Lauders triped me up accidentaly outside Ibrox one day.... stood on my foot and i went crashing to ground.... he was gutted, picked me up with both hands off from the ground appologising constantly.... i was the happiest 12 year old you could imagine. . . I've never been so happy to fall on my arse in all my life !!! haha. was my own fault really ... desperate to get his autograph. Gentleman and true proffesional. Thank you Brian. :-)
The few times he made appearances for Chelsea he did great even though he was suffering from injuries from WC 98... He left Chelsea because of settlement issues, if he had stayed he would have been one of the best Chelsea player ever..
but in regards to his career in the national team, where he retired at a time when he still had some good years left and where we could have used his experience in implementing younger players in the team. 6: Brian later on admitted that he did not have the mental strenght to be a top player and that's fair enough! No doubt that Brian was one of the greatest danish players ever, and Brian and Henrik Larsson was two of the best foreign players ever in scottish football!
And as a Dane I can only say "hell yeah!". So many good football memories - he of course also left the Danish national team prematurely, a real pity. His brother Michael was also out of this world.
Laudrup bros was and is the pride of danish football and even if most agree's that Michael was the best you have to consider that they were very different in how they played. Michael was a typical 80ies central offensive midfielder and playmaker where Brian was more a winger/forward.
Best player ever to have played in the Scottish league. Gascoigne was amazing, Larsson was world class, but Laudrup had that extra class and if he was 27 or so just now, he'd walk into any team in the world. I know a lot of people wouldn't agree with this, but I'd choose him over the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, both who are amazing players, but with Laudrup, as soon as you seen his name on the team sheet, you just knew you'd win.
havent seen much??? im danish and i have grown up watching them both play for denmark. dont you think i know what im talkning about. look at the video. that shows what brian is good at. pure speed and a great shoot.
I remember when we signed him (back when I was just a lad) and wating for special things to happen. He delivered. The best Gers player I've ever seen, and he only cost about 250k more than Lee McCulloch. Just to reiterate, that's 250k (which is hee-haw) more than Lee McCulloch. How times change.
Andreas Laudrup plays for FC Nordsjælland also in the same league. It is touted that Andreas has the potential to go into his fathers footsteps .. we're all waiting :)
to bad he retired so young in 1998, he could easily continue until 2004 or 2006, great player, one of the best Denmark has had, and the danish player that has been named player of the year in Denmark most times (4 times) We could really need him in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006... Then maybe we would've been in every group in World cup and Euro cup since 98' :(
brian laudrup was a legend, only reason the rangers NIAR side never done well in europe was the fact that the quality of teams in scotland bar 1 compared to the EPL there is not were near enuff competiton players just cant switch form on and off when the fell like it
Sadly Brian retired at a fairly early age (31 if I remember correctly) IMO he could easily have played 2-3 more seasons but all respect for wanting to quit while the game is good. Sadly the sons of Michael Laudrup, Mads and Andreas aren't developing as I think most danes expected or hoped for. Mads Laudrup currently plays for HB Køge who're newly promoted to Danish Premier League (SAS Ligaen) and
hope the rangers lads dont mind a celtic season ticket holder popping in..we went through it with alan stubbs and more recently big john hartson and when i heard brian laudrup had cancer i was gutted..probably the one thing everyone would fear the most..cancer anywhere is a horrible illness and brian will have to be up for his best performance..never mind the muppets that undoubtedly will turn up..i and alot of other celtic season ticket holders i know wish brian laudrup all the best GOD BLESS
to bad his carrier was so short becasue of injury...I enjoyed brothers Laudrup the most form all football players, there was something special in both of them
When he was in Scotland, the SPL was alot better IMHO. He played for one of Europes best teams and was outstanding in many cup finals and Old Firm games (isnt there pressure on you in those games?). His record for Denmark was outstanding aswell. Oh how we miss him :( The ball was glued to his feet, and he had some great wizardry, a gentleman aswell.
