Especially when hector and miguel sang it to coco in the flash back and in present time I can never watch those 3 with out crying Hector Miguel and coco are just adorable
Me too! I think of my father when I hear this song and how beautiful our relationship is; and how he has molded my character into the woman I am to day. There is no love like your father’s love, that moment in Coco shows exactly how precious it is.😊
They do know that Disney movies go back almost a hundred years? Some of the best songs are the older songs. They should be selecting equally from all eras of Disney movies.
I think what's interesting is that Disney is so so linked to the stage of life . The elders remember what they watched as a kid, what their kids watched maybe . It's why you can pinpoint a person's age by what Disney movies you've seen
@@leescience Can't disagree with that. I still think that when you are doing something involved with the best of Disney, you need to use data from ALL of the history and not just a period of it.
The other issue is how many of those songs have withstood the test of time? The Mary Poppins one is one such case that I can remember that has stood the full test of time, nearly 60 years. Most of the songs are also 30-40 years old, so have proven their longevity to some degree too. I do agree they could've done better with more older songs but I think your criticism would be better placed if you suggested some of the earlier hits you feel they missed.
I think where this video was pointed was movies that came out after or around when they were born. The one lady said she was born in 64 when Mary Poppins came out. I'm gonna try this with my dad over the weekend who was born in 48 and go a bit further back to disney movies he might have seen as a kid. I disagree with the one comment about "songs that stood the test of time" bc i was born in 88 but didnt know Newsies from 92 which was when I was 4 and i consider myself a disney fanatic especially considering i knew every other one of these despite my age.
Everyone having an emotional moment after the Coco song and Phil jumping in "it's got a melody... its a nice gesture to the old bag" I almost spat my water out laughing
I love how emotional, sensitive and sweet are Elizabeth and Libby! But they're ALL so cute and wonderful elders! Please, tell them that we love them so much!
I definitely think it's the story that makes you attached to the songs. So the movies that they hadn't seen, they had no emotional reactions promoting a love of the song ... But even years after the fact they love and remember the ones they watched as children
Man, the emotion that kid puts into Remember Me is crazy. I cry every time I hear it. and then Phil makes me laugh with "a nice gesture to the old bag" lmao
Same. I watched some folx react to it for the first time on youtube p last night and I was bawling before I realized it once Miguel sang Hector and Coco’s version of Remember Me. My condolences, fam.💕
What is with „a whole new world“ from aladdin or „i can go the distance“ from hercules 😍 looove those! As soon as I saw the Coco scene my eyes started watering 😂 goddaaaamn
Beauty and The Beast is the reason there is now a Category at the Oscars for Best Animated Feature. It was nominated for Best Picture and studios didn't want to risk the possibility of losing the Best Picture Oscar to a cartoon so they added the category.
I started DYING when he said Sponge Bob. And I wonder what would have happened if they had Hellfire in this list, and I tear up at the Coco one even though I have never seen the movie.
In the Broadway musical version of Mary Poppins, they actually spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! We sang that song in one of my high school shows, so now I know how to spell it forever.
Fun fact: In Sweden, we all watch Disney cartoons at 3 pm on Christmas afternoon (we celebrate on Christmas eve) and in that show, they sing "when you wish upon a Star", so EVERYONE in Sweden thinks about it as a Christmas song. I actually didn't know it was in Pinnochio and I'm 30+. And yes.. this is all true! Google it. ;)
Despite me ragging on a lot disneys creations and it as a company, this is my favourite tradition. Many happy memories cosied up with my cousins on the sofa watching it on Christmas. Cant wait to eventually move back to Sweden
I think my favorite Disney song is "Once Upon A Dream." Sleeping Beauty is not even one of my favorite Disney movies, but that song is so beautiful. It should have been included!
Love the elders, they're all great, but I like Catherine a lot, something about her humor and general persona that just clicks with me. But I gotta say, Phil killed me in this one, when he said "Nice gesture to the old bag". 🤣🤣🤣
Nobody can resist Coco. Every time Coco starts singing remember me with Miguel the floodgates of the Orinoco opens and the cutting of onions starts. lol
Some of my faves are: "Be Prepared" - Lion King "Surface Pressure" - Encanto (I prefer it over Bruno, but the latter is my 2nd fave from the movie) "A Girl Worth Fighting For" - Mulan (again, prefer it over "Make a Man Out of You", but that's my 2nd fave) "Poor Unfortunate Souls" - Little Mermaid "Arabian Nights" - Aladdin "Savages" - Pochahontas
My Favorite Disney song is "Bare Necessities" from Jungle Book. It is virtually impossible not to have a upbeat, happy, fun disposition after listening to and singing along to it. Anyone who can is in SERIOUS need of medication and therapy.
Out of ALL of the Disney songs, I love "Jessies Song" from Toy Story "Be Prepared" from Lion King "One Step" from Aladdin "Baby, mine" from Dumbo And the song from Partysauraus Rex
The Lion King was my Dad's Favorite Disney movie...he literally wore out the VHS so that we had to buy new one & then again, so we just bought him a DVD when they came out!
Elizabeth and Libby are really two adorable souls that are having fun! Bless Catherine's heart and Phil is really fun to watch! Vera and Gary vibe with everything! This is really the best cast!!
My all time favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast but Encanto is a close second and I grew up watching the older movies. I just think Encanto is so relatable.
"Remember Me" always destroys me, specially in the context of the movie. "Coco" is a masterpiece.
Ikr? too... emotional. y'know ")
Especially when hector and miguel sang it to coco in the flash back and in present time I can never watch those 3 with out crying

