Been to a few of his live concerts. Yes, there may be some lack in bhavam but this will come with age. His renditions are technically good, his voice amazing esp the bhrigas and gamakams, lovely mix of old and new. Great package! Wonderful talent. If he stays on the straight and narrow should be an all time great by middle age!

There is another dikshitar kriti 'venkateswaram' in this raga. Credit goes to ilayaraja for using this 'nee daya raada' as it is, with tamil lyrics ' un dayavillayo' and making people to take notice of this raga.
18.40 swara prasthAram is similar to that of Shreeman Balamurali Krishna Garu. I love this boy singing in such profoundness at such an younger age. I listen to his renditions frequently.

At advanced levels, singing brings out the Singer's own individual 'mudhra'. Rasikaas must learn to enjoy the striking feature(s) of each Singer. With Abhishek I go with him in his 'explorations' of each of his ragas. Like a European Portrait Painter, using different colours and shades, Abhishek uses his brigas and gamakas to throw light on the border of each Raga. If a Rasika sees across to spot another Raga, so be it...... In exploring a 'border', occasionally, one puts a foot momentarily across the border into another Raga..... But Abhishek knows how to get back into the border of Raga he is singing......!!!!!
No doubt, abhishek is going to make a new mark in the new generation carnatic music. I am sure he will have the courage to do a lot of experiments to reach new world of youths!!
This vasantha bhairavi is suitable for female artists like late MLV but her direct sisyai Sudha sings flat . This boy uses lot of birgas like GNB which we have not heard for long, since his demise.Afterall this boy is excellent inhis attempt in lower note in alapana. Oneday he will be at par with Sanjay Subramanian as he has variety.

Bommaraju's words are harsh of course, but there is an element of truth in them. I am a great fan of Abishek, outstanding voice and talent,never miss a concert of his. However, it will be great if he can think about this aspect. I just finished listening to a Chembai song, and the contrast is stark. Good music is elevated to greatness if the singer can convey not only the composer's but his/her own Heart and Bhakti (for want of better words) to the listener.

But honestly Meaning of the song list in his singing. Song meaning and Emotion is not carried in his singing. Please correct Talladilla is a single word. You are breaking in between which is odd to listen. PL refer to bakamurali Krishna he always carry the meaning and bhava with his singing.

Maybe, not having the knowledge of language in which the kriti was composed could have been the reason (with many who sing Sri Tyagaraja). Listen to Sri Nagaiah garu in the film Tyagayya. You could easily make out that he was immersed in bhakti when he enacted the role of Sri Tyagaraja