Brian Laudrup let his feet do the talking, anyone who doesen't appreciate his greaness after seeing that video does n't know football imho. Every bit as good as Davie Cooper. Also some people might like to note he played in the Bundesliga and in Serie A he played for Milan where in the 90s Serie A was the best league in the world.
what a player so glad i saw him play alongside gazza mcoist that team in the 90s was excellent but should have done better they underachived in europe, somthing i am gutted about.
Michael's main weapons was his masked passing and that he was very good at protecting the ball and ofcourse his understanding of the game. Brians main force was his speed with the ball. Overall he's about average in speed but running with the ball he's almost as fast as without and he had kinda the same understanding of the game like Michael .. just less displayed due to different role.
I can't remember that we beated Italy at this tournament, however last time a winner was found between those two nations was in Naples, when we kicked their asses with 2-3
One of two of the best scandanavians* to have graced the scottish game, the other being Larsson. Looking back, thats was when scottish football was at its height. Good times that will sadly never be achieved again :( *spelling fail?
Emerson, Juninho and Rafael, two of which were capped by Brazil. There have been more at the non Old Firm clubs too, but thought I'd just mention the bigger names. None of the three done much really.
I wish my name was Brian because maybe sometimes people would misspell my name and call me Brain. That's like a free compliment and you don't even gotta be smart to notice it.
i dont like any celtic fans mate but i like the very few that can accept that rangers have better players than celtic this man is the best ever to play in scotland WATP
12 w.ankers didn't like this video? For f.ucks sake, this is Brian Laudrup we have here. As I used to call him in the Daily Record hotline: Scotlands Player of the Century!! God Bless.
Jeg er selv dansker og har set dem spille siden før de kom på landsholdet. There's others that will agree with me that Brian was the better dribbler of the two, though I have to agree with you that Brian's force was also speed (and agility)
unfortunately he chose to be a soccer trainer/couch and to tour the country working for improving the young talents of Denmark... Thats a great job too, but he could wait those 6-8 years he had left, we needed him
Hard to compare them, Laudrup I'd say was the more skilful player, more likely to beat a man, put in good crosses and the like, Larsson was more likely to score goals, hard to argue with that scoring record. It's sorta funny, all these Italians, Brazilians, Germans, Spaniards and whatever that have played in Scotland, and two of the three world class players to have played here in recent years have been Scandinavian.
You obviously haven't seen much of his dribbling then. Some of his most famous stuff was dribbling through the entire defense. Michael was known for his superb passes and little tricks, not dribbling... even though he could do that very well too.
Larsson vs Laudrup. It's a no contest. Laudrup is the best player ever to play in Scotland. Correct me if im wrong but i don't think laudrup ever played in the SPL?
Laudrup for me. I genuinely believe this, then again I'm a Rangers man. I'd back up Laudrups case in saying he done it against a good Celtic side where as in general the Rangers teams that Larsson came up against were mince.
I ran through my history yesterday and found this comment with a lot of mistakes! :-) I don't know if it's of any use to anyone, but here is my reply. 5 years later! :-) 1: Never call anyone a bitch when you don't know what you're talking about! :-) 2: I never claimed that Brian wasn't a good player. 3: I'm not from Copenhagen! I just lived there! 4: If that's what you implied: I'm not a fan of FCK! For me it's OB forever! 5: The chicken comment wasn't made in regards to his club career
@mrbassman25 P.S ... the same evening Andy Goram came out with two big carrier bags full of clincking/clattering booze bottles... "Is that for the weekend Andy?" asked a supporter.... "Are you kidding?" says Andy ... " This is just for This Evening" haha.... happy days being a young Gers season ticket holder. Although we were shit in Europe... we had a crackin team with fantastic players. Then we get to Uefa final on a skeleton skint squad. It's a funny old game indeed
well every pro athlete misses their family, but they learn to deal with it and wait till their over 30-37 or so to retire and then spend as much time with the family as they want... He should be able to do that too...
laudrup v larrson hard to separate 2 greats but will scotland ever see players in that calibre again dont think so only if we can improve our youth systems and bring through players like cooper anddurranty of rangers and jinxy and george connellys of celtic but i dont see it

