4.2TDI V8 - I had a A8 D3, its just something else to drive.
What a experience and power output it has, specially when you are on it and pushing it over time.
Mine was stock, but the BVN engine when it got really hot, it gave quite a nice deep V8 rumble on low rpms.
Amazing engines. Also very friendly :)
Sounds great but if you want to hear the best sounding diesel listen to the symphony of the Om606
Hot damn you're correct! This 4.2l sounds great but I love that OM606 symphony too! I crack out to anyone featuring that platform, especially the Diesel Pump UK's channel.
I manage a Five Guys, and somehow I knew when you said he was a potato farmer from NL it would be someone growing out potatoes 🤣
You must use them because they can get them to you quicker in their V8 diesels! 😉
I saw a 2017 SQ7 a couple a weeks ago and it sounded amazing.
That sounds phenomenal
Yeah sounds epic, mildly amusing that it's a Q7 van too, Rj in Oz
That’s one mental away from a cease and desist from Aaron lambo 😂😂 great video. Actually got me contemplating a v8 tdi now . Currently have an x5 4.6is as the daily
I fully deleted my 2.0 tdi and only running the 3"downpipe. It sounds great and is very loud when you get on it. If driving normally is not very loud
That seems to be a straight pipe diesel trait. Stealth mode at quarter throttle, world ending mode when you put your foot in it
@@Robdutton91 I've got a 330cd M57 running open de cat pipe and nowt else. Not really that loud so I think it depends on the car.
That’s really cool!
I had to watch twice the first bit “if you like potatoes” 😂
I thought it was a nickname for the Q7 😂
This is a beast, have you guys done the pipes as well as a map ? When you revved it static it sounded like one of those Scania V8’s the Dutch go “mental” about.
It’s great that it’s a van….. Less weight !!!!
not just the dutch mate. those dudes spend their 45 min break in the layby polishing their wheels. there was a dude with a basic bitch R320 6 wheeler, he put chrome rings on the rims!
A bit like a Scania v8 👌
from belgium here and driving a bit in ireland over the last 2 years.
you get used to it but driving on the left with a left hand drive car is not that bad only a few points.
-overtaking on normal roads is a nightmare as you can't realy see approaching traffic.
- your light are allign wrong as they are allign to light oup the right side of the road where normaly the sidewalk is but now it tends to blind oncoming traffic.
- Tolls boots are inconvenient > always go to the one with a person as they can assist you
Being a kiwi in Norway I can't understand how you brits continue to drive on the other side of the road. At least we have Asia and Australia who are on the same side as us down there. You make it so hard on yourselves.
if it wasn't for left handed Napoleon everyone else would've followed suit ie driving on the left side
Word of the day “MENTAL”😉👍💪
Gosh I love that sound, holy shit.
Sounds great! OM606 owner here.
When you said potato, I thought you might have been talking about the sound. Harley-Davidson patented the sound of their v-twins. In the paperwork, they describe the cammed-out idle sounds like “potato potato potato” 😂. Probably with an American accent
damn funny to see a fellow dutchman on the darkside compound
Belle vidéo 👌 😉
Any wonder five guys is so expensive... Their spuds are being carted about in V8 Q7s. Class...
Great video! Nice numbers too, What has been done to the exhaust? Is it just back boxes deleted? Or more?
The reason why the car is a ‘van’ is because in the netherlands there is a thing called ‘bedrijfswagen’ translated, companycar. It will significantly reduces costs like roadway taxes. Its also a tax write off.
sounds like an rs7, thats nice. i thin an a6 or 7 with than engine would be cool, like and rs6 TDI
I'm from the Netherlands and I must say, the right side is the correct side to ride. That is when riding a carriage.. you can hold the reigns in your left hand and easily take out your 6shooter with your dominant hand to fend off robbers.
Must say when riding I do prefer the sound of the 450/500hpV6tdi A5 you had.
So what exhaust mods has it got
Is it just straight pipe after the dpfs. Or have they been removed as well
@@DarksideDevelopments Nice 👌. Need to get mine started. Valved with side exit boom tubes keeping the standard back box for best of both worlds
Just need to find time to fabricate it 😂🤦♂️
Sounds awesome , and the layout WHAW ??????
Still think the 3.0 TDI sounds better.
