You can use the radio by plugging your drone into you pc with a cable. You will need the vjoy driver- it takes the signal from the drone (which revives a signal from the controller) and changes it into a signal the simulators recognize. If you have a vga port on your pc, the cable provided with the yellow and aux cable end- plug the yellow end into your pc, and the AUC end into your headset and you will have video. You will have to press the mode button on the headset a few times till it is on the AV input mode. Be sure to remove props when plugging into your pc, although you can plug in without the battery on the drone and it works the same way still.

The transmitter can be used with a simulator, but you cant plug it into the computer straight from the micro USB port on the controller. If you connect you drone to your PC, you will notice in Betaflight under the receiver tab that when you input controls from the transmitter, the PC is reading them. You can use software like Vjoy device driver and the serial feeder, and that will allow applications like DRL simulator or Velocidrone to work with the controller. One thing to note, either unplug the VTX or have a fan blowing cool air on it as it does get very hot as any VTX will if left just sitting.
Yes, we specifically tested this by putting some distance and then going behind a metal structure with a spotter on the other side, we kept low ti the ground, and when the signal became to weak, it stopped and fell.
You cannot use your phone as far as I know, it doesn't connect to your phone like some drones do. This system is much faster video feed than the internet connection that some drones use, so you cannot use your phone. The drone does record DVR itself. There is a Micro SD card slot on the side, and 2 black buttons. One starts the recording, the other cycles through your video channels for FPV.

Vdoes it have failsafe? I dont want it to fly away if i loose the signal :(

Hi. One question ... Does the controller of this drone have a dedicated battery or do you use that of the drone
It uses the same battery that the drone uses, so you don't need any extras unless you just want more flight time.

Increase your lighting and it will give you better video quality. The lower the light, the lower the video quality.
