No added price or price to pay for use on the course, the only down side is if your a pro your not allowed them in comps , BUT AMATEUR GOLFERS CAN USE THEM . THERE IS ONE DEVICE A MOBILE PHONE YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO USE THAT AS DAFT AS IT SEEMS IN CASE YOU PHONE FOR GUIDENCE. PAUL
My G80 has a dark screen, muted colors which almost make the display look black and white. Tried adjusting the settings, no luck. The Sky Caddie's screen looks to be a lot more colorful and detailed.
From start to finish it was obvious you prefer the Garmin. Your reason seems soley based on subscription fees, yet the sx500 costs $400 and the g80 cost $500, which is about 2 years of subscription fees on average. You state the g80 could be off by as much as 15 yards in launch monitor which makes it completely useless. Im a single digit handicap golfer and there is a huge difference between a 100 yard and 110 yard approach shot. Your review only confirmed to me to stay with skycaddie. (lose the music)
Rich B, what about after 2 years?? and then you're still paying subscriptions and on and on. What if the subscribed prices raise every season? I think the Garmin wins EXCTLY because there isnt hidden fee's that could mount up for years and years.

Great review.
Thank you!
Is there any membership involved with these devices or additional costs ?
Sorry just seen the subscription

yes but give us an idea of price
the courses are already downloaded in the sx 500? if we do not renew the subscription. Are we still enjoying the courses?
No, if you don’t subscribe they block the gps signal to your handheld.
