- HORRIFIC footage shows a heroic British-Israeli soldier fighting Hamas as he bravely throws back the grenades they attack him with.
Aner Shapiro, 22, died in the brutal October 7 Hamas music festival massacre, as he protected partygoers and caught seven deadly explosives with his bare hands.
His mother told Kan News that Shapiro stood by the entrance of a bomb shelter where around 30 festival goers were hiding from the attack - tossing the grenades back outside.

23y.o. Aner Shapiro gathered and drew to this little bomb shelter 41 young men from the festival. Alas, it became a trap. After eighth grenade blast in his hands terrorists threw some more and opened gunfire inside to hit survived with ricochet. They already had no time to kill the rest and gone. 13 wounded people survived and witnessed in addition to what you see here.
Aner saved not just these people but also those, to whom he won time to take cover.
Fun fact , he was the terrorist all along. And Palestinian freedom fighters don't kill civilians unlike your chosen terros 🇮🇱 that's why they survived.

@@Viejol There's so much video footage from both sides. There is head-mounted GoPro footage, dashcam, cellphone coverage. There are testimonies of the survivors. The Supernova festival was a civilian event, so naturally the people who ran away and were hunted by terrorists on the road were civilians.
The soldiers who were killed that day were mostly inside military bases, as they didn't expect the attack.

They must have been the only ones armed in that scenario, because no one would run around like that with an actual opponent nearby. that's the only way you could explain the bizarre behaviour at 0:48 . First, the guy on the road does not do anything to get off that road when the shots are fired in the background (meaning it likely was their own fire or at least not directed at them) and after firing a few rounds, they just continue to chill out like nothing happened.

I’ve heard comments from his family and relative of the other people inside the shelter. I think there were quite a few people inside, like 10+. I don’t think there are any survivors. It makes you really see and feel how slow the help came. 😢

Aner Shapira was an Israeli hero who saved many lives. He was not a "Brit" and presenting him to The Sun readers as a brave British-Israeli soldier is misleading to say the least.

First of all. Let's get our facts right. More than 300k were protesting in London last Saturday. With of course many other protests happening in every city in the UK. 500k marching through London the Saturday before that. If theres that many people protesting, imagine how many in the UK actually support Palestine but didn't go to the protests. He was not a soldier on duty. He escaped from a Nova party and with him dozens of others in a shelter that was surrounded by Hamas terrorists and massacred most of those inside. The man who threw the grenades out each time was killed by the last grenade. He sacrificed himself for others. The name of this hero is Aner Shapira. And you missed the part in the video where you see another citizen trying to escape from the shelter and being shot in the process by all the terrorists who were there with dozens of bullets.

So I've seen this quote paraded around all over reddit the past few days. And everytime, it's cited as "sources close to Netanyahu." But after a deep dive, the quote actually comes from Haim Ramon's book, where he is the literal only source of said quote.
And Ramon at the time of writing it had not served in the government since 2009, and certainly not in the Likud. Which certainly raises credibility issues regarding the quote.
Some articles have started adding comments like this: "These exact comments have not yet been confirmed by other sources." to this quote.
And the quote differs when you read it from different sources, for example, According to the Jerusalem Post, in a private meeting with members of his Likud party on March 11, 2019, Netanyahu explained the reckless step as follows: The money transfer is part of the strategy to divide the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Anyone who opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state needs to support the transfer of the money from Qatar to Hamas. In that way, we will foil the establishment of a Palestinian state (as reported in former cabinet member Haim Ramon’s Hebrew-language book “Neged Haruach”, p. 417).
Note that the Jerusalem post actually got the source/origin correct, even down to the specific page in the book, and seems to have a better/more thorough translation and context than what OP posted here.
Just don't blindly trust quotes you find on the internet, especially when the originating document is the only known source, and it was written in Hebrew.