If you do it right that diesel v6 sounds just like a gtr, but it’s just diesel powered. I’d like to swap one of those diesel V6s into a gtr one day, fully built ofc
Why?............WHY NOT, that's reason enough. Lovely vid cheers, also I had a lefthand drive for a while and I got used to it.
sounds like trucker Tim's scania
Been searching for years for such a video! Have had this exact car (Q7 4.2TDI) for last 8 years & it sounds tame AF! My mum's got a '17 Cayenne V8 TDI which is stock & sounds awesome & can't understand why!? I just bought a 2016 VW Treg R-Line V8 TDI and it also sounds boring AF?! What should I do... the suitcase apparently does nothing but lose weight... hmmm. Do I need a DPF/EGR delete for throaty sounds?
Exhaust system will most definitely help. Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk and we can give you advice on what to do :)
That will be doing runs from rotterdam and antwerp docks for sure 😅
I thought my Brera 2.4jtdm sounded nice but this sounds epic 😂
I’ve had a 156 with the 2.4, best sounding 5 pot smoker out there.
My bro has 2 159 2.4’s.
One is standard, the other has had everything constricting removed and a map. It goes like foook 💨💨💨
@@Dan23_7 mines been a long term project for the past 4-5 years. I recently had a JTD performance intercooler fitted, with a swirl flap and egr delete and a stage 1 map. Big improvement over standard even just the smoothness at the lower end of the range 🙌
Po-a-o fa-eh? Iss mem-ah mate.
It sound like the rs6 c8 when it accelerate
wow
Q7 van cant get rarer than that
That's one way to deliver potatoes to Five Guys
BMW 3.0 straight 6 is a corker too
Sounds very C63ish if that’s a thing? 🤷🏼♂️ absolute beast
On a side note, what mount do you use for your go pros on cars!?
@@DarksideDevelopments I’ve got a few for use at Santa pod but I’m a bit scared! 🫣
Has a very nice sound but not loud i wouldn't say mental
Should have converted it to run on chip oil. Free motoring and fast food 😄👍
that sounds very nice is the exhaust one of yours .
@@DarksideDevelopments do you do downpipes / exhaust for the newer 4.2 tdi v8 engines? Audi a8 2012
I'd put 16 inch wheels with zero offset on it on with 35 or 38 inch tyres
Sounds close to a 6.0 powerstroke
Men'l made me do it
Swap it into a Miata (MX-5) 😂😂😂
Sounds great but its hard to beat a Scania V8 Diesel
I prefer the Land Rover Tdv8 or the TDV6 or TD5
Yh sounds wicked but 3.0 tdi sounds better if going q7 got to be the 6.0 tdi of you can find one 😂
V8 Scania sounds😂
Potato farmer 🤔🤣🤣
ever heard of a Detroit diesel 😅
reit then, men-ol
Menthol 😅
Mentuhl
Mental 😂😂
points I always consider:
If the whole world operates on a naturally clockwise motion then surely our roundabouts are correct& (not in this case) but with a manual car surely it is better to have both left foot and left hand in unison operating the clutch and gear lever
therefore I think naturally it is better to drive on the left 🤷🏻
@@DarksideDevelopments regardless of left, right or centre like the McLaren F1 keep up the good work guys 😄
I'm an avid diesel fan albeit my all-time favourite was the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP! 🔥
Right side steering wheel is wrong. The vast majority of countries have it on the left. Most people are right handed meaning it's more natural to shift gears with your right hand. And 1st and 2nd which are the most used you pull them towards you, whereas with your left hand you push them awkwardly away from you in your right hand drive car. So yeah...think about it
Big shout out to all the Porsche Cayenne owners who bought 18" winter wheels sets and letting us poor VW/Audi owners have them for next to nothing.
Very fasht
Best deisel is mercedes e400 cdi straight pipe
I bet your Scania sounds better than this one, but it's still really nice sound.
5-Guys: spend $50 for a burger and fry dinner for your fam.
Sounds cute. Nothing on a thong slapping 70’s series land cruiser
Naa the 2.5 or 5.0 tdi pd sounds so much better, 5-10 cylidner can't be beat for sound but still a beautiful sound for the v8 :)
sounds menoul
1.9 tdi is The best
the lack of "T" in pronouncing "mental" is bothering me as a non native speaker :D
right is wrong
You can't beat an I5 or V10. No matter what fuel they run on, they're all the best sounding engines 👌👌
As the owner of a Volvo S60 with a 2.4L i5, I agree lol
@@qwertiee I've got a C70 T5, absolute weapons 👍
@@MegaCai123 Yup absolutely! We both got the B52 engines, you just have the bored out 2.5L turbo, I got the 2.4L N/A. I got a catback exhaust on mine and I'm actually browsing around for an intake upgrade too right now hahaha
I used to agree until I heard a 6 into 1 header v12 in person😂
I6 aswell !!
