hi i am trying to install internet explorer 9 on windows vista 64 bit and i keep getting this messge to get the update and come back to the installation i want this messge to stop can you show me how to fix that messge on windows vista 64 bit

Maybe the installer that you are using is not for the windows version you want to install in. Go to this link :
www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=Internet+explorer+9
From there, you will find "Windows Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista for x64-based systems" and beside it, there should be a download button. Download the file and run it, see if that resolves your issue.
I wish, I could help but at hand, I don't have any devices that currently supports Windows Vista but hopefully, the above method helps.

@@SIJGamer that version of ie9 is for windows vista but it wants me to get the updates to install the version of ie on windows vista service pack 2

and also when i downloaded those security updates for ie9 for windows vista i clicked on the countinue button and then it was searching for updates and a messge poped up saying this update does not apply to your system give me the ie9 security updates for vista that will apply to my system and also i am not running it on a pc i am running it in a virtual machine called virtual box
