Its nice to hear that the Orcs got to siege a Breton city for change, as an Orsimer enjoyer it warms my heart that Shornhelm got burned to the ground as payback for the siege of the Akaviri-Potenate Orisinium. The blood price was payed in full indeed.
I read the whole story of King Ranser, and to be honest... he is the "good guy" in this war. I mean guy had really bad start, because he was illegitimate son, and some people blame him for taking rule in Shornhelm by cheating. Later, Emeric break really importand and official promise made to him. Okay, he get mad and he wage war against Emerci but come on! I'm not surprised at all, that he was mad. Especially that Emeric tried to say "sorry" by invating him for a wedding which was a main source of the conflict! It's like humiliate an normal person in front of other people and kick him between his legs just for fun! Later he was called an madman because he prefered to continue war, despite that he had no chance. Okay, a bit foolish move, but Emeric asked Orcs to attack and destroy Shornhelm. Like come on! Breton asked Orcs to kill other Bretons. Okay.. I understand that it was a war time but Emeric wasn't acting better then Ranser. The worst is, after his offical death in 2E 567, Ransen was portrated as a dangerous madmay and monster, beacuse he was bold enough to oppouse Emeric and he tried to use necromancy. At the same time, we have necromancers like Severin Charnis which was a member of Daggerfall army, and his leaders knew about his "skills".
I mean even then it’s one thing to break a promise (Which isn’t cool btw so I understand being upset about that.) and another to just outright wage war over said promise, it wasn’t like Emeric straight up told him he wasn’t a friend or he didn’t still value him as a person considering he still invited him to the wedding.
Well Ranser did order massacres against Orc civilians because he was angry that Emeric got the orcs involved. That seems very petty and cruel unnecessary. What Emeric did can be debatable, Emeric married Maraya out of love but it clearly helped him geopolitically by tying the alliance between High Rock and Hammerfell thus forming the basis of Daggerfall Covenant during a period of geopolitical crisis.
I think my favorite period of history in Tamriel has to be the Second Era for so many reasons that this video illustrates perfectly. The wars and politics of The Elder Scrolls have to be one of my favorite aspects of the lore. It's why I love the Fourth Era so much as well from a history perspective. The bitter conflict between the Thalmor and The Empire on a continental scale has lead to some insane battles already and I can't wait to see what will come with the next game. Hoping for a "Battle of Red Ring 2" or something equally as cool. The music in this video coupled with Zork's awesome narration gave me really fun flashbacks to playing things like Risk and Stratego when I was younger. Great video!
Its Kind of a dumb Move from Emeric inviting Ryelle to his marriage with Maraja (i cant spell her name) ,,Hey! Woman that was promised to marry me! You wanna witness how i marry someone Else,that is not you?"
Tbh not inviting her and her father would also have been a dumb move. No matter would he'd have done it would be an insult because well it is insulting to ditch your betrothed because of love on first sight no matter if you invite her afterwards or don't and pretend you don't know her

Knowing how strong and immortal ESO guards are, it surprises me it still took emeric an hour to break the first Lancer attack
