Yea it doesn’t make sense this deep in such a small area. Reeling up alone takes a lot of time. Plus, we got bit going in that direction so maybe the halibut orient in a certain position into the current making the fish able to track down the baits
Beauty show Edward! Good to see Jesse reeling in the fish. The bite may be slow, but when you have a glassy ocean in January, who cares about the slow bite, what a great looking day be on the water with Pops! Thanks for sharing the family video.
Interesting to see the difference in fishing techniques. In Alaska we normally look for spots that will typically hold halibut or motor up current and drift.
These are my favorite videos. Father and son on the water. Doesn't get better bro! How about that clamming video? Don't expect you to remember, but I requested one from you a while back ago. 👍🏽
It’s a little double edged to do a clamming video. We haven’t had legals in 20+ years due to low populations. Promoting it on a wide scale would probably make more sense after a few seasons if that.
Good to see father and son ,but damn you north cal guys, put the boat in neutral, no reason to troll your catch Hey Zeus Kristo, that being said like your content
lol disagree. Gotta keep the tension, plus we have 2 other rods bouncing. Easy way to tangle drifting around. Keeping the troll also allows us to plane the fish up to the gaff.
Always good to see you and your dad having a good time.
When the current or drift is that strong I always shift direction and fish with the drift.

Amen Q! Gotta remember that even if we were spoiled our last outing with those five with the 38 and 42”.
Great video I love how father and son enjoy time together doing what they love to do I wish the best to both of you and thank again for your videos
Glad to see the father and son team. I love to fish with my sons!
Glad to see that gaff being put to good use. Your dad taught you well.

That’s awesome! What part of Alaska are you? We’re cruising there the 3rd week of april
@@Hook2Cook Anchorage but most of the halibut fishing is done south of me.
Wholesome AF. Enjoy the time with Pops!
