I am replacing the 4R100 transmission on my 1999 F250 4x4 in the next week or two when the new one arrives. I really wanted to do what you're doing but I am dealing with too many toys in my garage and a broken leg from a motorcycle accident right now so I just bought a rebuilt one for $3k with shipping and taxes and all that junk.
Also if i can ask a quest,. man, i know when you take the plate and plate gaskets off (under the lower valve bodies) there is a small black plastic filter that pops into the plate and hangs below but i have seen some 4r100s that have an additional even smaller/tiny filter with a coil spring just up and left a few inches from the first one that sits below the plate/gaskets. Did you have this second tiny filter that i have heard is for 4x4s ??????????

Can we get exact year, make, model of truck 4x4 or 2wd and exact model of trans in the description please sir !!!
2002 ford f350 4x4, the tranny has been rebuilt before I'm 99% sure.
