Since planes in gta can spontaneously explode from anything, it really is true that the mallard coule ve survived if the speed was much lower than what it had used during the landing.

logs are quite a strong way to make a temporary river crossing where the banks are not too far apart, they do it in forested countries, they tie the logs together and also tie them down at each of the banks. But the way Jantsuu demonstrated how it works is awesome...
