Cool review! Believe me or not, Here in Florence (the italian one) we are building new arcade machines with new original games! The phisical world of arcade has not to be die.
_The Oregon Trail_ taught me that Dysentery and Eagles were the two biggest causes of death back then. If your only goal is to finally finish the game inside of a single 45-minute 5th grade Social Studies class, you play as the Banker, stock up on food and spare wagon-parts, run the oxen hard and overfeed the settlers, buy one new oxen for every two that die, pay to cross the river instead of fording, and *boom*, you're in Oregon before the first snow.
Having played Space War as a coin up and having a great family that let me have an Atari VCS, it is great to see graphical books showing the evolution of the art and advertising of video games.
The 32-bit era and earlier are pretty much the only games that still interest me. It is very hard for me to get into modern stuff. Outside of a retro throwback title, I think the last modern "3D" game I really played through was Halo Reach and that came out almost 13 years ago.
I for one would enjoy a 2 hour video about your memories of gaming. :) If you are a collector of game books, then I can recommend the publisher Bitmap Books. They have a small, but really nice number of books, and they are constantly coming out with new books and new editions of previous books.
Have you talked to her lately ? Have you asked her - how she is letting down all backers - and if you complain or question the delay or her intentions not to fulfill orders - then basically you are put on the bad-list and when her book does start shipping - you will be at the bottom of the list ... thats her 'professional' way of handling people and ignoring them.
hey Omar, do you know anyone who is an expert about 80s arcade games? i used to play one in college in the late 80s that i for the life of me cannot remember the name of, was not a popular one, and cannot track down thru google because online did not really exist back then. it's been bugging me for years.
Oh man, you started on a 7800 and you still played games after that? 🤣 Holy cow theres even a page on Bible Adventures, thats a tempting piece... Annnnd they got Doom for 93, yup thats a quality book right there. (and yes, MK was censored with sweat for the SNES)
