I am putting together a capsule wardrobe for work that would get me 2 months of unique outfits! These 14 versatile pieces create over 40 outfits while keeping a clean, classic style that is suits my personal tast. Dress these pieces up with jewelry and accessories and your work week is bound to be flawless!
For reference, I am 5’ 10” and traditionally a size 22/3X. Bust 51”, waist 45.5”, and hips 51” at the time of filming.
I feel like City Chic runs true to size to a little snug. If you are between sizes, I would size up. I ordered everything in a 22 except for the black Blazer and the maroon coat- I ordered both in a 20.

You looked amazing in everything. City Chic makes up a large portion of my wardrobe in the UK. My treat items are usually from Monsoon. Pricey but great quality. They specialise in ethnic styles which I love as I like an element of rock chick in my off duty wardrobe. Do you have Monsoon in the US? City Chic do some lovely dresses. I have bought a few that button down the front to wear as like duster jackets with trousers. They have belts which I tie at the back to cinch in and give some shape. My go to coat is a trench coat with a detachable hood. They are not too hot when in shopping centres but you can layer underneath for chilly weather. The hood means you are OK in wind and rain. They are a classic style and can be dressed up or down. My every day trench is from City Chic and is in the classic light beige and machine washable on a gentle cycle. Glad you have found this brand as they offer good value for money and have some good sales bargains. Wendy

Congratulations on your weight loss! I totally agree with you on buying what you love. I love the Black and White top with the black pants. I also like seeing you inter act with your dog. I like the skin tight pants, because it is a constant reminder that I am on a weight loss journey and if I cheat it will show. I don't think it is the jewel tone of your cloths, it is the bright red lipstick you wear that makes a dramatic difference. Watch your video and notice when you wear the bright red lipstick compared to the others muted colors. I love that last black blazer, but without the shirt underneath it.

I'm not a plus size but I love how you prove that plus size can look good with the right clothes. I think the skirt is awesome. Love this concept of this. You don't need a ton of clothes for a trip or everyday. I did this for a 5 day trip and everyone was amazed at how little I took and still had room to pack in a long dress and shoes on the return trip. My bag is an under the plane seat size. So a few coordinating pieces go a long way. Keep up the good work on educational videos

I’d love to see a pop of bright color. Maybe a teal. I think plus size women hide in dark colors too much. I say that as my closet is mostly black, but I come from a time where you tried to hide if you were a plus size. At 64 and I’m daring to add color. Thanks for showing us a beautiful wardrobe.

I am working on a capsule wardrobe. What i am finding out that if you invest in better quality items, and build a wardrobe around a capsule wardrobe you actually save money and look very put togethet. You can go to your closet and find anything that matches. No days of I dont have anything to wear. Nikol Johnson gives a list of items of every women needs in her wardrobe to have a witkjng wardrobe. Thank you for this awesome video.
I would also gravitate toward the wide leg as a larger woman, however I think your sister in-law might be right about the classic tapered leg on you it made your legs look longer and more elegant. Sorry if that was a bit personal. Clarks do a water proofing spray you could use on your coat.

I love the skirt and your shirt choices. I stay far away from the front slit pants. They are not for me.
Now you can still wear the bigger jeans by adding a piece of elastic and 2 buttons they sale button hole elastic and just cut a button hole and hand stitch the button hole.
As an Australian I am pleasantly surprised to see City Chic featured here and having seen the white pants on a real person, I might give them a go! [I know models are real people too but you know, not under studio lighting; I never feel I can trust advertising f white pants] Your capsule is gorgeous, and jewel tones definitely work for you!

You in West Louisiana. February is usually our coldest month. For years I have not even really had a true overcoat. Now I’ve lost 125 lbs I will probably need one for a couple of months lol.

I wanted to find out what shapewear you use - clearly that doesn't need a video, but I really struggle finding good shapewear that doesn't roll up or down and actually smothes me out a bit so I am less lumpy. Meredith, you always look so good!
Thank you! In this one, I’m wearing some old spanx 🤣. The ones that I like the most (I wore them in the last two dress videos) are long shorts by Fabletics- they have a tag that says Yitty on them. When I get home I will see if I can get more info- I ordered true to size snd one size down- for fancy events, I squeeze into the size down, but my normal size does good things, too! I like them better than True Kind, Shapermint, and Spanx. They do a good job not rolling down!

@@BigonStyle Sometimes it takes looking at things from a different perspective. And often those of us who are plus sized are taught wear only x style. But, if the clothing is properly fitted, darn near anything can look amazing. Everyone is unique though. There is no true one size fits all. If that makes sense. My pain levels are up! 😜

I like your outfit #13. The shirt looks great tucked out. You and I would look good with a boat neck, neck line. It isn't quite square like you are wearing here; but it is never the less flattering. I also like the black top and skinny pants #17. I am sure I liked a LOT more but these choices but these two stood out so far. I love the purple and black coat.

I am also on a weight loss journey (just starting with what I think is the right mindset finally) and I was looking and there is such a void on TH-cam but your videos!!!! They are everything to me! Thank you for your excellently-organized and communicative videos! One thing I need to ask you is how do your tops NOT shift around on your shoulders, exposing understraps?? I avoid larger necklines, never wear boat necklines or duper rounded ones any more because the "holes" shift around like a silky thing on an orange. Thanks for considering my Q. Hey Liz, I struggle with that, too! This black top had a black strap across the back that kept those bad boys up - I read some reviews praising it and was pretty impressed! Now, when I moved in certain ways, it made the straps look weird, but it concealed the bra
I have a couple of boat necklines that I wear a strapless bra with. I found one at Lane Bryant that was called the multi way boost. It is incredibly comfortable- I bought 2 more and wear them everyday- but normally with the straps attached! I hope that helps!!

Just watched the episode, and your sister-in-law is right. You do look thinner in a more fitted pant. I think because it narrows as it goes down (like an upside triangle) from your waist to ankles.

I’m really missing the subscription box specialty of channel ha d before. Variety is great and so are l opportunities for you to grow or for you to take sponsored videos to try new brands and all. But I was really loving the dedication to subscription boxes.
I really appreciate you letting me know what you would like to see and I’m sorry for the pivot. I will let know know that subscription boxes are not going away, but they also will not be able to be my primary focus. I love getting them, but they do become cost prohibitive to do as often as I was initially. I started doing them because I needed clothes in a new size and really wanted to see what they had to offer. I will be keeping Stitch Fox, an occasional Wantable, and DAILYLOOK- but that one may end up going away eventually- oh- and Fashom! I have 3 sealed Fashom boxes that I need to film!!
I will tell you that sponsored content is also not going away. Some of it pays me, some of it just sends me clothing that they would like me to review, but it gives a much wider price range to my audience and helps subsidize what I’m spending on Subscription boxes. Making this venture self-sustaining.
I know that is probably not what you wanted to hear, and I really appreciate you feeling comfortable enough to bring that to me.