Laudrup was the best player in Rangers history
Lauders is undoubtably the best player ever to play in Scotland. He had everything, pace, skill and goals. LEGEND!
a truly Rangers LEGEND, the greatest signing RFC ever made, ashame he left we could really do with him these days
Tak for alle de fantastiske øjeblikke du har givet os Danskere. Vi er stolte af dig
Get well soon brian. Absolutely Fantastic player and a Gentleman
I doubt we'll see the likes of him at Ibrox again. What a player.
Gazza + Laudrup = best duo ever to play on scottish soil.
The few times he made appearances for Chelsea he did great even though he was suffering from injuries from WC 98... He left Chelsea because of settlement issues, if he had stayed he would have been one of the best Chelsea player ever..
a true rangers legend & a true gentleman, loved watchin this genius
from a celtic fan this is the best rangers player ever. good vid
Yeah its true.. those players you only come across once in a lifetime :(
Michael and Brian Laudrup was stuff of legends.
thanx for postin these vids babe

All three, and bloody brilliant at all three.

Laudrup was a complete legend! Watching him was a dream and especially against celtic :P!!!
havent seen much??? im danish and i have grown up watching them both play for denmark. dont you think i know what im talkning about. look at the video. that shows what brian is good at. pure speed and a great shoot.

what is the name of this song
The Laudrup vs Larsson debate will rage on and on, not just between Celtic and Rangers fans but between Swedish and Danish football fans as well.
is that rangers vs manu at 4.07?
I Miss a player like Brian in our Danish national team!!!
get well soon brian laudrup. the best player to ever play in scotland
what a class player, brilliant, legend

Haha...wtf are you talking about? Brian's a legend in Denmark. One of the best footballers from Denmark.
i think either larsson or laudrup could have walked into any team in europe in the heyday im just happy to have got to watch em play in the old firm.
when was the last european away fixture celtic won? that enough insight for you?
hope the rangers lads dont mind a celtic season ticket holder popping in..we went through it with alan stubbs and more recently big john hartson and when i heard brian laudrup had cancer i was gutted..probably the one thing everyone would fear the most..cancer anywhere is a horrible illness and brian will have to be up for his best performance..never mind the muppets that undoubtedly will turn up..i and alot of other celtic season ticket holders i know wish brian laudrup all the best GOD BLESS
just an outstanding football player, from a gers fans point of veiw i hope one day we will see the likes again.
to bad his carrier was so short becasue of injury...I enjoyed brothers Laudrup the most form all football players, there was something special in both of them
Makes me proud to be a dane!! Thank you for everything Brian!!
Greatest foreign player to play in Scotland
hes a dane.. one of the best ever.. brian u rock !! u and lars høgh.. !! and your brothers..
Han var kanon ! :) He was great :)
brian laundrup best winger rangers have had for a long time
When he was in Scotland, the SPL was alot better IMHO.
He just made it look so easy. Best player in the SPL by a long way.
Brian Laudrup let his feet do the talking, anyone who doesen't appreciate his greaness after seeing that video does n't know football imho. Every bit as good as Davie Cooper.
Also some people might like to note he played in the Bundesliga and in Serie A he played for Milan where in the 90s Serie A was the best league in the world.
excellent player!
Brian You are a legend you will beat this no bother!
Get well soon mate!
Watp
Just a minor correction: His carreer wasn´t short because of injury. It was short because he chickened out prematurely.
My age is starting to show as well....
Correction: It was in Portugal 2004, where Totti showed himself as a lama
in my eyes and certianly alot of other peoples eyes the best ever foreign player to play in scottish football we are the people
what a player so glad i saw him play alongside gazza mcoist that team in the 90s was excellent but should have done better they underachived in europe, somthing i am gutted about.
No, that was during the European championship in Holland/Belgium and the match ended with a draw 0-0
Not taking anything away from him, but not as entertaining to watch as his brother.
Both were great though, I acknowledge.
Micheal was more a tactician and super-passer, while Brian was the dribbler.
best player to ever wear the shirt!
or walter smith manager and brian laudrup as the assistant manager?
I can't remember that we beated Italy at this tournament, however last time a winner was found between those two nations was in Naples, when we kicked their asses with 2-3

what an absolute genious! He will always be god, no1 else will overshadow him.
yeah...as fast as his brother.. 2 more on the way LOL HAHAHAHA LOL. More sons please :-)
God save the Laudrup clan!
i dont like any celtic fans mate
but i like the very few that can accept that rangers have better players than celtic
this man is the best ever to play in scotland
WATP
@4YaPloNo1 well said sir, thankfully he has been given the all clear.
His sheer class is a rarity nowadays!
Get well soon, Brain terror to the hoops :D
P.S. U2...a bit ironic?
12 w.ankers didn't like this video? For f.ucks sake, this is Brian Laudrup we have here. As I used to call him in the Daily Record hotline: Scotlands Player of the Century!! God Bless.
Look at that balance. It's like ballet :-)
1 WORD......LEGEND
Jeg er selv dansker og har set dem spille siden før de kom på landsholdet.

Winger by default, but with a free role, I would say.
some great goals there, just a pity he could only do it in scotland , he was found out everywhere else he went
unfortunately he chose to be a soccer trainer/couch and to tour the country working for improving the young talents of Denmark... Thats a great job too, but he could wait those 6-8 years he had left, we needed him
Just pure magic :)

Sometimes I find videos of Players of this quality quite depressing. Now we can't even sign a championship player called Shittu.
apparently michael laudrups sons are on the way to becoming professional

LEGEND LEGEND LEGEND
great player great guy, he'll destroy cancer the way he destroyed defences:with grace and bravery
now we have charlie adam
laudrup v larrson hard to separate 2 greats but will scotland ever see players in that calibre again dont think so only if we can improve our youth systems and bring through players like cooper anddurranty of rangers and jinxy and george connellys of celtic but i dont see it
Great FOOTBALL there Brian
Ha! @0:56 he signals an Aussie rules football goal.
Get well soon Brian.
The guy was amazing to watch and very often destroyed the tim's with ease !!
The best ever in scottish football ever?
well said mate cheers
along with gazza a true fucking legend
I'd probably describe him as an attacking midfielder.
i agree but other teams marked him out the game, the rest of our boys never picked up the slack
