This looks impressive to other people, but me being a defensive end myself, and have studied the position. I can clearly say that this is a complete showcase of straight dominance. The way he creates separation, the way he makes the lineman feel useless by reading the play and making sharp reactions. His footwork is insane too. I mean we all can agree he will be good in the NFL, but I understand how truly dominant he will be. He is nfl ready.

This is coming from someone who has analyzed this position over the last five and a half years of my life (and played). Not to mention he was being double and sometimes triple teamed. Also a lot of the times he was cooking the lineman but the play was to the other side. A lot of the time the lineman might hold him too. But yes, your right, he didn’t have a great game. Jerry rice didn’t have 5 touchdowns and 300+ yards each game. Tom Brady doesn’t put up 500+ yards each game either, but they are both arguably the best of the best. Now Chase Young might have not made an actual tackle, but he’s still influencing the play. Trust me, I research this and this position is in my blood. Also sorry for shiting out this response and for making you read this. I just get crazy when people talk about defensive line/defensive end.
tudfrey did you actually watch that game? He was keyed for almost every play, opened up opportunities for the inside and other side of the line to make plays. His impact isn’t always about tackles and sacks and if you don’t understand that you don’t know football

I’m a lifelong Ohio State fan. I’m 28 years old and haven’t missed a game that I can remember. I missed a couple when I was playing pee wee football when I was younger and we played at the same time. But ever since being able to record games I’ve atleast got to watch the game if not live. That being said I have NEVER seen a more dominant player in my entire life. Y’all have seen the success the Bosa brothers have had in the league. This dude IS LEGIT better than both brothers. His size, strength, speed, technique, mentality, work ethic, Is unmatched by anybody else I’ve seen. People say stuff like that all the time but it’s REAL when they say it about Chase. Whoever gets him is getting a future Hall of Famer if he stays healthy. Would LOVE to see my Bengals get him but they HAVE to take Joe Burrow. With as SHITTY as our front office is our only chance is to have a once in a generation type QB to carry us. Best of luck to whoever Chase goes though.

Jets _79 Yelp, you’re exactly right. What we are seeing now is teams having to scheme their entire offense around Chase Young. Which teams absolutely have to do if they want to have a chance to succeed. Like you said he was being doubled every time. Their guards were punching down and then immediately sliding over to help the tackle block him and at times with a RB to come down and help block too!!! Lolol I mean it’s crazy and if that’s not bad enough he was being held the entire game too. But what can you do the refs aren’t going to call holding on every single play even though there is. But yeah you were exactly right. Plus I hate to admit but Shea was doing a good job getting the ball out fast especially in the first half with knowing he has to because number 2 is COMING!

There is no way he’s giving up a guaranteed top 2 selection for college. He only said that answer because he didn’t want to sound selfish and make it seem like no matter what he’s taken care of (in terms of where he’s be drafted). As a Skins fan i'm excited to see him rush the passer this coming season. I like his matchup vs Runyan Jr, whose dad played for the skins. He beat him and got there a split second late but the coverage was very lax. How many sacks did Chase lose out on cause the coverage was ass. Sometimes he even gets there right as the qb finishes his drop and is winding up. He can bend to 7 yards flat to get the qb he's unreal and he gonna do it in the NFL can't wait.
He’s the best damn player in the country, but when you’re on defense, it’s a lot less flashy bc teams can just shut you down by tripling you which opens up opportunities for other guys to go 1 on 1. Unfortunately, that’s not what Heisman voters look at. They look at amazing stats and big fancy flashy performances and that’s what they vote for. That’s why defensive players never win it and quarterbacks always do. They don’t look at the fact that Michigan and Wisconsin had to form their game plans entirely around one player and completely adjust how they play to figure out how to block him, because that happens with all good quarterbacks anyways so it’s ignored when it happens with a defensive player. If someone else displayed the same amount of dominance as him at an offensive position, they would breeze past joe burrow in the Heisman race, but because of his position, Chase won’t win the Heisman and it sucks because he’s the one who obviously deserves it