It's a nice gesture to the old bag😂😂
I was ugly crying in cinema, and every time I hear the song Tbh. I hate this movie and love it at the same time
“Nice gesture to the old bag” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 did mama coco so dirty
song almost had me in tears and that sent me 180 to crying with laughter, dudes too funny for that
I burst out laughing 😂

Omg I'm so glad this was my top comment! You read my mind!
Damn. Every single time Remember Me starts playing, I get tears. They really nailed it with the emotion for it
Omg same🥺
I agree I think its more emotional in spanish for me
i was sooo into and emotional until 13:03 the “adios” had me dying😂

LMFAO “it was a nice gesture to the old bag” 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ooh he was clearly moved by the song but being a man’s man, he can’t or won’t admit it so he pretends not to be.😂
"Remember Me" from Coco gets me EVERY SINGLE TIME. Didn't realize this was a Try Not to Cry challenge 😭
Remember Me always makes me cry. Many songs give me goosebumps, but Remember Me just straight up makes me cry

Man, the emotion that kid puts into Remember Me is crazy. I cry every time I hear it. and then Phil makes me laugh with "a nice gesture to the old bag" lmao
You guys should’ve included the Princess and the Frog songs, they’re amazing.
Am I the only one that tears up when I hear "Remember Me"?
"It's a nice gesture to the old bag"
Phil you're amazing
Thank you
Had not heard Remember Me since my grandma passed away on July 25th last year and this hit super hard.
Coco hits so much more now...I lost my beloved grandma this year. I don't think I'll ever be truly okay.

I LOVE OUR ELDERS REACT!!!💛💛💛💛💛
It's so good to see the Elders again! I've missed them!
me too!

Same here!
My favorite song is from Mulan, Reflection. I resonate so much with that song as I do feel like I am putting on a mask around others.
8:44 she’s so real for that

"Remember Me" does that to everyone 🥺😭💖
I’m so happy y’all included A Goofy Movie on here!!! That movie was my childhood and Coco is my absolute favorite Pixar movie
Oh I’m glad to see the elders are back! I missed them!
We lost Rock to covid, wish the channel would make a tribute to him.
I was enjoying myself then they put coco and I couldn’t stop from crying 😭 dang man. Great movie emotional
"It's a nice gesture to the old bag" LMAO!!!

Did he say, "it's a nice gesture to the old bag." ?!? 😮😂
Yeah I was dying, i haven't heard that phrase in a while
Omg how I've missed elders react... Thank you for bringing it back
Straight up took me out, complimented the song then called the dying grandma an old bag. He must be saved at all costs! 😂
When I hear Remember Me it means more to now since my brother's and stepdad's passing last year in October 2022.
I'm so sorry 😢... Hope you're feeling okay

Zero to hero not being in this is criminal hell any of the songs from Hercules such an underrated movie same with the princess and the frog .
I love how the Elders described Bruno's appearance as the complete opposite of what he actually looks like
But I thought he had a 7 foot frame? With rats along his back? And I thought that when he calls your name, it all fades to black?
