  • A team of British Muslim Students from Madrasah Zeenatul Quran were spreading the cheer today as they brought gifts to Blackburn Royal Hospital (Children's Unit).
Maulana Faruk who organised the project, explained where the initiative had come from and how proud he was to see the Madrasah students represented so well.
“Within Madrasah we had the idea of helping people in the community and although we had already done things donating blankets before, we decided this time to go and visit Children's Unit,” he said.
“Since then, the Staff, students and parents has been really good and helped bring in gifts and funds to purchase the gifts we are handing out today.”
“This whole event has come from that one act and it is helping the pupils learn about what is happening in the wider community, and problems people have to face every day of their lives.”
“They were outstanding because it is a hard experience to be in that type of environment and for some children it was a reminder of family for them but each one dealt with it in a very compassionate and mature way.”
Team Leader at Hospital praised the project and thanked those who had come down on the day to hand out gifts and speak with patients.
It really is brilliant having the children here and for them to be interacting with us one of the patient said.
Being in Hospital at Christmas isn't so sad -People are kind
    Some of the patients said.
More than 50 presents were delivered by the Muslim students of Madrasah Zeenatul Quran to the Blackburn Royal Hospital (Children's Unit).
    Jazakallah
