  • Today, Yayoi Kusama is widely celebrated as a towering figure in contemporary art. But behind this lies a powerful story of a tenacious artist with a compelling vision. In this episode of Expert Voices, take an in-depth look at Kusama’s extraordinary journey with Heather Lenz, director and producer of the critically acclaimed documentaryKusama: Infinity. Discover Kusama’s distinctive ability to challenge perception and push boundaries through early works like Interminable Net #4, offered as a highlight of Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Evening Sale in Hong Kong. A precursor to Minimalism made during the height of Abstract Expressionism, Interminable Net #4 exemplifies Kusama’s bold eagerness to articulate her voice in spite of any obstacles or prejudice. I admire sothebys pushing Art from women But looks they only care about:
-Struggling in NY during the late 50s to be an artist
-Have a simple repetitive style to sell LOTS of pieces
JUST KEEP DOING IT FOR 60 YEARS

I don’t see it. Anything in particular make you say that? I’m a fan of both artists.
