and had to pause to comment … this is fucking champagne lads. You’re both smart and just get it. Anyway, carrying on watching now 😊
Second half descended into absolute random bollox 😂 excellent stuff, lads 😂😂
Don't do Scafell Pike now. That's proper up. Hardest climb of the big 3 peaks. Even in dungarees.
Snowden. 2 hours solid incline. Great walk.
Kinder scout is quite easy Robbo. I did it at school. Or you can do Mamtor opposite. Some incline on that one bro.
Food for the algorithm attached 🙂
Kinder Scout is a fantastic walk, mildly challenging, but fundamentally doable for most I reckon. You should check out the Derbyshire Three Peak Challenge (Kinder Scout is a part of it). I did it when I was 30 with next to no training. I aint fit, but I still dragged myself around it.
I can forgive the double denim but a feckin EAR-RING !!!??? 😂
As Billy Bragg said, The Revolution is only a T Shirt away..
Missed these random "human experience" talk episodes:) Nice break from the all lfc episodes:)
Marine knocked out Macclesfield in the play off. Gutted about that, but good luck Marine.

Indeed News I watch it for tops the first hour
Its some small consolation to me, when I remember that on the Athletico Mince podcast, they always refer to sh1t, as 'Tod(d)'.
Germany is different lads, fans can still afford tickets.

Had this episode on in the car on Spotify, what is the tune at the beginning? Very early Verve/shoegazery!

🤣
Think Potchettino definitely needs to prove himself

Helvellyn (striding edge) route and Cadair idris are 2 brilliant intermediate hikes in preparation for Scafell pike or Ben Nevis. 💯👍🏻
Thanks mate
agree about those nob shiner bikers..............weird people trying to kill themselves to show off, to who?
