      Thanks for commenting Tumza,
      1. Usually you would allow nails per truss according to your engineers hold down requirements. We are not an engineering software however, you can export to excel and then associate every measure with the engineers requirements
      2. Roof calculations are done by sqm , sqft etc. If you know how many tiles you have per sqm and how many battens you have per sqm I would do the 1 click export then export excel and associate the right number of nails, tiles ETC you require per unit measure. many of our users import the XML (Excel sheet) into Quickbooks, MYOB or what ever accounting software they use so they can do their accounts and purchase orders and their book keeping. Some programs have added functionality that automate this process.
      3. Yes
The goal of Plusspec is to get the take off from the design to eliminate or greatly reduce estimating and purchasing. It simply does not make sense that we are tracing over plans and doing multiple equations form a 2D drawing. the 2D drawing is the end result that we use onsite for communication, they are terrible to estimate from and they cost the trades people more money than I can explain. ARGGHHHH #3dBIM4estimating

It can do most of what you are looking for and you can associate recipes for nails and hardware. Here is the traditional roof creation vidoe th-cam.com/video/4ZQTsF-hJGM/w-d-xo.html

Hi, Thanks for the tutorial. :)
How do I turn on those tabs at the top that say "FloorPlan", "ELV 1", "ELV 2", "Structure" etc?

Oh I found it, it's the little camera sitting above a rotate arrow icon.

Haha yes. Thanks again for your comments. I had just replied to your other comment. Yes it is the Camera Icon, we are glad that you found it.

Jack Post you simply go to the camera icon next to the grid tool in the plusspec tool bar. click on all it'll make them for you instantly. These scenes are also used for 2d documentation.

Hey not sure if you read this but how come none of the plum cuts hit the point on the ridge or the hips?

Hi John I just did a test and it seems to be working perfectly. What version of PlusSpec or PlusDesignBuild are you using?

If you have not updated yet to the latest version, go www.plusspec.com and log in and download. The latest version of Plusspec works much much faster. November 2016. 8-)
