I think anyone who follows any religion can relate to this. I was raised Catholic - my Brother is a Catholic Priest - and I honestly grew up with the same kind of anxiety. I was always obsessing over death, scared of the after-life and it made my already bad OCD much worse - to the point where still to this day, I chant the same mantra’s in my head always - it never left, even though I no longer actively follow any religion. Ultimately, if your religion isn’t bringing you a sense of peace, happiness and mental security, it really isn’t the religion for you. You shouldn’t be feeling anxious, guilty, or obsessive or fearful, you should have a feeling of peace and well-being. Always remember that any religious teachings, are just that - teachings. They’re a guide on which to follow especially for those who are lost in some way - not obsess over, and they’re there to help us make sense of grief and life after death. Our minds are so strong sometimes. The fight-or-flight response can be triggered in any way imaginable, even in religion! Humans are so fearful of the unknown, that we forget to live whilst we are lucky enough to still have life.

I have no desire to become a muslim. It has no real truth for me. I am not saying i will consider myself belonging to a particular Christian Denomination but I am closer to Christainity generally than am i able to follow a different faith, especially one like Islam. I am also unhappy that a London Council had Islamic prayers at the beginning of the week. The Council is part of general government. I think anyone who follows any religion can relate to this.
I was raised Catholic - my Brother is a Catholic Priest - and I honestly grew up with the same kind of anxiety. I was always obsessing over death, scared of the after-life and it made my already bad OCD much worse - to the point where still to this day, I chant the same mantra’s in my head always - it never left, even though I no longer actively follow any religion.
Ultimately, if your religion isn’t bringing you a sense of peace, happiness and mental security, it really isn’t the religion for you. You shouldn’t be feeling anxious, guilty, or obsessive or fearful, you should have a feeling of peace and well-being. Always remember that any religious teachings, are just that - teachings. They’re a guide on which to follow especially for those who are lost in some way - not obsess over, and they’re there to help us make sense of grief and life after death.
Our minds are so strong sometimes. The fight-or-flight response can be triggered in any way imaginable, even in religion! Humans are so fearful of the unknown, that we forget to live whilst we are lucky enough to still have life.
Dont just be a catholic read the Bible and the scriptures. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Wages of sin is death and death is eternal hellfire. So Jesus crucified for your sin. Good job for leaving Islam. But that is half of the journey. I will tell you how good was Jesus. First, he had no sin(2 Corintians 5:21). Jesus told to his disciples and people in sermon ont he mount "Love your enemies. Pray for who persecute you. If someone strike your left cheek and turn right cheek."(Mathew 5:43-44)Every Jews condemned and tried to stoned the women who commited adultrey but Jesus said to Jews "stone her who is sinless." everyone left and Jesus said to women "I will not condemn you. Go and sin no more." (John 8:1-11). Also, there was people who spit and slapped Jesus' face. But Jesus never harmed them and got scourged. When Jesus was crucified people mocked and made fun of Jesus saying "come down from the cross if you are a messiah." But Jesus prayed to Father saying "Forgive them, for they do not know what they do." He died for you but he resurrected in 3 days. If you accept Jesus as your Lord and savior and died for your sins and resurrected from the death you will be saved.

I have no desire to become a muslim. It has no real truth for me. I am not saying i will consider myself belonging to a particular Christian Denomination but I am closer to Christainity generally than am i able to follow a different faith, especially one like Islam. I am also unhappy that a London Council had Islamic prayers at the beginning of the week. The Council is part of general government. And the government is only allowed under the Monarch who is the titular head of the Church of England. Saying Islamic prayers at the beginning of a weeklycouncil meetings not being respectful to other faiths but is being disrespectful to this country.
