Dude how do you tune your guitar with a tuner for this song? My tuner wont tell the note
Hey Steam Punk! Yeah, this open D can be a pretty funky tuning (especially with a standard tuner)...Here is an excellent resource from none other than Fender - www.fender.com/online-guitar-tuner/acoustic-guitar-tuning/ Also Steam, I use the Fender tuning app (I swear they aren't paying me!). It is really great and you can just set your phone in your lap while you play each string, and it has all types of different tunings you can adjust to. Please let me know if you still need more help, we will get you up and strumming my friend!

I really wanted to learn this song after a couple others from LiS, and today was really shitty day, so I kinda motivated myself to try this new song. And boi I feel so happy right now, that I can play this right-away, damn it is so easy and beautiful 😍. I literally started playing this before the video even ended.

Hey Fis! This would be a great song if you are just getting into guitar. The plucking pattern is really rhythmic so it may be a song that you can fall into quickly as the muscle memory of your fingers starts to improve. If you get frustrated, just set it down and come back to it later (I usually wait an entire day if I get really pissed!) and when you come back, you will start hitting notes much more easily than before. It is like your brain needs a moment to lock the information into place. Above all else Fis, believe in yourself and KNOW THAT YOU ARE ALREADY AWESOME!!

Just finished Life is Strange today. I've watched gameplays of it when it was releasing, but damn it hits different when you play it yourself. I felt it was unfair that a whole town had to die for Chloe, so I made the hardest decision in the game.

Just a beginner, thanks for your help with this, this is basicallyy the song that made me want to start to play. Just one thing, when you go to the fifth fret (from the capo) with your ring finger, on the second string from the bottom, it sounds a little off to me and it seems a little better if you play just the first string alone instead does it make sense?
Hey Kript! It absolutely make sense. What you are hearing is some intonation when you hit those notes (because it is the same note just on different strings), so it will nearly always sound a bit off no matter how well tuned (or how expensive) your guitar is. Your idea about playing the open string is great! Adding some new dynamic to any song you learn and making it unique to your playing style is really awesome! This is a great question and I hope this answer helped a bit. Thank you so much for your kindness and keep rocking!

Wanted to thank you for that Tutorial, i don‘t comment very often..
I only have one quick question: I noticed that you play the 2nd and 3rd string with your middlefinger and the 4th one with your Index, i wonder if it‘s okay to use the ringfinger for the 2nd string, the 3rd one middle and 4th one Index, that works better for me.
I don‘t want it to become a bad Habit, because i‘m pretty much at the beginning of my guitar journey.

Hey Demonic! Firstly, thank you so much for your comment, that is really kind of you! To answer your question: The general rule with any fingerstyle (or classical) playing is to use your thumb for the top three strings (E,A,D in standard tuning), your index finger for the G string, middle finger for the B, and your ring finger for the high E. As you can see from this video (and all of my videos) not only do I break this rule constantly, but most classical guitarists (or really any person who has had a day of formal guitar training) would have a heart attack just based on the way I hold my right hand when I play. If you are looking to learn proper technique, I am afraid I am probably the worst person you could emulate. However, if you are trying to avoid having bad form (like me), it may be worth a few extra minutes to look up some hand positions and learn the proper technique. Other than that, just play it how it is most comfortable for you. Look at my tutorials as more of a guide to get you started if you will, as opposed to some rigid series of steps you have to take to perform the song correctly. Most of all, just have fun! is it in another standard statement or pitch? because my guitar is in the standard tuning and with capotraste and still doesn’t sound the same, will it be the 3 string and nylon?
It is in open D tuning. I think if you skip to around 1:25 or so I explain the tuning a little bit. I hope this helps.
