Jessica Knappet was in the Inbetweeners movie and she was also in a series of Taskmaster . WILTY is what David once called a ' parlour game' it's just for fun . They are able to embellish stories as long as they are basically true . The Lies are written on a card and they haven't seen them before they read it .
There is also an AWESOME clip of the UK Drunk History with her telling the story of Lord Byron and Mat from the Six Idiots playing Lord Byron (which after Ghosts is now meta comedy in and of itself). :D
Hi 'King Boomer. New subscriber, first time comment-leaver. I came across your channel quite by accident a few weeks ago. Found you reacting to English football chants, looking further and then delving into UK comedy. It's not only just your reaction as an American to UK comedy, which is hilarious, I really appreciate you trying to learn as much, as the obvious Anglophile you are, from the comments. It's also that I had forgotten myself how much is out there. You covered so many of my favourites, Monty Python, Dave Allen (Irish), Harry Enfield, Al Murray. But so many others are out there: Blackadder (excl series 1), all of Fry & Laurie, French & Saunders (esp their spoofs on famous films), Absolutely Fabulous, The Fast Show (esp Charlie Higson and Paul Whitehouse sketches), Drop the Dead Donkey, Smack the Pony, The League of Gentlemen. The list is so long. Many of these comedians began on radio: mostly BBC, but I realise that doesn't work on TH-cam. For night owls though I can from immediate memory suggest Elvenquest, The Castle, The Unbelievable Truth (with David Mitchell), The News Quiz, I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue (both of which go waaayyy back) and Cabin Pressure (my absolute favourite, John Finnemore. 'Yellow car'). On TH-cam for brief relief I find myself going to Graham Norton's compilations from time to time, most notably 'Funny race horse names' and 'Hilarious Restaurant Menu Fails'. They're short and might suit your channel. Don't look at the comments though: they will need another whole section of your time. Love what you do do. Carry on.
He clearly loves UK culture/comedy, a massive history buff as well, partly why I subbed. Great recommendations. Some of which he knows. Love Smack the Pony! and The League... _'On TH-cam for brief relief'_ You're a poet now?🤣
David Mitchell and Robert Webb's comedy sketch show, That Mitchell and Wbb Look, ran for several serie and was packed with top quality comedy. Not sure how easy it is to react to and publish though.
Of course it was a lie, Boomy, you should know that neither of his parents actually drive . . . they'd send their Chauffeur, Butler, or Under Houseman to pick him up - unless they were all too busy . . . 😉
Was the previous one Bob Mortimer and the cat in the pram? If so, you can never be sure of anything Bob says. He's driven David Mitchell to distraction with his unbelievable truths over the years - and he's always worth watching! BTW, it almost certainly had to be a lie - if he left early, how would his mum have known when to pick him up? And yes that's Jessica Knappet from the Inbetweeners movie - she was also a contestant during one season of Taskmaster, and ever since then every time I see her I imagine her imitating an air horn!
*Jessica Knappett* created the official *The Inbetweeners* spin-off *Drifters* (2013-2016) which is full of *The Inbetweeners* cast and crew from the films and the show.
I only beat myself up if my answer is wrong AND differs from the final answer of the opposing team. But it's all just a lot of fun. Keep it up! Love the content😂 in South Africa
Yes, that's Jessica Knappett from the Inbetweeners movie. You should check out the series that she wrote & starred in "Drifters" - it's the Inbetweeners after college, if they had been girls. Bob Mortimer plays her dad.
Never Say Never (Mr Bond) I think it is her, and wow if David says it's a lie then it's a lie... but I bet he had brief case aged 10, surely lol Cheers King! Get back to these, they are great!
Jessica Knappett the Bradford-born creator of Drifters (2013-2016) the official The Inbetweeners spin-off, executive produced by the Inbetweeners creators, full of crew and cast members from The Inbetweeners films and TV shows, plus Bob Mortimer among other comedians.
Yeah that is her, she's been in loads of stuff since then though, even a sit-com with the other inbetweener girlfriends..i think it was called slackers
Hi King Boomer, I’m a new subscriber. Judging by the content you view on here, I’m thinking you’re ready for Nathan Barley. British comedy, only two series. It’s absolute gold, you’ll love it.
To add for Boomer: [sorry, Australian, I always think of you as a kangaroo now Mr Boomer ;) ]: there is a "would I lie to you" channel clip vid of only Bob Mortimer stories--but again, I'd watch at least 1 episode of WILTY as a whole, because context for the show itself matters. :D
The thing you have to remember is this show has run for 16 series and David Mitchell and Lee Mack have been on every one. Most of their tales a false. The guests are usually the ones with true tales
Please do more Little Britain! It's quintessentialy British 😂 and it's not too long just like inbetweeners it's 3 seasons 6 episodes per one and then do little Britain USA
Does it really matter in the whole sequence of world affairs? NO! of course not, the whole programme is a bit of fun and being right or wrong hardly matters!! (Why do Americans take things so seriously?)😀😀😀
This one was obviously not true because it's based on what Davids' parents would have done to him when he was 10 - those people who said true are basing their answer on Davids unusual personality now, as an Adult. The story was Not about David, it was about his parents, and no one knows about them, their personality or quirks or when they would have done to their 10 year old David. Hence - not true.
It's not a gameshow, that implies there are contestants trying to win actual prizes. This is a panel show, that implies there are only muppets, trying to out muppet each other. And we were all saying you were 'an honorary Brit!' For shame Boomer! You now need to give penance by saying _'People who ride horses enjoy Horse riding not HorseBACK riding'._ Three whole times! On camera!

The series was better than the film I thought.
Nah. Trailer park boys
SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!
Getting it right is like playing the lottery. That's because Lee & David are so expert at spinning a line!
I love David Mitchell. No one does self deprecating better.

Wait - are we the bad guys?
She did play Neil's girlfriend in the Inbetweeners.
Her character in the movie was called Lisa, and played by comedian Jessica Knappett

No it was Rory Reid's story about the cat having walked 100 miles to get back through his cat flap. He was convinced it wasn't possible.

I'm surprised how much you care about guessing the outcome correctly 😂
YEY! The Mike Bubbins Episode.
Sometimes the after comments are fun…you do know it’s less about Truth or Lie and more about the characters and the interplay.
There's a compilation of Mitchell rants somewhere on TH-cam.
I agree on Bob Mortimer, he is brilliant
Who goes to a disco with a briefcase? Even David Mitchell isn't THAT weird. 😂

If you haven't already, you MUST watch Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie to You. He's fantastic.
He traumatises David now. In a funny way.
Claudia (for KB, the lady to David's left on his team) is always good value, too.
