Just want to say I got a chance to see and hear these beautiful speakers in person and they sound and look amazing!!! The fit and finish is as good if not better then I have seen from $10k+ and up speakers. They soundstage and image as if they were 4 to 5 times there size. The bass is clean and tight which is surprising from drivers that small. The slim front baffles and small footprint makes them easily disappear into the room. The vocals sounded natural and the treble was sparkly without being fatiguing. At one point during a jazz song it sounded as if the trumpet was standing directly in front of me blasting out his solo. I had to get up and check several times to make sure no other speakers where pluged in. They really blew me away as was not expecting that level of performance. I really wanted to buy a pair on the spot but at this time don't have room for anymore speakers (At least that's what my wife keeps saying). I did however talk him into selling me a beautiful custom-made turntable at a great price!!!!. Bernardo is a super cool guy and took the time to show me all his amazing designs. This guy is a true professional and really knows what he is doing when it comes to custom audio. I would recommend anyone looking for speakers, amps, audio cabinets, turntables or any custom audio to hit him up ASAP it's only a matter of time before he is to flooded to take any orders.
Thanks Eddie. Good that you posted that “review” cause you guys can’t hear the real audio response through TH-cam. Good listening session by the way. Let’s keep it going! More speakers to come and test and tweak and enjoy.
Sin duda tendrá mucho trabajo, me gusta mucho su trabajo y el detalle con que lo hace, los Crossovers eran muy grandes para su tamaño, qué ganas de estar en su estudio y conversar con el, un saludo desde Cancún, aquí el Fer
I remembered the full range speakers we made a long time ago. I think, I will go back to full range speakers thanks to you. Thanks for the great channel and great craftsmanship and super narration. Subscribed =)
Hello, I'm from Brazil. I started following your channel yesterday and I'm fascinated with your work. I've been studying building speakers for a while now. I've already built two speaker towers, a center channel and four bookshelf surrounds for my Home Theater. Seeing your work I was inspired to build some speakers similar to the ones you make. Congratulations, I will continue to watch your videos.
Make these just about smoke anything by doing this: Make some more the same but without the partition in the box and without the bass vent. Instead, convert the FR hole into a special shallow bass vent. Hot glue a 2" deep tube ring (the same diameter) behind the speaker hole. Now mount the FR driver like 1 cm above the speaker hole with extension screws and spacers just over the desired gap so you can firmly compress the soft spacers (made from thin soft sprinkler hose) to secure the driver firmly so it won't vibrate. The gap size is only a guide, it's Schiit easy to make new spacers out of the thin flexi hose. Try a slightly bigger gap on the top 2 speaker screws for more top dipole dispersion. But you need the sloped-back speaker boxes like you have cos the driver would point downwards with straight standing boxes (with the larger gap on the top screws). In that case, have the larger gap on the bottom so the driver points upwards instead of downwards. How does it sound? It's Schiit easy to do so you can hear it yourself. They will sound like ribbon speakers with a woofer. Like the BEST ribbon speakers! They smoke my B&W 706s that cost 2k. Hands down! And my (modified) 5" FR drivers cost $5 and completely kill my B&W reference speakers (in my completed speakers). I also have the woofer with it for more bass. And BOTH drivers work well on the one speaker hole/bass vent and no partition in the box. If there is too much bass just resist the woofer a bit. Killer kick drum sound. And there is a delay in residual med in the woofer (inside the box) that comes through the top speaker hole (with the FR med) and makes it sound incredible. Like tube amp med. Cheers Big Ears!
Another great design, Bernardo! Really enjoy watching these videos and I'm learning a lot as well. I would definitely like to see how you calculated the crossover as well. Hope your arm is alright! - Tom
My speaker has 2 of those woofers after I saw this I want to replace the tweeter with the mark audio. It would look awesome because I detailed my cabinets with gold leaf paint and I think it would sound better. I'm wondering if I can use that crossover design with 2 woofers I would it be different because that uses one. The best thing about diy is can always swap stuff out and try different ideas.
These look sensational! dont suppose you have any clips of the smaller ones? have a pair of the Mark Audio Drivers arriving any day and you've inspired me to add the Sub!
@@sonnoradesign I ended up building them into some mini tower style speakers, sound good but need more boom! going to build some speakers inspired off these next!
Hello Bernardo, Is it possible for you to share crossover schema ? Those tower look awesome btw, I would really love to heard them ! Keep up the good work, seeing your video is always the best day ever 😉
Hi for the Mid Brother Tower Speakers build video on TH-cam. The attached crossover video showes the positive lead from thr amp going to the negative of the first driver and the positive going to ground, is that correct? I am trying to build these speakers and I'm stuck at the crossover. Please advise, I am desperate. Thanks.
Hey Nick. That’s right! This is a series crossover. Just follow the image and it’s gonna be ok. Make sure you make all the connections right! Thanks my friend
Would u try to make a tough project that’s on my mind a sphere spesker full range 4 drivers and 1 bass drive Like a cube kind off will keep and use as a single speaker in corner
Hi Bernardo Thanks so much for your amazing videos, I especially like the fullrange drivers you use in your projects! Your finished products look amazing with a really professional finish - Welldone for all your hard work! I have the excellent paper coned mark Audio pluvia 7 PHD fitted in 18mm Birch ply frugal horns mk3 and they sound superb! They are tall slim back loaded horns having a simple design which should be fairly straight forward to make, they are very natural sounding with a tight deep bass and I think you would love them! Would be really good if you could build some and review them! I feel there would be a lot of interest from your viewers! Any chance you might consider doing that? KJF audio sell all the parts needed . What do you think? Regards Paul A
Hey Paul. That’s an interesting project. I’ve seen some of those designs but never actually made them. I might have a use for my CHP-70 maybe?! Frugal horn!!
Yes I had those drivers before work really well in frugals for Rock and pop, just good but not sensational with classical! Although drivers weren’t fully run in so will probably mature and open out in time! Give it a try! 😊👍
@@paulallen943 sounds good man. Thanks for the update. I’ll start looking at the frugal horn later. I’m finishing the SB Acoustics MLTL-6 now for next video.
Great video! The speakers looks beautiful! I really liked the design and the choice of colours. How does the speakers sound? How does the TCP115 sound like compared to the bookshelf speakers? When I saw that you used the TCP115 I started to think if I should go for this box design or the one from the bookshelf speakers.
Thanks Andreas. They sound pretty good with the new crossovers. Super clear and good amount of bass for 4” drivers. I like those Mark audios but that’s just my taste.
@@sonnoradesign Thanks friend! Can you confirm that if polyurethane paints are used there is no need to seal the MDF, but can the polyurethane primer be applied directly? Thank you!
Sealed is 4.5 liters. It’s on the description. 2nd order for the Woofer and a capacitor for the full range! I posted a short with the crossover scheme.

Hey Hrvoje! I just posted the link to the crossovers on the description. Thanks for watching! All the way from Croatia. Beautiful place.
Good looking speakers, but how did you get that wood glue to stick to painted surfaces?
Ahaa! Good question. I sand it before applying the glue but a good option would be to mask the wood part before painting.
With such spl this is not a 20W driver, but just 10W driver for some boombox.
