Just a little correction. Gojo can turn on and off his six eyes ability, (the limitless technique). Therefore, he doesn't get drained just by uncovering his eyes. He does that because he doesn't want people to know when he is using his technique. 👍😉

Day 89 of recommending the opening and ending of "Spare Me Great Lord". It's a chinese anime, so slightly different to the stuff you've reacted to so far, but it's got some of the vibest music and animation I've ever seen.
The difference between the higher-ups trying to 'off' Yuji out of fear vs. trying to 'off' Gojo out of fear, is that they know Yuji is just an inexperienced student (as long as he has control of his body) so an assassination is possible, but Gojo is Gojo. In other words, they know they wouldn't stand a chance in a fight against Gojo.
