  • Got this from Mark Wilson/TheFanCave a few years ago NIB. Always seen generic looking industrial's like these as a kid so I definitely wanted to find one of these since they bring me back to my childhood especially seeing many fans similar to this in the Dominican Republic. Made by SMC and these were what Hampton Bay offered as an industrial before they changed it to what they sell today. And before this there was another Industrial under the Hampton Bay name which was a relabeled Emerson Heat Fan with three metal blades. These were sold in the late 90s from about 1997 to 2000 as they were replaced by the current version of the Hampton Bay Industrial in 2001. Definitely like this version more and definitely seems better made. This one is from September of 1999, and theres another date code that says April of 2000 but obviously it’s from the earlier date. Mark had four of these NIB, with this being one of them. He installed one at a shop at his old fan cave in exchange for a wobbly Emerson ceiling fan. For a industrial ceiling fan that was sold at a cheaper price point it definitely was a good option back in the day. Moves good air despite it being a cheaper made fan. Enjoy!

Funny you mention these would look good in schools; in Hong Kong a TON of schools have these in the classrooms. They’re basically the go-to industrial over here

Did you look behind any stickers on the control to see if it has a trim pot?

Emanfan, why is the speed control for the fan at 4:14, hanging from the ceiling instead of attached to the wall?

I thought those fans came with the 4 speed slider control instead of the solid state control

Industrial ceiling fans always buzz on solid state controls

I'm glad you like it! They are neat fans indeed. Here is a video that I made a few years ago with the Emerson that I traded for it's identical twin. The SMC appears toward the end; th-cam.com/video/kIqs-jx_tI4/w-d-xo.html
