  • Białystok is the largest city in northeastern Poland and the capital of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. It is the tenth-largest city in Poland, second in terms of population density, and thirteenth in area.

As you can see in the video, there are a lot of trees in Białystok. Thanks to this, there must be a lot of birds in the city. And since there are birds, a lot of food is needed to raise chicks. Therefore, note in the video that the grass is not mowed to feed the chicks. The grass can be cut only in July, when the chicks are raised.

Białystok is my favourite Polish city. Yeah, it doesn't have too many architectural gems, especially in comparison to Kraków, Gdańsk or even Lublin. It doesn't have even a proper Old Town, which can be considered a disgrace for a Polish city. You can't say that it offers a vibrant nightlife. It isn't a multicultural metropolis with soaring skyscrapers and diverse population from all over the world. As a matter of fact, Białystok may seem a little bit parochial. But imho it's the most liveable Polish city, with its very unique charm. It has A GREAT NUMBER of green areas (there is a genuine forest near the heart of the city called "Las Zwierzyniecki"), there's a lot of space, streets are wide and generally in very good condition compared to other Polish cities (for example Łódź and Lublin have terrible, terrible roads). There's an excellent network of bike paths which allows everyone to get around the city quickly, easily and without having to waste your money on fuel. Even in the very center of the city there is plenty of space, so you don't have to watch out not to bump into other people :) There are also lots of beautiful orthodox churches (not a very common sight in Poland!), because orthodox Christians make up 30% of the city's population. There is a significant (native for Poland) Muslim community, too.
I fell in love with Białystok on New Year's Eve of 2020 and hope to move there soon :)
