I think of the 4 of cups as stagnation. 4 is a number that represents stability and stillness... which is normally good, but in the case of water, water not in movement isn't always so great. The other 4s tend toward positive.
Just thought it was worth mentioning. There is a real similarity between the thoth "truce" and the RWS. In the stained glass window it says "pax" which is another way of saying truce or timeout. I kinda like to look at this as "the eye of the storm". A chance to recuperate amid all the chaos. Thank you for all your great info and your deck is quite beautiful.
Please please please can you please finish this series? I don't know if I'm speaking ignorantly because something happened and if so I'm sorry! I am loving this whole thing and didn't realize it wasn't complete when I began! Please please and thank you! :)
Dear Benebell Wen, is there any possibility that you'll be continuing this awesome series of the Tarot card meanings with the Fives, Sixes, etc. anytime soon ? Thank you for everything you do, you are simply amazing ! Greetings from Hungary.
Benebell please do more Taoist magical stuff with sigils and actual practice stuff. I'm going to be doing the Taoist practice where we put one IChing hex in bone script in the center of that activation bagua (ok I didn't explain that well.) But thanks!
I really appreciate your effort and methodology in your explanations, very rich! I always wanted to see the comparative topics between these systems! I wish you all success!
9/14/2019 10:44 pm GMT+9 update: The official closed captioning is not working right now for some reason and I'm out of the country, away from my computer. I'll fix the CC as soon as I return on 9/24/2019. Thank you for your patience. 🥰
i hope one day you get to go through childbirth to physically feel what transition feels like, or that gray zone, between creation and manifesting. my 3rd child was freebirthed at home where i could really sit and witness me in that space. referencing your 4 of cups card. the goddess brigid is also the goddess of that liminal space like Inanna/ Ishtar
Thanks Benebell for once again delivering a super useful lecture. May I ask which version of the Tarot de Marseilles are you using in the video? There appears to be a few version with great variance in prices, especially the Jodorowsky version is almost double the price of the others. Also do you have a book you'd recommend for studying the Tarot de Marseilles?
The CBD Tarot de Marseilles, based on the Conver Tarot, is a free download courtesy of the generous late Dr. Yoav Ben-Dov. Download the images, insert them into a Word document in landscape mode, and you can print 3 cards per sheet, 26 sheets total. Cut and be creative about your own card back design. Voila! A DIY TdM! There are actually many historic TdM decks digitally available in full for free download, since they're now public domain. The most budget friendly and also meaningful way to get a TdM deck is to make your own. The Conver or the Sforza are perhaps the two more popular and recognizable versions, so those are good places to start. 🥰😍
