Thanks for this video. I've been playing the game over the past few days and really love the VR Aim. You did a good job showing what needs to be done to survive the attacks. I'm in my 50's and feel like a kid again with this stuff. I've watched video game progress over the years and VR is such a huge leap forward its not even funny. So immersive. Looking forward to what the developers come up with in the future.
I would have prefer if they had added an option in the game to use two move controllers since there is no drift on those and anybody could easily make or buy a gunstock for them. But instead they manufactured this faulty piece of hardware.
@@gus3534 yeah. If there were 2 lights on the gun, it would probably be better. Sony decided to go cheap. Game developers just keep picking the gun too. But it's still better than using the ps4 controller to aim in stuff like firewall.
Played about 3 hours so far, definitly the best gunplay I have ever expereinced. Not all that impressed by the overall game yet, but it does the job of proving just how much better VR can make the FPS genere going forward. Hopefully this will help get some of the bigger players in the space to put their weight behind advancing to VR. I would absolutely love to see games from Bungie, Crytek, Dice, One of the COD teams, Guerrilla Games, and Insomniac. Just like Driveclub and Dirt Rally VR did for racing, I never want to go back to playing FPS on traditional displays and controllers again.
Faisai Matahari I wish I could help, but I have not had any issues with motion sickness on PSVR. I know it is a real thing, because I have had a couple of people get really messed up by Driveclub, and even had one get sick. The best thing I can suggest is take it slow, check the options and set everything to the slowest and least jarring setting. Stay seated, and keep a single stable focal point. If you take it easy, you may be able to adjust, and eventually over come the issues. Hope you can get over this hurdle, because there are incredible experinces, and amazing adventures to enjoy in VR.
Kevyn Grams how could you not want to go back yo playing fps games traditionally? the technology definietly isnt there yet, it would seem very inconvinient and clunky playing a game like cod or battleifled multillayer on this. would take years for the technology to be right. this is good for games singleplayer games likke this, thats it
Matt Fab I'm gonna have to disagree. When set up correct, this game plays extreamly well. I have finished the story twice now, played through all of the challanges, and spent about 15 hours on co-op with my room mate and my brother. This is definitely how I want to play all fps titles in the future. The co-op is especially good, and shows more than any other mode just how far VR advances the medium. After playing the co-op, I really want Grand Theft Auto 6 on PS5/XB4/PC, and gen 2 VR. The level of immersion, the ability to comunicate, and the satisfaction of motion controls all add up to something more akin to a life expereince rathen than simple time killed playing a game. This game has proven VR, motion, and the infrastructure is ready for AAA level FPS titles. It massively improves the expereince in every aspect. I know that strapping a headset on and being active is not everyones idea of how they want to expereince games, but for me, it is all about trasporting me to another world, and giving me oppertunities to do things I could never afford, be physically capable of, or just flat don't exsist in real life. So yes, I have very little interest in going back to FPS titles with a traditional controller and display.

TheETstories There's a reason why the movement speed is limited in this game. The fast movement and jumping around in Doom would make you want to throw up instantly. I'd say I have a pretty high tolerance to motion sickness but even I couldn't handle some of the fast paced FPS demos I played on Oculus.
Yea, the game is incredible! Previews can't describe the feeling when you plug into the virtual world. Its nicely paced so far. I'm so glad I gave it a chance as I was a skeptic and I'm totally blown away. I think its a must own.
You'll be glad to know I haven't had any motion sickness at all playing Far Point. I was a bit afraid of that, because some other VR games definitely made me feel a bit sick in the past, but so far, I have been absolutely fine with Far Point, which is rather surprising given that it's a game where you move around a lot.
I have only just got a PS4/PSVR HEADSET/AIM ... (PC gamer)! The VR headset is brilliant ... it just works! no fuss ... and the AIM in farpoint is brilliant ... the whole VR is amazing .. its like you are there ...the future of gaming without a doubt .. well done Sony ...

