    Class Notes:
I want to briefly run you through the 3 primary elements of drawing
    **block example
    Shape
Shapes are the basic building blocks for anything you want to draw.
Generally speaking when Im first starting on on a concept I start with lots of loose lines who’s sole purpose is to find the shapes either in my mind or in a space in front of me.
    Line
This is when I come in and make a permanent decision on which lines I want to keep and Il also start adding in details that help support the shapes. But we will get into those later.
    Tone
Tone is the final stage where we make decisions on where light and shadow live.
Just one of the elements alone won't give you a finished drawing.
    **complex example (break down)
    **Show the finished result
    **Just line
    **Just tone
    **Just shapes
if by the end of this course you can combine these 3 elements to build a drawing from the ground up than I believe we will have succeeded in teaching you to draw pretty much anything.
to get you there we have a lot of fundamental to cover and to start off i want to talk about tools.
And, in the next lesson Im going to talk about the number one most important tool you need in order to draw anything successfully.
Ill give you a hint its not a pencil.