10-15 years from now we will look back to the advent of vr gaming and laugh at ourselves saying, "wow, we used to wear such bulky masks around our head like that?" for real though, this is the most intuitive peripheral for vr yet
bl8danjil The weapon shake is because of lighting and tracking issues. A stock would not fix that. Just make it a bit more comfortable to hold and aim.
I'm glad there is no aim assist. I found that when vr games try to correct things to help me it often makes me get a little motion sick because there is a disconnect between what I think will happen and what actually happens.

I admit the control looks like a bunch of pipes but the aesthetics dont matter as when you are actually in the game game it will be able to adapt to different weapons and will feel comfortable as the controls are in the correct places
Agree. The good thing is that it's a very solid and light weight controller and feels pretty comfortable. The buttons don't feel cheap either. There is a lot going on inside this controller that you can't see.
It now has a 1v1 with A.I. monsters thrown in the mix, and some co-op. I just got it so I haven't explored that. The game with the aim controller is a must have for PSVR owners imo.

Huge step in the right direction for VR. Now we just need a frictionless quarter-sphere that we strap ourselves to and we can run around in any direction without actually going anymore except in-game. ^_^
Dude this in one of the bigger platforms like Call of Duty or Battlefield would be incredible. It'd be nice to see a playlist solely for the use of VR.
I wonder if you can turn around and go the opposite direction. The camera demands that you look forward and the thumb controls only allow you to strafe left and right, not turn around and go the other way so I'm really curious how it works if at all.
marco39120 Go to settings. Set turning to smooth. Set sensitivity to 11. You're welcome. That stick closer to your body can be used to do a 180 instead of your body so you can remain forward IRL. I didn't find out until halfway through the game, but I was so satisfied when I figured it out. Game on!
How do you mean? Every major VR headset brand is entirely sold out right now and has been for a month. Rift, Quest, Vive, and even Index. If you want to buy an Index right now you actually have to enter a waiting list similar to buying a Tesla. Five years from now people will be amazed that most people were using VR without full body tracking or even roomscale.
I love the idea of this but what I can't wait for more then anything is what the evaluation of this will become in the future games get more and more realistic

farpoint just looks like the new Doom mixed with Gears of War in VR. Infact that's exactly what it is. I'm not hating on it, I love both of those games
Shooting technology for games have been around since the 80's. But what this is does is it makes you think you have a F++King ray gun in your hand!! Thats the leap.
Everyone in the comments saying, "WOAH!! So cool, this looks the best!!". But untill you actually experience vr through Resisdent Evil 7, or Driveclub.....well yea...that WOAH will be 10x more excited

The only bad thing in the game is that if an enemy is behind you then it will go around so you can shoot it.

Dude this in one of the bigger platforms like Call of Duty or Battlefield would be incredible. It'd be nice to see a playlist solely for the use of VR.

You can print a mod for it if you have access to a 3d printer. There's a guy on youtube showing off the one he printed it's really cool.
I wonder if you can turn around and go the opposite direction. The camera demands that you look forward and the thumb controls only allow you to strafe left and right, not turn around and go the other way so I'm really curious how it works if at all.

marco39120 Go to settings. Set turning to smooth. Set sensitivity to 11. You're welcome. That stick closer to your body can be used to do a 180 instead of your body so you can remain forward IRL. I didn't find out until halfway through the game, but I was so satisfied when I figured it out. Game on!

How do you mean? Every major VR headset brand is entirely sold out right now and has been for a month. Rift, Quest, Vive, and even Index. If you want to buy an Index right now you actually have to enter a waiting list similar to buying a Tesla. Five years from now people will be amazed that most people were using VR without full body tracking or even roomscale.
I love the idea of this but what I can't wait for more then anything is what the evaluation of this will become in the future games get more and more realistic

farpoint just looks like the new Doom mixed with Gears of War in VR. Infact that's exactly what it is. I'm not hating on it, I love both of those games
this shooting technology was developed way back when duck hunt was released
Shooting technology for games have been around since the 80's. But what this is does is it makes you think you have a F++King ray gun in your hand!! Thats the leap.

There is no way a video can translate the true Vr Experience. I bought this Vr HeadSet and it blew my mind when i played this game.
THe PSVR2 just needs the Aim Controller.
